Loch Doon has been my favourite summer spot in East Ayrshire (Scotland) Great for camp outs and spending the day paddling and enjoying the majestic scenery. Great spot to hike as well.
cant believe you didnt mention Loch Maree! i found out this by accident on my NC500 trip, theres a picnic site at Loch Maree just off A823 before victoria falls, what a hidden gem that place is, parking is free and can launch easly to small islands around Loch Maree, iv seen few people paddle boarding. my plan was to stay there for 2 hours but i loved it so much i stayed for 5hrs! didnt have my paddle board :(
Have you tried SUP Ball yet ? According to the internet, Stand Up Paddle Ball is a combination of netball, water polo, lacrosse, and rugby .. probably easier just to say football on SUPs. Although originally from Australia, it has come to the UK now and looks like fun. Regards from Whitley Bay
@@highlands2hammocks Thank you for your reply. I don't know why I didn't mention it before .. I actually bought a Bluefin Cruise 10'8" board a couple of months ago. It was £449 and came with kayak seat, double paddle and a free 12V pump. Quite a bargain I thought😁 I see there is now a new range of boards .. just different colours .. the 10'8" board is now £599 and no electric pump. 😪 BTW there was SUP racing at Whitley Bay a couple of weeks ago.
I am hoping to go paddleboarding late September in Scotland so your video really helped. I do have a question though…… what’s it like for wild (car) camping to get to the locations? Parking etc?
Great video! Looks pretty cold... ;-) One question: Are these wetsuits enough to paddle in winter when the air is really cold? I heard that you sweat a lot when stand up paddling with a wetsuit and that it gets chilly then. Drysuits are recommended for SUP. What is your opinion and experiences? Cheers! Marcelo

Sounds amazing! We will need to head down that way to check it out then, thanks 😁
We have friends who live in Tay v Allich on the banks of Loch Sween, can’t wait to take my board up there in July 2023
Beautiful part of the world 😁

There are some great lochs around Aberfoyle. Loch Ard and a couple more if you carry on past it.

I’d say they are perfect for that yeah 😁 they are good at trapping the water even above it so that keeps you warm 😊
How about paddle board spots around the Isle of Skye and outer Hebrides? Thanks!
We never got the chance to get it out when we visited Skye, mostly due to the horizontal rain haha! Definitely on the list 😆
Good video!
Thanks!
Love it
thank you!
I paddle the 12 carbon and use it here in the south west of France. You'll find lots of paddles on my site. Sub'd your interesting site. Thanks
That sounds amazing!! Southern France is such a dream haha thanks for watching!!
SUP as an adrenaline activity? You've got to be joking - or 90 years old - make that 95.
I definitely feel it some days, I'm not going to lie
