Yes, yes and more YES! Love it. Was thinking fenders blacked out to match and some kind of colour on the tank like a 48 sportster would finish that beautifully. But whatever you do, it's going to look the business. Awesome job Del... and not forgetting, Penny! ;)

Hi D&P, great video and nice to see it coming together. The painted parts look great and suit the build to a T. FYI I am still working my way back through your Street Fighter vids. I like them as I go but refrain from commenting as I figure that project is done and gone. And it's neat to see your workshop and gear evolving. Keep up the flow. Your sessions are like a visit with a dear friend.
Nice job Del Looks sweet mate, tasteful with a big drop of super cool. Just got back from a 200 k ride & topped it off with a Del video! Penny and you have a very relaxing weekend. Cheers
so with your high tech jubilee clip holder, thread the cable tie through itself backwards so it doesn't catch - the pile of clips looks like it lives in a drawer or something so the cable tie doesn't need to bite down hard, just to keep the clips together, and this way it will give enough friction for it not to slide out but you can just open it by hand and not waste a cable tie every time you want one jubilee clip. My old pop would be furious at you snipping that every time haha. Beaut looking build, the black paint came up a treat. Rocker covers are superb and the exhaust covers look nice too, I wasn't sure if I'd like them but on the bike they are great. Few rust spots on the frame etc that would have been nice to sort out while the bike is in pieces, but I'm a patient man and I'll reserve comment for the end of the build. Cant wait to see the final product mate, good stuff
Aww del it's looking good I am loving the contrast between the black and chrome I am really looking forward to seeing this up and running this is as they say my CUP OF TEA 👍👍

Hi Geoff, yes indeed, and with the price of Harleys these days, it's a great second option... you can put some of this amazing legendary equipment on an old Harley and even collectively at the end, it won't equal the price of a new one... and you get a bike that will stand apart from others and never date! Hi Byron, good to hear from you as ever, I thought you might enjoy this build, we've been blessed with some truly awesome supoport from the guys in Germany and, of course, our viewers and Patrons, which keeps the bills paid and makes sure we can continue to upgrade and advance the 'operation', nobody wants to watch the same videos in the same garage year in, year out, so we've been lucky to be able to keep improving and keep things moving forward! Do you still have your Harley, it must be nearly about time to get out in the sunshine over there on west coast? Have a great weekend, D&Px
IMO The rear fender is what sets off the bike. A lot like the duck tail spoilers on old muscle cars, its subtle style with out going over the top. I love the balance of black and chrome as well. Huge fan of both the Night Train and Wide Glide, great direction on this build.
aha Matthew, at last someone who truly 'gets it'... you're right the ducktail fender is unique, but many don't know that these have a 32degree fork rake so being stretched out at the front 4degrees more than any other big twin frame, they can carry the long lines... appreciate your support mate, glad you're enjoying!
Looking forward to see the final outcome, great work so far, and as you said you wanted black with chrome accent is really starting to show. I like it.
It's realy starting to take shape now Del, I realy like the black & chrome combo and as someone who has never really been a Harley fan boy I'm mighty impressed...👍

Looking good Del! I've been waiting for this video for a long time! Not sure you'd remember or not, but I'm restoring my late Uncle's 2000 Wide Glide and I've been wanting to see what the black rocker covers were going to look like with chrome lower rockers, since I had really bad chrome flake on the tops just like you did. I've already got them to the side and sanded down, just waiting for a warm enough couple days without rain to get them painted. I'm in the cam chest now about to replace the tensioners.

One additional benefit of greasing the gasket is that it makes gasket scraping MUCH easier, assuming you're the next one to access it...and assuming it's the type that likes to cling. There are few jobs worse than scraping gaskets!

@@Moonfleet41 Thank you that is much appreciated. I have a 1991 Kawasaki ZZR600. As a matter of interest how often do you have to go back and look at the dismantling videos to remember how to reinstall? Do you take photos as well or are you blessed with a photographic memory? In any case, well done, another first class video.
Hi there, yeah I just used regular LM2 grease, purely to allow the rubber gaskets to slither in to their natural position... a bone dry rubber gasket against dry metal can sometimes be tacky and refuse to move, so they can get hung up and distorted when you fit them... the grease allows them to find their natural place... depending on which clutch cover gasket you have, it's pretty much the same drill, the rubber ring that fits in to the derby cover, I always grease that for the same reasons as other rubber gaskets, but if you have the card disc, then I just put the merest of a greasy thumb around the face of the primary cover as the bonded rubber ring on the card disc is very soft and pliable and stays where it's put due to being bonded on to the disc...
I love your work Del, so I guess I'm just going to trust you on the rear fender :) Can't wait! Oh, did I tell you, I don't like Harleys............. :)

I am getting there all be it a bit slower than expected.
@@CortinasAndClassics Good luck with it Simone, hope it goes well, stick at it !
As a matter of interest how often do you have to go back and look at the dismantling videos to remember how to reinstall? Do you take photos as well or are you blessed with a photographic memory? In any case, well done, another first class video.
No buddy, just 30yrs experience, you get to know how they go back together when you've done a few hundred times lol!
Looks better with each video.
Always nice to work on a harley ;-)
That's looking mighty fine
Looks amazing Del, nice one!
Thanks Martin, good to hear from you buddy.. Hope life is good.. Del.
hi,
i like your work very much and learn a lots thanks a lot,
can you put a copper anti seize instead of grease on the gasket ?
No!
Realmente espetacular você é perfeito parabéns
Did you use normal grease or gasket sealant on your gaskets? Abd what would you use for your clutch cover?
