Sarah Jarosz (with Chris Thile, Rich Dworsky, Brittany Haas, and Paul Kowert) sings "Jacqueline" on our January 14, 2017 show Website: www.sarahjaros... www.prairiehom...
This girl, now woman has amazed me every time I hear her sing. Between Sarah and Aoife O'Donavan we are so blessed by two of the most talented singers and song writers of this new generation. no wonder Chris alternates them on his show. I love the new PHC.
My days, she's got a wonderful sound. I just heard this performance on PHC the other day and was instantly captivated. We can only count our blessings sometimes with artists like this. Beautiful work.
Lovely. It loses some of the solemness and intimacy when it's not solo, but I still rather enjoyed this performance. The fiddle was probably the most distracting, and probably should have been a bit more low-key in hindsight. Sarah's guitar needed a boost. Can't wait to hear some big names try to cover some of these monster songs on her new album!
with some more time rattling around in my brain, and thanks to what we've been hearing from I'm With Her lately, this arrangement has actually grown on me quite a bit!
Jarosz loves ambiguity in her songs - let the listener decide what the song is about. I envision some one newly alone walking in the Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir conjuring up Jackie, a newly alone Jackie, as her imaginary companion.
Love that fiddle. Such inventive backup. Beautiful sound. Never hear a miss from Ms. Jarosz.
Just beautiful!
Reminds me of Gillian Welch❤
What a beautiful tribute to Jacqueline Kennedy...

Amazingly beautiful!!
My God, Sarah... That was so beautiful it actually hurt. Between you, Aoife and Chris I really don't know why I'd ever listen to anyone else...
From that first Austin City Limits video I continue to be amazed. I
have to see Sarah, Chris, and Aoife live. Its on my bucket list.
Goose bumps !

Fortaleza Ceará Brasil. ❤
Heart warming by warm musicians, Sarah is incredible !
Heard her on NPR public radio. Very good
So good.
Sublime. Sarah is amazing!!!!
Huge Sarah fan here. I must say I loved seeing Chris with his eyes closed, absolutely transcending :)
So true. Thile is ever amazing, and this APHC band... whoa. The additions of Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O'Donovan are just brilliant.
Such a stunning song.
Lovely tune. Beautiful voice. Looking forward to seeing the new PHC live at the Fitz.
Voice from heaven
Lovely Melody, Modern Folk Musical Muses! Acoustically!

Amazing voice MyLady!!
She's great. She reminds me of a young Joni Mitchell. Maybe a combination of Joni Mitchell and Patty Griffin. For me, that's pretty high praise.
jweyek So agree! Joni Griffin :)
Throw in a healthy does of Tim O'Brien too
Nah, Gillian Welch all the way.
Holy...
Jeez, that's so, so pretty.
I love watching Brittany dance with her head at the beginning. If she were to join I'm With Her I think I would become a groupie.
Similar little hook as Kurt Vile “BlackBerry Song” - powerful little phrase.
Who wrote that beautiful arrangement?
Gabriel Kahane (who writes his own incredible stuff too)
Anyone know what chords she plays for this?

Yes, cheers to the versatile Brittany Haas!

Try Alexa Wildish RUclips solo cover version of this song, credited to Sarah. It’s awesome too.
:-)
What an amazing song, see her walking there, in her bright pink dress. So sad. So poignant.
Is this song about Jacqueline Kennedy? Pink dress, pill box hat.....hmmm. 'Guess you had to be there.

I've read that it's about the Reservoir where Sarah sometimes walks (in Central Park NY), so she's imagining Jackie's spirit there.
@@kurisu_rpg I am listening to a rebroadcast and confirm that Chris Kern is correct. Sarah explained just before she sang the song
