Come with me to find out what you should have a Benidorm holiday this summer
Benidorm is a sunshine paradise on Spain's eastern Costa Blanca coast. This resort town is a magnet for tourists seeking golden beaches, exciting theme parks, and a sizzling nightlife scene.
Here's what makes Benidorm such a great holiday destination:
Perfect weather: Escape the cold with Benidorm's near-perfect climate. Sunshine almost every day and average temperatures around 26°C (79°F) year-round make it a perfect escape for sun-seekers.
Stunning beaches: Two beautiful golden-sand beaches dominate Benidorm's appeal: Playa de Levante and Playa de Poniente. These beaches are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and trying out various water sports.
Thrilling water parks: Get your adrenaline pumping at Aqualandia, a water park with heart-stopping slides, refreshing wave pools, and relaxing lazy rivers. For a more laid-back vibe, Mundomar offers water fun with animal shows and a selection of tamer slides.
Terra Mítica Theme Park: Take a trip through time at Terra Mítica, a theme park where rides, shows, and restaurants are inspired by ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Iberian Peninsula.
Terra Natura Zoo: Immerse yourself in the animal kingdom at Terra Natura, a zoo that recreates different animal habitats from around the world. See lions, tigers, monkeys, and a variety of other animals in a natural setting.
Old Town Charm: Escape the lively new town area and discover the charming Old Town. Explore narrow streets lined with traditional tapas bars and historic sites like the Church of San Jaime y Santa Ana.
Lively Nightlife: If you're looking to party, Benidorm won't disappoint. The town is famous for its vibrant nightlife scene, with bars, clubs, and discos to cater to all preferences.
Delicious Food: Indulge in delicious Spanish cuisine, from fresh seafood paella to tapas and local wines. There are also plenty of international restaurants to choose from.
Family-Friendly: With its beaches, water parks, and theme parks, Benidorm is a great choice for families. There are plenty of activities and attractions to keep children entertained.
Excellent Value: Benidorm offers fantastic value for money. You can enjoy a memorable holiday in Benidorm without breaking the bank, with a wide range of accommodation options to suit all budgets.

44.50 The Les Dunes Apartments used to be the 'Hotel Les Dunes'
My very first foreign holiday as a teenager in 1985. ❤😊
It was a lovely Colonial style hotel with a beachfront pool area, actually situated above where those people are sitting in the shade.
There were a flight of steps upto the main entrance and the pool and pool bar to the right. All pretty much above that street level area that exists today.
The hotel was clearly demolished at some point to make way for that mini skyscraper.
2 weeks of heaven at the time for my teenage self.🎉
That shop 'Valentinos' was then a bar/restaurant frequented by families with live music and I remember lots of kids and adults dancing to 'Agadoo!' 😊
Shame in this instance I can't upload photos to this platform.
To be honest what was there before was far more pleasing on the eye...a bit like my former six pack! 😂
Good to see that at least the name still remains. 👍🏼
