THe sparks are due to the brushes making contact with the core(magnet) while it rotates,it's normal with brushed drills. It should go down since the brushes are being broken in.
I have the 2014 models, cant fault them until now where the impact driver's battery can barely hold a charge, the combi drill's battery is still perfect. I have dropped them off ladders, work horses, worked in the rain with them, dropped timber on them, u name it, they have been through hell, of course the makita, dewalts and hitachi are better but not by alot, they just drill holes and drill in screws at the end of the day, for the price u can get these stanley fatmax drills for its worth it, u can get 2 of these sets for 1 hitachi, dewalt or makita impact driver and dont mention festool...and then they got u by the balls with the batteries cause the unit can be £390.00 and once u have invested in that unit u dont want to give it up. with fatmax the batteries are affordable and if it lasts 2 years which it will its more than worth it.
I am a carpenter, and i do a lot of metal work as well i bought this exact stanley combo and they havent missed a beat never let me down.Being british and all,i have used makita and most of the other brands i found stanley to be up there with the best,in my opinion that is i even was able to find near new batterys and charges second hand for very cheap off the interweb i have had them now for 4 years and the batterys have started to lose a bit of luster but thats ok i now have spares.
Ive got the stanley fatmax fmc641-xe impact driver. Doesnt actually say brushless on the rear & it doesnt hav the battery indicator. I like it, its ok for a mid range tool even if it is made in china!
Nice video. I need to remove some rear brake caliper retainers on my car. It’s a T14 tri square torx bolt. I have the 3/8 inch adapter. Do you think it is up to removing them as they will be on tight…
It’s the brush motor causing sparks it’s perfectly normal this is what it should do unless it was brushless. Ignore all the sarcastic comments not everyone knows
sparks are normal, even the pro drills like hilti have them, if you don't want sparks buy a brushless drill. Secondly you are measuring the chuck's offset wrong, take a hilti or metabo and measure it the same way and the reading will be terrible, always measure from the center using a straight quality drill bit.
ооооо, сколько мест там для грязи и пыли, тупость сделать такое , наоборот нужно дизайн упрощять, хотя если вы не позиционируете свой инструмент как профессиональный то в принцыпе он и в пыли не будет
mmmmmm what do you actually do as a JOB ? I have been a carpenter for many many years and i have gone through a lot of drill and the 2 makes that have never let me down is fat max and dewalt and in all fairness i use stanley 70% of the time they are well made and tough i hate these reviews straight from the box use them for a year or so then review
Completely useless run out test as your checking runout on the outside of the chuck you need a known straight rod to run in the drill to check drill runout and sparking is the electric arc from the brush to the commutator *normal* try just saying you like them and what you have found them usefull for like removing oil pan ect..

Пользуюсь таким пол года доволен , единственный нюанс зазор в посадочном батарей , несколько рас падали с высоты около 2 м все норм .
Спустя три года работы на стройке все хорошо , кипил доп акум на 4 Ампера не нарадуюсь .

Nice video Nev. Thx for reviewing these. Subscribed.
What is your choice between dewalt dual set and stanley dual set for amateurs? Please bearing in mind the prices.
The electrical arching smell is normal for most new drills
A Young Woodworker yes it is pal

How many nm of torque does the driver hav?
Those are re-badged Porter Cable brushed drills. You can't beat them at their price and they seem to be popular around mechanic types.
Actually, these are just labelled Porter Cable in the USA, but their market is bigger outside of the USA as Stanley Fatmax.
Nice cat man, what are you showing it for?
What a dickhead electrical arc it's the copper contact of the motor making the spark it's totally normal on non brushless .motors
Is that hammer drill this model Stanley Cordless Hammer Drill, SCH20C2K-B5, Li-Lon, 18V? Ty
Helllo, where to find Your flexible dial meter holder?
btw i just bought stanley 627
Are you aware of how a DC brush motor works?
It’s the brush motor causing sparks it’s perfectly normal this is what it should do unless it was brushless. Ignore all the sarcastic comments not everyone knows
Stanley have the same type of batteries with the DeWalt?
no
the front end of the chuck should have a loose collar that spins independent of the chuck
The real question is do u beleive their clam of 180nm on the impact cause i certainly dont.
The impact driver does not always work when you press trigger i took first one back after only one use , the replacement does the same! 😤
I cannot take a man serious if he is going to wear womens slippers & children's PJ ,
Those are yellow porter cables
No issues with mine can't fault them.

Disregarding this entire review since you don't even know about the sparking. Muppet.
