If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

Thanks Mark- Curiousity got the better of me- so I watched pt2 (pt1 still to see) I learned a few things for sure. The alternator extension plug- that may account , if its dirty, to my alternator light staying on and going off when it suits- dispite decent output to the battery.
@@CoatsandGaiters on the ABS front- I went out to look at the pump just now and as i had the engine running, asked my son to come and operate the brake, stationary- as I felt the motor- I could not feel the motor try to start- Is that becuase it only runs in 'anger'?
@@patrickjmorgan I believe the pump only runs when the ABS is preventing a real skid. I think the valves let go inside to prevent a locked wheel and then the motor reapplies the pressure and the cycle repeats. Don't quote me though lol
@@CoatsandGaiters Thanks. Figures, I suppose. hi .. it doesn't look too complicated working on this , do you make any aids to memory for reassembly especially for the wiring loom and electrics , is it worth putting labels on the wires and connectors ? or take photos ? any tips .. cheers ..
I make in-depth videos as I go along so every item and bolt is recorded on camera. If you follow my videos you shouldn't need to label much but keep the parts of different sections together. I include all torque settings for reassembly as well in each episode. Good luck.

Hi Mark. Did you ever find out what the spare red wire at 16:45 was for? I have the same spare red wire on my car and don’t know what it’s for. I’m intrigued to know.
Yes it’s for the air conditioning pump if you have air con. I think that’s the most asked question on the mini forums lol. I think BMW should have taped them tidy rather than leave like that as we all wonder whether something needs reconnecting.
Mine has a connector on the end, not a bare wire like the one in this video. Thanks for letting me know. No air con on mine either. I was trying to work out where it is supposed to go but that explains it. Cheers

Excellent explanation Mark, you are definitely my go to guy!!
Thank you Job Manders. I just try to show things how I would like someone to show me. I like everything in black and white.
I don't have a Mini but it's always good to see the details and the method you use. Take a break and stay safe :D
Thank you Karim, have a good weekend.

That spare red wire should feed through the front across to the starter motor?
I think it's for the air conditioner pump if you have that option fitted which would be just below the coolant pump near the alternator.
do you know where i can buy replacement red fueld injector plug clips, i've snapped two of mine....
They go brittle and break easily. Sadly I don't other than looking on eBay.
How did you manage to find out what the red wire was just down from the crank sensor
It’s a common question every MINI owner asks as we all wondered when we see it. I also have a second MINI with air con.
@@CoatsandGaiters ok so the weather is nothing to worry about it's just an air con where thank you
