-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.c...
"Killer Queen" "In The Lap of the Gods" "Stone Cold Crazy" oh hell, the whole Album is awesome. I was the class of"74 and Queen was the epitome of what a Rock and Roll band should look and sound like!!
This is my fav Queen LP
Class of 75 here and yep. Their 1st album kicked azz also.
The first album has some of the best hard rock ever, right away they were great band and just evolved into utter legends forever.
I am high-school class of 1976. I saw them in 75 at the Beacon Theater in NYC. …2 nights in a row. INCREDIBLE…. I stood in line for 4 hours to get my QUEEN II album autographed at a record store in Herald Square, Its my prized possession.
@@montysmegma4649 Wow!
What blows my mind about so much music from back then is that so many bands would have these crushing, metal-like songs, that were WAYYY different from any music that came before-hand, and then the same album would have an incredibly soft and beautiful song on it. It was such an incredibly experimental time for music.
Exactly. This was part of the art..oh hahahah..
People like to say that Queen are overrated but I feel like it's the opposite. I guess you could say that their most popular hits are appropriately rated but gems like this one(and there are many) are underrated. I hope you do more Queen reactions!
NOBODY I know does!
@@rogerstarkey5390 There more rocking metal stuff from first 4 albums is there peak era.
@@joemahon3284 Id also wanna add the last 2 albums, non-posthumous, The Miracle and moreso Innuendo went back into their hard rock roots and fused it beautifully with their newer sounds they developed
Those people can't name a single song that wasn't listed on their greatest hits album.
@@Gadiller-we7wl Its honestly sad bc their deep cuts, or really anything that isnt their hits, are usually just better overall songs flat out, but the average person who just knows the hits probably wouldnt take the time to check it out bc theyd assume its like a lot of other bands where the album songs are just super similar to the popular tracks just not as good, even tho many bands also have amazing deep cuts, the average listener doesnt understand that
Brian tears this song up! John is thumping the bassline, the drums are perfect throughout and of course, Freddie's voice is great as it always is. The best way to start an album. Queen chose the order of their songs on their albums with a lot of attention to detail because they believed that an album was to be listened to from start to finish and it should be a logical progression.
One of the best albums to enjoy from start to finish, not one bad song at all.
Liar off their first album, is an absolute banger!
The whole first album is awsome, one my favorites.
Brian May has always, ALWAYS been criminally underrated!!
No he hasn't. I think it was just a couple of years ago he was voted the greatest guitarist on the planet.
I concur with bigdave,Brian May has regularly been voted the greatest guitarist of all time 🎸
The first time I heard Queen was "Killer Queen." I still remember where I was. I went out and bought this album. REALLY liked it, then went out and bought Queen 1 & 2. LOVED both of those. Then they came to a converted movie theater. Saw them there. I've been a BIG Queen fan ever since.
Great stuff. Thank God I grew up when I did. I still remember my friend up the street playing for me his new album, News of the World.
I still love this album nearly 50 years after I first heard and compulsively listened to it as an 11 or 12 year old. The music we grew up listening to is one of the clear distinctions between this and the following generations.
Early Queen-ABSOLUTELY AWESOME 👌🏻
You have to listen to Queen II just for the recording techniques alone. Very intricate stuff and amazing that they did it all in an analog studio with no computer editing.
Now that's an opening to an album lol
Brighton Rock was a banger live!!!!!
This is the album that turned me onto Queen. A classic!!! Saw them in ‘76 and ‘77 when they played 4 or 5 songs from this album in concert.
1974, I was 10 and just getting into music...this was one of my 1st Albums
one guitar, two single echoes. Result, mindfuck genius.
Queen 1 and 2 are epic!!! Great reaction guys. Thank you and best wishes from the UK.
Queen were the beginning of everything !✌🏼
Absolutely killer album. This and Queen II were their best.
What he said
Yep, and all in the same year too.
Gotta hope that Queen-II gets the attention it deserves definately!
Brad...you forgot to add “in my opinion”...everything is subjective....everything Queen produced is out of this world....in my opinion😁
@@josephinemonahan915 you're right.
Dude’s. Brighton Rock LIVE will blow your minds.
The whole guitar(s) track(s) here are about as groundbreaking and revolutionary as anything you'll ever find...
You'll love this then ;)

Tie Your Mother Down and Keep Yourself Alive sold me on this band.
Love the old Queen stuff, pre 80's.Awesome!👍🇬🇧
Best heard in concert. Sound swirls all around the stadium.
Just ONE of my favourite Queen albums.
One of the best albums ever. You’re right, it’s criminal how this album isn’t respected more.
legends.
I was 14 in 1974. That WHOLE TIME was one of experimentation and pushing musical boundaries. Look at all the great rock bands who came from that time, many of which are still going today, 50 years on....
Finally! Back at my favourite band! 👑🔥🎸🥂 Thanks
The first 3 Queen albums are awesome and that was before "they were famous"...
You should have chosen Queen II. Criminally underrated recording
Queen II is actually totally amazing! March of the Black Queen is one of my all time favourites by Queen!
@@OberonOZ I will always hold the opinion that March of the Black Queen is a far superior song to Bohemian Rhapsody.
People always talk about “Night At The Opera” as Queen’s best, but to me, it’s no contest: SHEER HEART ATTACK” is their masterwork. Brilliant from first note to last.
Brighton Rock live Live killers. Must hear
First song on Queens' first album 'Keep yourself alive' deserves your attention.
Freddie Mercury's vocal range is incredible.
My favorite Queen album. I love how every song leads into the next. Brian May just shreds on Brighton Rock. Stone Cold crazy is also killer
So does Queen 2!
Most of the time Queen was only famous for their "radio" played songs. But...there are gems like this hidden within every single album. Great review man.
Sheer Heart Attack is my favorite Queen album!
Queen was very hard rock. This album also contains Stone Cold Crazy.
This was the beginning of Queen's "classic albums" period. Sheer Heart Attack, Night at the Opera, Day at the Races, News of the World and All that Jazz. The pinnacle of Queen's 'no synths' era.
Some of the cleanest fast paced playing I have ever heard - particularly guitar and drums. Don’t think I have ever heard this song before, and I loved it, so thanks for bringing it to us!
My favorite Queen album is Queen 2, but their first four albums are all pretty equally great.
Definitely their best album. Now I'm Here is another favourite of mine
Try Seven seas of Rye from 1973 ,the first single in the uk.I saw them on their first tour, and knew then that Queen was something special.
Ahh sounds of my youth.. early Queen is best
This is my favorite Queen album and one of my favorite Queen songs.
Yeah, man, Queen was astounding at the time and kind of still are. I mean, put yourself within the context of there never having heard anything like Queen before, and here they come bursting out of the gate fully formed like that. Jaws dropped.
Despite all the high feelings old Queen fans have about Queen+AL, I hope you've seen them. I have, only twice, but it was a dream come true to finally hear Roger and Brian play (Nashville and Charlotte) and AL's voice is astounding and beautiful. Yes, we all know he can't fill Freddie's shoes and we wish to God that was Freddie on stage singing, but AL is allowing old people like me to hear this band again! I'm so old that I've been to many more concerts than I can count or remember now and these two concerts were superior to any I've ever seen before, in spite of being the hits with only a couple of deep cuts! The audiences were incredibly involved and happy!
IMHO. Their best album !
Saw Queen as support to Mott The Hoople .A fantastic gig .Two incredible bands , one unforgettable experience.
I was able to see Queen twice 1st time the opening band was Billy Squire 2nd was a band called Dakota saw them with the spectrum in Philadelphia My favorite song on the whole Album is that short little ditty called Misfire
And, of course, they sing something like "down in the city just Hoople and me" as a lyric in "Now I'm Here". As a MTH fan at that time, I loved that!
This song was the jewel in the great soundtrack of "Baby Driver", featured twice in that movie. You guys should watch it for the soundtrack & the amazing driving in the action scenes.
AND you need to watch Brian (our dear Dr. May) play this at Wembley on Queen's 1986 tour. It was filmed 2 nights in a row, one of those nights in the rain. Just fantastic to watch (& here on RUclips). Brian & the Red Special, his homemade guitar, are simply magical.
It's good to see you getting back to Queen. Remember, Queen fans helped build your channel. And we still love you (& them)!
💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙
Fun fact: One of the opening acts on this tour was Kansas.
Reactions to live Queen would be great--maybe even the entire 1986 Wembley Concert.
Every Christmas I watch live at Wembley both nights it's become a Christmas tradition
...umm this IS going on my playlist!!
I've never heard it before. Goosebumps moments. Great tune.
One of the best Queen songs! Brings back memories when I was a teenager and just couldn't get enough of this! Nice haircut Alex...!
Great to see you guys discovering more Queen. It’s definitely been a while. I actually think the early success of your channel is 100% down to Andy reacting to Queen. It drew in so many of your followers. Great work guys 👍🏼
GOOOOOOOD AFTERNOON A&A FAMILY!!!!
☮️💟♾️
One of the best three album runs ever, Queen II to Sheer Heart Attack, to Night at the Opera. Ogre Battle from Queen II is peak thrash. They also have a *song* called Sheer Heart Attack, but it's on News of the World.
Yep! And by the time the track got recorded for News of the World, it transformed into a blistering answer to the Sex Pistols and Punk Rock.
Alex & Andy, thank you! You really should listen to the longer live version of "Brighton Rock" from the 'Live Kilers' album from 1979. The extended solo by Brian is amazing, as well as Roger's Typanni solo.
I had this song stuck in my head a couple days ago. Good one, thanks guys.
It makes me smile SO BIG when people your age have the capability to appreciate 1970s Queen. And this is a great song! Thanks for reacting to it! Much love, you two. 💚💜
Brighton ROCKHHH... !!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Check out the Live Killers version 🤯
Great album........
A&A, I see you've done 35 reactions to Queen. You'll love their "You're My Best Friend" or "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"!!
Thank you guys for finally getting back to some Queen!! Keep it going!! Lots more to explore!!
I’d love to see you guys reaction to Great King Rat such a great song !
Ogre Battle, try that one for an early Queen for a start…👍👍👍
The first three Queen albums are so unique - nothing like it before or since - even by Queen. Certainly 'progressive' without the requisite synth wizardry the genre implies. But ground-breaking vocals, truly creative songcraft that defies categorization, and incredible, underappreciated guitar work from Brian May. For me, Sheer Heart Attack was their peak even though most of their hits came afterwards.
Great Album👏👏👏👏❤️Love Queen Freddie the best
Thank you for this reaction. I love early Queen.
More Queen please
Awesome to see you guys getting back to Queen, you should do Queen II, that is another great and bonkers album. Queen I is also great, songs such as The Great King Rat, My Fairy King, Doing Alright. Liar and the very heavy Son and Daughter. Loads of metal artist drew inspiration from the first 3 Queen albums, for example Judas Priest, Megadeath, Metallica Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Queensryche, Van Halen, Saxon, Twisted Sister, Dream Theater, Ygnwie Malmsteen ext. ext. Dream Theater has done a nice cover on Tenement Funster, Flick Of The Wrist and Lily of The Valley from this album.
Great analysis, thanks guys! What a kick ass rockin’ tune! Never heard this before until now. The musicianship, vocals, harmonizing, percussion, and guitar work just blew me away!
Queen's first album is AMAZING!!!
When I first heard this song way back when at my friend's house as a kid, I didn't even realize it was Queen. I had never heard anything like it before from any band.
Well someone finally got around to this one. 😉 Bought this the day released, and the secrets of Queens’ talents were gone. This album broke them out. Brian May’s precision is still jaw dropping. 🤘😎
On their early albums they always printed a disclaimer that "no synthesizers were used on this recording" - LOL. Brian May was sensitive about some people thinking his guitar work was the result of a synth.
I think, on the first album anyway, it was because of the vocals.
@@mikeowens6389 all albums had this disclaimer up until The Game, when they started using synths
You would be too if you could play like Brian lol
Gotta love early Queen!
Metallica obviously loved this as they covered Stone Cold Crazy.
Brian at his best! This album is quite an eclectic mix isn’t it?
Yay! Queen again after such a long time! First album I ever bought! Still love it today 😊
I still have the 8 track tape....remember cruising around town blasting this
My absolute favorite Queen song since hearing it upon release.
Lucky to see Queen perform Brighton Rock live. In a small auditorium, up close and personal. Images of Brian May centre stage, still stay with me. 😊
Great King Rat and Keep Yourself Alive of the first album are great too. That would be an excellent album to review.
Do you get now why our generation are crazy about queen.
I remember waiting for their next album in the 70s,
Fantastic album. Has to be listened to in it's entirety to appreciate the journey.
OMG .. My #3 favorite Queen song!! Thank you .. thank you!! The song was featured in the film Baby Driver!! Written by Brian inspired by the 1947 novel with the same name .. about an ill-fated love affair!!
Happy you got to hit Queen again fellas. Awesome song from an even more awesome Album, probably my favorite Queen album depending on my mood😅
Nice! Looking forward to your reactions to Stone Cold Crazy....
It's Late is your next Queen track. Been trying to get y'all to do that one since the dorm room days. Get your shit together and do it. Promise you won't regret it.
Saw them in '74 in The Hague, Netherlands. The theatre was half empty because they were not very well known yet. Unforgettable concert!
One of my favorite albums for sure. Their 1st seven albums have been in my regular rotation since the late 70's. The production is pretty raw on the 1st album, but the 1st through the 5th are all chock full of the no-holds-barred "Bohemian Rhapsody" vibe. The 6th & 7th start to veer into more traditional territory but still have a very healthy dose of Queen's traditional flair & originality. And their's lots of good stuff in the rest of their catalog, but IMO the 1st seven are classics.
absolutely luv the 1st -5 albums especially a Day at the Races
Agreed. Although to this day I still find Jazz to be a little iffy. Many of the songs have grown on me (I rediscovered “Dead On Time” as one of their hidden metal thrashers.) But I still have trouble listening to the album from start to finish, all these years later…😏
@@JK-ld8cd Yep. "Long Away" is my favorite Brian song and "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" has my favorite Brian solo. Great album all around
@@kirkhassett8726 I get that. But there's enough highlights for me to group it with the others. And for sure "Fun It" is my favorite Roger track.
@@Another_Broke_Musician Both songs are great!
Brighton is a town in England. This album is absolutely killer. So glad you hit this. I love Brian May's guitar work here. So cool how he plays with an Echoplex and does harmony lines with himself. Too much.
A great song to watch them do live. One man, his guitar and his collection of foot pedals.
I remember on the album cover it said "No synthesizers were used on this album" because of the guitar tones used. I saw them on tour opening for Mott the Hoople. Didn't know much about them then but I sure liked what I heard that night. Great stuff.
I was 13 when I bought this way back late 74 or early 75 , my favorite band since the first time I heard
Killer Queen/ Flick of the Wrist on 45 , I listened to it over and over and over again when I discovered that record in my older brothers room , the rest is history , my history .
You have to check out one of Queen's LIVE performances of Brighton Rock! Brian May's guitar solo will blow you away!
Ogre Battle on Queen 2. It's like Iron Maiden, but with a good singer, and a little bit of harpsichord thrown in. Brian is blistering, Deacon is so creative, perfect drums and of cause, Freddie. It's worth a listen, and make you want to deep dive into early Queen.
Definitely interested to see your reaction to Bring Back That Leroy Brown.
And Brian is still playing a version of this to this very day.
I thought it was on the wrong speed at first!
If you like thrash metal , you need to listen to side two of Queen two. The heaviest thrash metal Queen ever played.
