  • First Time NFL Reaction with British Guys reacting to NFL Highlights for Week 5’s wildest game, the Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers. The game saw its fair share of mistakes, and the Steelers offense struggled to create. But the Steelers defense, and in particular TJ Watt, were sensational and got them over the line to upset the Ravens.

Steelers fan here. In my opinion the reason for our offensive woes starts with the coaching. Our guys aren’t able to execute the plays they’re being asked to do. But if we’re talking strictly, what happens on the field, our oline and ability to move the trenches is awful. Watching the Steelers vs 49ers really proves the statement “the game is won in the trenches.”

Watt up!! Best defensive player in league and he's proving why again. Pittsburgh led the league in sacks every single year since getting Watt in 2017, except last year when Watt was injured for most of the season, they ranked almost dead last in sacks without him, he makes a huge difference. Plus he forced and recovered the most fumbles since 2017. Beast!

Regarding the struggle on offense for the Steelers, the QB is in his 2nd season, so he has shown flashes but he’s unknown.
The main problem is the offensive coordinator/coaching. Their Offensive Coordinator is the worst coach I’ve ever seen in the NFL and can’t get the receivers open or call decent plays.

Welcome the best rivalry going in the NFL lads. It’s become a meme to say “throw out the record books when these two get together” but it’s absolutely true. My dad is diehard Steelers fan and they could be the best team in football and he still shits a brick every time they play the Ravens. The stat from last week that said they each had 719 points head to head since the Steelers coach was hired beautifully illustrates the rivalry lately

The Ravens and Steelers have had a serious and very physical rivalry since the Ravens came in the league in 1996 (The Colt were originally in Baltimore, but left in 1983 for Indianapolis). Both usually are strong teams and especially have strong, physical defenses. I'm a Ravens fan, and while I'm confident our team is better than Pittsburgh this year, I had no expectations for this game. It's one of those rivalries where it's always a closely fought game no matter how good or bad the teams are; and I fully thought it would come down to the wire like it always does.
Ravens old problems still seem to be there this season unfortunately. Not enough support around Lamar and Lamar making mistakes in big moments himself in the clutch. Story of the last 4 seasons.

This is and has been one of the most heated and consistently competitive rivalries in the NFL since the Ravens’ establishment as a team. Two teams that have been historically great on the defensive end and largely physical teams, their head coaches are two of the longest tenured head coaches in the league (Tomlin for Pittsburgh, Harbaugh for Baltimore), and have the second most head-to-head games against eachother of all time, with only George Halas and Curly Lambeau eclipsing their coaching rivalry. If either of those names aren’t familiar to you Britons, it’s because they haven’t been coaching since the 60s.

TJ could very well break the NFL's season sack record this year. The record for most sacks in a season is 22.5 by T.J. Watt and Michael Strahan who are tied for the record. T.J. already has 8 sacks this season in five games. There's only twelve games left and T.J. Watt is on pace to have 28 sacks this season which would absolutely smash the previous record he's currently tied with.

Hey fellas, every now and then I tune in to one of your videos. Always good to watch. I enjoyed this one particularly because you were watching my Pittsburgh Steelers defeat the dreaded Rat-birds. Just to give you a little background. Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore is probably the biggest rivalry in the NFL. The two teams really don't like each other but there is a mutual respect. It's smash mouth football. You don't see many scores like 34-30 when these two teams play. The final score is generally more like 13-12 when these two teams meet. I'm glad you got to see TJ Watt in action. He truly effects the game as much as a quarterback as a defensive player.

Pittsburgh’s offense shows flashes of skill when in hurry-up mode and the QB is making decisions, but the offensive coordinator frequently calls the absolutely worst play choices. Like, choosing to line the QB up in shotgun formation on 4th and inches.

Steelers fan, here. Offense has been subpar mostly offensive scheme which is awful, given their talent potential, and the offensive line has not been consistently decent--QB running for his life too often and running backs not having holes to run through, but they keep it close and their young QB has shown a way of making big plays at the most crucial times. If the O-line gets it together, they change some of the offensive schemes and get a few key injured players back, they might be a playoff team. In any case, they have the best defensive player in the league with TJ Watt, who is disruptive and very smart, too.

When the announcer said that Pittsburgh "steals a victory" here, there's no pun. They're not the Pittsburgh Stealers... they're the Steelers as a nod to the steelworkers of Pittsburgh. The city was known for its many foundries and steel production up until the early '80s until the U.S. figured out that they could buy steel from China for way cheaper than making it in America. Subsequently, the steel industry has almost completely dried up in the U.S., although Pittsburgh is still referred to at times as The Steel City or Iron City.

Let me explain how Steeler football has gone this season: 3 hours of misery, followed by 3 minutes of heart attack. Every win. The losses are just misery the entire time. Our offense is terrible, which is mostly the fault of Matt Canada, the offensive coordinator. We've been chanting "Fire Canada" at home games whenever the offense goes 3 and out. The defense is the only reason we're not 0-5, and TJ has a legitimate argument for MVP, not that they'd ever give that to anyone but a QB. He's on pace to destroy the single season sack record, which by the way he already tied a few seasons ago.
As for Steelers-Ravens, we fucking HATE each other, it is the nastiest rivalry in the NFL. From about 2005 to 2012, both teams were always good and played the same brand of football, that being hard hitting defense. During that time, they often met in the playoffs in addition to the 2 regular season games, which made it an even bigger deal. It wasn't a question of if somebody was going to be injured in those games, it was a question of how many. In fact, I'm pretty sure most of the NFL Player Safety Initiatives are a result of what they did to each other.

The AFC North (Pittsburgh, Cinci, Baltimore, and Cleveland) is famous for having really intense and heated rivalries. Pretty much every team in the division hates every other team as do the fans. I’ve seen people describe the average AFC North game as a “gang war” 😂😭

Afc North matchups (Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Steelers) are notorious for the underdog covering the spread and the under hitting. Very rarely do we get a clean shootout. Almost impossible

I haven’t read any of the comments because I wanted to say this without reading them but you are right the Steelers offense has been really bad the last couple years coming from a die hard steelers fan since I was a kid but that’s why this was probably as people would consider the game of the week but it’s because everyone was surprised they won

Steel Nation all day!! We are rebuilding right now as an organization, but there are bright spots that can be seen. One of the major changes needs to be with Matt Canada. If you haven’t seen the video already, on the GAME Winning drive/TD he was not even phased or happy at all! Since Kenny Pickett decided to make his own call there at the end. Great football IQ by him.

Every part of my Steelers offense is anemic, the o line can’t protect besides Broderick Jones, no push on run plays, Najee isn’t where he needs to be, Kenny isn’t making the throws he needs, receivers aren’t getting open consistent enough, and matt Canada is the worst OC in football, jaylen Warren and George Pickens are carrying this offense

  • @toxxedgaming3885

Yes, the Steeler offense has been a repeat offender of ineptitude and poor coaching/playcalling. Pickett was the top QB prospect of a poor class the year their previous QB retired, so theyre rolling with him for a few years. Steelers are also maddeningly cautious.

The Ravens absolutely dominated that game. They gave that game to the Steelers who are not a good team at all. Baltimore made some key mistakes and have on trailed for 1 minute and 18 seconds in 5 games this year. This was a game that they absolutely had on lock and let slip away. They are the better team without question. The Steelers have a -31 point differential and the Ravens have a +34 point differential. Meaning the Ravens have outscored their opponents by that number while the Steelers are -31 points to their opponents. This is the definition of a fluke game. This will be the highlight of the Steelers season and the low point for Baltimore who will not only bounce back but go far this season. They play in London on Sunday. Go watch if you can. Lamar is a top tier QB.

As a Steelers fan I can say our offense has struggled constantly. Between the coaching staff calling horrible play calls at times, and the players not preforming as they should. The Steelers have good players on offense they just simple do not know how to use them. The run game is nonexistent as well and Kenny Pickett (quarterback) is constantly getting hit which panics him a lot of times. A lot of that stuff is to blame on the offensive line. The defense has been playing pretty well though. Although they have been blown out in games but you can tell they are simply gassed at times... and I don't blame them as they have won us most of our games if not all. Offense has had a few nice plays this season some to deliver the final blow for a win but other then that.... it has been rough! Also Steelers vs Ravens game are normally always low scoring down the to wire games as they are rivals who have always been neck and neck in the divison they are always really fun to watch. They use to be even better back then around 2008ish.

You guys are watching a division rival game that has become crazy lately. These games are close and low scoring most of the time while Tomlin and Harbaugh have been the HC's no matter how good or bad either team is. Both coaches are old school and stuck in their ways. The steelers are stuck rebuilding their offense at this time so they are struggling and will until they get it fixed. Their defense is much better and they have some good players.

As a representative of Steelers Nation I have to unfortunately inform you that this has been a “rinse, wash, repeat” performance not only of this season but for the last three years under Matt Canada as our Offensive Coordinator……

  • @chadbrisco4042
    @chadbrisco4042 8 месяцев назад

It's definitely an offensive struggle for us. It's mostly our offensive coordinator who doesn't know how to draw up an offensive play to save his life. That's why our receivers and tight ends aren't getting open, it's because the plays he's calling is so predictable because he's used them before. It's easy to keep receivers covered when they're running the same three routes they've ran the last seven drives. Our head coach Mike Tomlin needs to fire him and get a better offensive coordinator to call the offensive plays because he's the main problem along with the offensive line.

As a Steelers fan from Pittsburgh - yes, offense has been a huge struggle. Most fingers point to the offensive coordinator, Matt Canada. He is not a popular name. So much so that not only are fans chanting “Fire Canada!” at Steeler games, but at HOCKEY games in the Penguins home opener. He needs to go, as his play calling is awful!

If I can add to the mystique of TJ Watt a little bit, I will say that TJ had apparently suffered a dislocated finger during the first quarter of this game. Also, I should mention that the edge rusher across from TJ is named Alex Highsmith. He just had a big payday and is earning every penny so far. You'd be hard pressed to find TJ a more worthy Robin to his Batman.

Steelers fan here. Steelers v. Ravens has generally always been this kind of game for the past 20 years or so. Our offense is shaky at best. The team has talented recievers in Pickens, Diontae , Riley, and our tight end Pat Friermuth. The quarterback Kenny Pickett divdes opinion some say he isn't a starting caliber quarterback, others blame the offensive coordinator Matt Canada. While I think Kenny will never be an elite quarterback, he does have a knack for winning games late. I for one think the team has too many weapons for the offense to be this bad. I place the blame on Matt Canada. For however long you follow the NFL always look out for Steelers v. Ravens it almost never dissapoints.
