What is a pronunciation nightmare for most students is no problem for Tami] 05:05 - Lean on [rely on, depend on] 10:53 - Tackles [make an effort to deal with] 12:50 - Overlooked [ignore, not notice, disregard] Quick Fixes 02:10 - In "This world" and "These Leviathans", this (closed vowel) and theeese (open vowel) must sound different. These open and vowel sounds can also be noted in 06:06 "Seeing these characters" [open] and again at 10:00 "new world to live" [closed] 03:49 - Quick resolution* is probably a better way to phrase it 05:40 - I didn't even want [did already represents the past] 05:56 - It brings* back so many* good memories [many is "muitas" and much is "muito" in Portuguese] Challenge 🧠 08:08 - "(...)finds her dad laying down, dead". This year is being hard for me to give 5 stars too. And I really want to read The Tainted Cup and Ink, Blood, Sister Scribe and Children of Time. I loved Funny Story too, I think it's my favorite book by the author, but I'm still thorn between Funny Story and Happy Place. My top 5 so far this year is The Emperor's Soul, Funny Story, Happy Place, Emma and Shadows of Self
My fav of 2024 is hands down The Seven Year Slip from Ashley Poston. Sadly it will come to Brazil by Arqueiro ony in 2025. And Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow. Of course! But there were no doubts about this one becoming a favorite of live.
I dont even know my top 5 best books so far in this year because Im awful with it, but I loved O cozer das pedras o roer dos ossos and Mengele's biography
I'm currently on a Cosmere journey, so all of my top five books are by Brandon Sanderson hahaha, My top 5 favorites were Words of Radiance, The Way of Kings, Defiant, The Emperor's Soul, and Warbreaker. I'm also really excited to read The Will of the Many, The Book That Wouldn't Burn, and of course, Wind and Truth next semester.
I have read... None of these books. To be fair, I read Full methal Alchemist. Some of them are in my TBR for this year, so i WILL READ. I need to say that I didn't like V. E. Schwab writing style, but you made me a little bit interested in The Fragile Thread of Power. I read Darker Shade of Magic last year, I was just not in the mood to read this one, but you picked my curiosity.
I read just a few books this year, much less than I was expecting, but I was still able to find great stories! So my top 5 books so far this year is: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman Middlegame by Seanan McQuire Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderon Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
I've only read one book from this list, which is Children of Time. It's pretty cool, I really like how Adrian explores this different path of evolution (and an accelerated one at that). I'm also curious about City of Last Chances. Of the other books you mentioned, The Tainted Cup, My Heart is a Chainsaw, Empire of Silence and The Sword of Kaigen all interest me a lot, and I'll probably try to read some of them this year. I haven't read enough this year for a meaningful top 5, but I've got 3 absolute highlights: - The Crippled God, by Steven Erikson - Toll the Hounds, by Steven Erikson - Babel, by RF Kuang
I didn't know that you gave 5 ⭐ to The fragile threads of power, I end up giving it 4 or 4.5 , I can't remember. I felt the same feeling of nostalgia, I love to know better about the system of magic , but something was lacking, and I find it dragged a little in parts

Robert Jackson Bennett seems like a very good author. I just bought Foundryside this prime day, and I hope to begin my journey through his books soon!
