TIN CUP - The Perfect Beginner Trail!

- Tin Cup is arguably the ideal trail for someone who is brand new to off-roading. This 18 mile looped trail will take you through sandy wash outs, slick mud and a few decieving water holes. This trail system is rated Green and can essentially be run in two wheel drive with a good set of tires. If you're new to off-roading, I encourage you to check this trail out!

Thanks for taking us round the trail. I hope to have a vehicle capable of going out there later this year.
No problem! Any standard four wheel drive is capable of tackling that trail. I think I was in two wheel drive most if not the entire trail.
Did about 8 hrs of trails over the weekend son is going to be attending Ferris in the fall. I can wait to get our 2dr JK’s on these. Two hours north of us and just beautiful trails and scenery. Wish people kept the trash out though.
Yeah the trash on the trails is not cool. I try my best to pick up what I can in hopes others will do the same. That’s a solid weekend of trail riding. Hope you had fun!
I would be up for some volunteer weekends wheeling and cleaning
I did most of this in a stock subaru with all seasons. Didn't have maps or really know where I was going so I didn't finish but I plan on being back with some better maps and upgrades to the rig. Didn't expect to lose reception tbh.
I feel like this trail could be done by a properly equipped Subaru. I would imagine some spots could get pretty muddy after a good rain.
great video!!
Thank you for sharing^_^
Thank you very much!
Looks almost the same as Tin Cup Pass in Colorado 😜
Haha! I’m sure the Colorado trail is much more scenic! 🤣
Awsome content and 📷 work.
Thank you I appreciate that! It’s definitely an easy trail so not to many crazy areas. However, it’s a common trail many Michiganders like to run so I wanted to highlight it.
In big rapids ran several trails here today. Thinking of hitting tin cup then to silver lake.
Nice! This video shows you the entire Tin Cup loop trail. There are also various offshoot trails to explore!
Another great video! Hey, what are you using for your sunglasses clip?
Thanks! And I think the sunglass clip is just a cheap one from the dollar store 😂
I just picked up a Gladiator, I had a 2 door Jk on ko2s and now on the gladiator I have the factory Bridgestone duelers and they aren’t to most aggressive, thought about going on on this trail, do you think that this trail would be too much for that kind of tire?
This trail would be totally doable with just about any tire. I didn’t engage four wheel drive at all. Have fun!
@@TrailExpedition Sweet! Thank you!
@johnguenther5964 no problem!
The bumpiest trail I've ever been on in Michigan. We absolutely hate this loop because of it. Too many sxs and dirt bikes make this trail unusable and unsafe for any normal sized vehicles. Use caution if you check it out around any of the hills. The area is beautiful, but the washboards are horrendous.
Agreed. The washboard areas are mostly by the entrances. Honestly wasn’t as bad as I remember. Probably because it’s the tail end of winter and most bikes and sxs aren’t out there that time of the year.
@@TrailExpedition oh yeah for sure. Winter isn’t as bad as summer definitely. The down side to winter is those washboard areas in the winter become rock hard and in the summer they just multiply. Thats why we avoid it anymore these days. If you could have the sections that are smooth throughout the entirety of this loop, it’d be enjoyable.
@@jeepboyz12 agreed. I probably hit it at the right time in March because the washboards were not all that hard and I did not see a single other person.
Sometimes the perfect beginner trail. Lol.
That's where Derek (one of the MST admin) killed his GX from Hydro locking in like a foot of water.
What?! Really!? How is that possible 🤣
@@TrailExpedition yeah that's my exact same thought. I'm wondering if it's either just so empty out of rain or if the guy isn't thinking of the same spot
Wrong comment to respond to but I get what you’re saying 🤣
@@TrailExpedition lol. That's what I get for not checking context. Rofl
@trailtothevoid you’ll have that! Ha!
