    ---------ABOUT THE VIDEO---------
This video was originally uploaded to our other channel, Casual Navigation, back in 2018.
In this video I show you how to complete a more advanced radar plot to find CPA, TCPA, Course, Speed and Aspect of a target vessel and then how to undertake a speed alteration and calculate a new CPA and TCPA.
Learning how to complete a manual radar plot is an essential part of any maritime training, whether you are learning to navigate a supertanker or a sailing yacht. Knowing how the electronic equipment performs its calculations is vital so that you can understand its limitations.

calculating the aspect, you say compare to our own heading of 48degrees to there bearing from 'A' to our vessel(102degrees)? 48 degrees was their way of own from 'W' to 'A'? our heading is 000? so 102-48 isnt correct is it? As 48 isnt our heading?

I noticed that too. He must of meant to say their heading of 048⁰ instead.

Enjoyed the three videos on the topic. Only one part threw me off, and it was in this video. We had assumed that we were taking action at a later time to the actual position and plotted a fourth predicted location. Therefore, we shouldn't account the time period from A to the new position when calculating the new TCPA. It should have been 12 mins as opposed to 18, no?

I think with radar plots and maneuvering boards in general, the assumption is that everything is time late and more of a tool to help. ARPA however will provide a more accurate solution to the maneuvering solution
