When Jordan Rudess had Lots of hair..God this is A Real DT MASTERPIECE !..Thank You Mike Portnoy for the Amazing lyrics and All the Band's input in this !..So sad the day Portnoy was gone from his Founding Band
This song, overall, is their best work imo .. one of the best compositions of all time... the lyrics and the music are seamless and very powerful, and beautiful
Love the little changes from the album version, especially the drumming. They still kept the same feel of the original but added new elements here and there. 12:12 was great too! Really just an amazing live version.
Not by we musicians. We knew he was blessed since he took over for Charlie, so so long ago. He is the centerpiece that takes the brilliant music to heights unachievable without him. He’s irreplaceable. God blessed us when he put our Canadian friend with our NY boys.
??? Even DT is sad that Labrie destroyed their career! They've heard from TENS OF MILLIONS of prog metal fans like me who say "JL's whiny disney princess voice is a DEAL BREAKER". DT wonder why they never got bigger! JL is the reason! We LOVE Hetfields voice! Everone does! EVERYONE loves Cobain, Cornell, Ian Gillan, Dio, and the rest, and almost everyone hates JL. I literally don't know one musician or human who doesn't hate Labrie's WHINY HEAD VOICE. If it weren't for dumb ppl, DT would have NO career!
i was at this show (Live Metropolis 2000 DVD). when i want to listen to ACoS live, this is my go to. The new one with MM can't be compared. it's so sterile sounding
God damn, they used to sound this good huh? I am a long time fan, and just went to their show in the Budokan last night... It was a super well produced show but I really feel like I missed the prime of the band like what we see here. You can actually hear Myung's part, which is something that is nonexistent in new DT. Labrie actually sounds good here too, but damn I think he needs to retire now.
@@MrGilyboy90% of this song was already finished even before awake came out, just search change of seasons 1993. With that being said, Derek did contribute to the song but Kevin deserves most of the praise
Nothing against Mike Mangini But Dream Theater without Mike Portnoy is not Dream Theater for me but has nothing to do with Mangini ✌️I miss the time with Mike Portnoy
I kinda wish prog-rock bands of today can compose like this, including DT. But sadly, due to massive hype and mainstream fanaticism, it gets in the heads of once called 'musicians'. Nowadays, its all about making a name and no more of the art aspect. Shame...
22:28 it was crystal clear how they needed to downtune their instruments so James Labrie could have a chance at singing their songs. I love DT, but this is just unacceptable.
a true masterpiece... from the very first note to the last one, i cant get enough of it.
This is the best DT song hands down.
The only thing i dont like is when labrie first comes in the first like 2 seconds of his singing. Idk the melody is kinda wierd

best recording of their best song
13:24 When they start these verses... best part of the song IMHO. Labrie at his finest.
This band is amazing..been a DT fan for over 30 years..Petrucci and band rock!
I love this version the best. I must have listened to this a few hundred times.

"The Best song of Dream Theater .... just don't get bored with this masterpiece..."
Exactly!
The perfect song, the perfect performance....
LaBrie is criminally underrated. Even back then.
Lebi

I saw them either the night before or after when they were in Minneapolis. Dr Kevin Moores replacement Jordon was extremely different
Back then he could still sing. Now he is the anchor dragging down the entire band.
I am a huge fan! I took voice lessons for years, James is and always be awesome!
What a band! Astonishing
Nice upload. I love this song.
Rare video.. with good recordings... Great.. ❤️🤘
This was after James’s accident with his voice? He sounds awesome. This is the best they ever sounded for sure. So tight.
the whole "A Change of Seasons" was recorded after James's voice accident
Absolutely awesome! I'd love MP back..
What do you know he came back

I am speechless
Super elite band from the heaven oh my God
What a classic.
Nice simpson solo... and performance
Perfect ...

9:07 my favorite part of the song!
Trapped-in-side-this...Oc-ta-va-ri-um!
Я просто балдею 😁
12:13 My favorite !
Fun fact: Portnoy collapsed right after this concert due to extreme exhaustion and lack of food
song was so good he passed out
Super jestem fanem takiej muzyki .😀😀😀😀😀😀
I can understand being exhausted, but lack of food is weird..why would he play if he wasn't well fed..
Dont be stupid
that sucks he's the glue of the band
At the start when jp starts the melody is so hype
John Myung is really crazy
mike portnoy looks like mike folley from raw in this era.
Haha!! Holy shit you are right.
Mick Foley lol
19:02 I love that part
This was awesome when weird Al yankovic was playing keyboard with DT.
I remember a time
. My frail, virgin mind 🎶
2000
It's from "Metropolis 2000 Scenes From New York
Kevin Moore was a true genius... Although the great overall career they've built, the Kevin Moore albuns were the best ones
M.Moore had already left at the time, it was Derek Sherinian who recorded and likely wrote the keyboards parts. Cheers

Wow
I really love that part between 00:01 and 25:25
😄👍👍👍👍👍
I have the audio cassette of this album, Change of season 🤘
C'est top........
Cuando erán la mejor banda😢
You know
I just do not want to change the word.....
Back when James could actually sing
Listening to the whole song just to reach that melody on 20:52
Nothing against Mike Mangini But Dream Theater without Mike Portnoy is not Dream Theater for me but has nothing to do with Mangini ✌️I miss the time with Mike Portnoy
congratulations then now he's back!
HOLLY FUCK JAMES WAS SO POWERFULL
Metálica 8.
Dream theater 10
"sorry for the short set"
more than enough, what a masterpiece. I know it from the day it was released and everytime I start it I can't stop it!
about the
Scenes from New York Dvd!!! i dont remember the year..
live when? i believe its 2000s + cuz john is already using the musicman
End of 2000. The last concert of SFAM tour!!
うおー(/・ω・)/
A good live recording for Labrie????
Back when Myung was in the mix😅😅
he has a more midrange & saturated sound live to make up for only one guitar track. this is part of the reason rush sounds so good as a 3-piece.
Thank god that was just a prototype of his guitar
Why is that?
I actually prefer the jp6 erra

Who are the 9 people who disliked this? lol
Do you have a date for this show?
2000
12'42 I don't know the title of this music. Can someone tell me?
Are. You thinking of rag time??
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
30 years later. Janes does not sing. He screams.
James F*****g Labrie!!!
22:28 it was crystal clear how they needed to downtune their instruments so James Labrie could have a chance at singing their songs. I love DT, but this is just unacceptable.
bored?? never de limón
Back then LaBrie sounds like god.. Now i cant listen to him... He should retire, because he just makes worse every show.
James does some great work on Rik Emmets Resolution 9 project
Back when Myung was in the mix😅😅
