I hate Meguiars to be honest..
When I still had my shop etc I had a representative of them over...and he literally said to me he couldn't offer me better stuff then I was already using.
He was a great guy though and for hobbyists Meguiars maybe a 'thing', but not worth the money in my opninion.
Another representative also came by, and actually I supported his brand to sell to my customers for normal maintanance.
He was from Kenotek..There's a shampoo you should try out! Kenotek Brilliant Wash ;-)
Also, not sure why, but their interior cleaner did wonders for my customers! ;-) They loved the smell, the results etc..check it out!
Back when i still was doing this, Kenotek wasn't even known here in Europe and they had just 1 truck driving around overhere.
Many carwashes etc use their products nowadays aswell.

@@mrlooneycooney8948 in the UK meguiars have a big issue with pricing. While they are in halfords they can perhaps still chanrge these prices but as time goes by I think they cant. 20 quid for a litre of pre wash. 16.99 for 750ml of wheel cleaner. 25 quid for a small wheel face brush... Its a shame because I like the products but I would just perhaps go with mirror glaze and their detailer pro line.

I think snow foaming is pointless and I've stopped doing it now, plus the mess it leaves on the driveway can be a pain to get off, especially in the summer when it dries. But keep up the videos, I've learnt a lot from you from many videos now, very informative. Your house looks lovely by the way!

Personally I’ll be sticking to ‘Eight Below’ from ‘Wax Planet’ and the famous ‘BH AutoFoam’ 😎👍🏻
It doesn’t mean this is a bad product - but those 2 are incredible snowfoams and amazing value for money! Eight Below only needs 50ml for maintenance washes.

Bought a bottle on spec from Amazon pre-seeing this review. It was the best thick, clingy foam I’ve used - I use a lance like yours but have the hose lock auto-close valves (necessity but noted your other snow foam tips video re pressure washer and flow) and a k4 Karcher. I’ve tried various snow foams. Yep, expensive but impressive, especially useful for snow foam contact wash quickee. Also, my bottle of concentrate settled with great big snow ball like blobs in the container but a quick shake and it’s fine. I thought mine was knackered too before I even used it 😀 good video as always

I use this product on my Ford Ranger. I use 100ml in a snow foam cannon but I use warm water to aid it to become more soluble. Then snow foam my truck so it then looks like a block of polystyrene. Wait 5mins and then jet wash off and dry. It is expensive however compared to competitors. Id still recommend it though!

Hi John, I went and purchased some of the Meguiars Snow foam from Halfords, and as you've said it ain't cheap !!! as you have already mentioned ..should be wrapped in gold for that quantity LOL ...... but it does clean and seem to remove the dirt. I have used Polar blast and Bilt and Hamber, It is certainly the most Foamy of the 3. I would say Bilt & Hamber snow foam is the least foaming but the best out of the 3 at removing a majority of the grime, next I would say is Meguiars and then Autoglym. In terms of price and value for money, I would say by far the best of the 3 again has to be Bilt and Hamber. I do like the Meguiars as it does foam up the most and has a premium feel, but then it does have a premium price, would I buy again ??? No in terms of Value for money, No in terms of Cleaning capablity, but for the thick foam and blingness I might be persuaded.
I do think Meguiars have a good product here and as already side the size is very misleading, aside from the issue the product is very nice to use, I suppose we need a product that has the thick Suds of Meguiars the cleaning capability of Bilt and Hamber and maybe the Smell or the Autoglym one and we maybe onto a winner.
    HTH ;-)

It's too expensive for me to even try, I'll stick to bilt hamber throughout winter and auto finesse avalanche through summer, I also feel with super thick snow foams, 90% of the product doesn't make contact with the car and even funnier snow foams have enough dwell time to work effectively

Jon on a totally separate issue. I did a review today on a recon shampoo. It looked like it worked really well but I couldn't in all honesty measure its performance so I said in the video that this was one for you to come up with a measure. You are great at product reviews and I couldn't think of a better person to come up with a solution. !!!!!!!!!

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  5 лет назад

its not easy mate.. I had this problem doing the shampoo shootout.. they all claim like thick luxourious suds and slickness and most deliver on this. The dirt simulator helps test them a bit, measuring PH etc.. using them, seeing if anything bad happens if they dry. but ultimately I thick just using them for a few months is really important. you cant always do that when your reviewing things.. so yer no easy answer..

Great video. Curious whether you guys on that side of the pond suffer from hard water as we do in California. Makes washing out in the sun almost impossible without distilled water or a water softener.

yes water is hard in the south coast of england, it is in most places. I also find though the key is just dont let the water dry.. if you get it before it dries your ok.. thats why I was ready to go turbo drying mode.. but yer its a big big problem water spotting.. its not even that hot here yet.

I had some lumps in my can of meguiar's snow foam, is it the low temperatures of the moment? Sorry I do not understand English well. Thank you in advance. Otherwise I found that it gave a beautiful brilliance, and very thick foam with my foam cannon PRO-KLEEN! But it is expensive for less than 1 liter!
Otherwise the 5 liter snow foam canisters PRO-KLEEN are cheap and also work very well! I had for a little over 30euro the PRO-KLEEN foam cannon (identical to the adam's red version) and 5 liters of orange snow foam.

I had some, but I didnt put it in the last one, and went for bonnymens. simply because I wanted a cheap offering.. the chem chem offering in the cosmetic range could really benefit from a scent and I dont often say that (it smells bad).

hey steve yes most online reseller will sell a lance thats compatible with most pressure washers.. so like in2detailing, clean and shiny etc will sell the lances.. you have PA lances (expensive italian made) or cheap chinese .. pay 35 for good european lance 15 quid for chinese.. I also have the in2detailing dr dirt flask on mine so it does not tip over

building a line up for another video like that... problem is that video took 6 months of pre testing.. 2 days of filming, 20 hours of editing.. And a crappy 5 minutes can do 10 times more views... so its balance. I cant always do the big test videos but I will try to do now and then

I have watched 1 Meguires vid and it was the Ceramic Wax launch vid. They pissed about for 13 minutes being tools and spent 2 minutes giving useful info on the product. Never used their product and after watching that rubbish won't bother. I'll stick to Autoglym and Bowdens Own (Aussie brand).

In your upcoming snow foam comparison video, could you possibly add autosmart ultramousse into the list?? Curious to see how it compares as I use and like it BUT would jump onto another product if it offers better cleaning power for similar value. At only 35ml to 1L of warm water I find it very economical

@@ForensicDetailing I don't understand how wouldn't be accessable? Up my way I need to find a local rep n find where he is based that day and then go find them, usually about 15-20mins away. I wouldn't mind even sending you some if you would include it but if not fussed about adding into the test then fair enough, I jus think for the economy of the stuff it might have been worthwhile

    • @ForensicDetailing

@@krissysxi4808 you just said it mate.. 99% of people watching FDC cant be bothered to locate a local rep and contact them to get chemicals. they either want it in halfords or in one of the online venues.. you can order AS stuff on ebay but you need to be carefull doing so because you dont know who your buying and what your buying. also most peeps watching dont want 5 litres of a product.
