5 bags. 2 below with post and 3 above so the deer don't eat the ground up and create big holes.

How long did it take once set up the deer started using it and getting use to it ?

Within a couple days. Right now it can be hard to get them to eat out of them if they aren't used. Are you feeding just corn or something along the lines of Heavy Rack Deer Feed?
