Gary you are a fabulious teacher.I love a knowledgeable man.just something about watching men do this type of work, i love to watch it. I use to watch my Dad work on his truck. I learned a few things from my Dad. I love all the love and kindness shown in this video. So very happy for you Mike an Lyssa.Gary you are a blessing ,thank you for being such a kind loving soul. Loved watching this progress take place ,thank you for Shareing your world with the world.❤😊👍
Ha y'all seeing how you put the window above two outlets, you may want to replace them with the GFI. Just to be on the safe side, we al forget to shut windows 😂😂 big ❤️
All the help & experience Mike has given to other ppl’s builds will be very handy. And the Framily will always be there to pay the favor back, like today. Now that the window’s in, you’ll be able to finish the insulation & get started on drywall. Then it’ll go fast
@@driftingdreamers5 we all know how fast you & Uncle David can complete drywall in a pinch bc you did it in his tiny house in record time. I’ve renovated & restored 3 houses(restoring original work in our 1898 house is a LOT harder then new builds like yours). The BEST advice I can give you is to make a project list & give yourself a deadline for each project. It’ll keep you organized & motivated. If you REALLY want to challenge yourselves, write up the project list in order as things that need to be done, set a deadline for each task & share it with us. We’ll keep you motivated!!
The reason the measurement had to be lowered, Gary measured 6 inches higher to begin with, from the top, right under 2x4. I was telling you, but you could not hear me, the window should have been 6 inches higher, it would have also matched 😂the other windows in the house, if you look new window sets lower. It still turned out great, window height for Your oldest son will be little low to look out! Alls well that ends well, was a small mistake, good that Gary & Mary came & helped you out. Love both of your channels, never miss one, I am 81, my husband & i built our home, so i have a little knowledge to how things are done!
Nice work guys! Gary you are a valuable tool to have around! It's great to see you use your knowledge to help in situations like Mike had. The window looks so good! Well done! All the closer to getting the shouse completed for the boys!
Mike you have a wonderful teacher Gary I am watching and learning from Gary I have two doors to put up I have to make a door case for them I wish I was close to Gary
Hi Gary Mike and Lyssa. Another step closer to a shouse. Gary is a wealth of wisdom reminds me of my dad. Some great knowledge to fall back on when doing serenity’s window, not forgetting OHS Mike 😂 stay safe. Lyssa must happy as a pig in mud to see such great progress. Maybe just a thought to consider is a part time job for funds to fix the Betty boo car situation. Get ahead of the repairs 😊 , looking forward to more shouse upgrades
Mike the floor that you put down in Mama V’s house looked really nice and I can’t wait to see her kitchen cabinets built in her kitchen I know it’s gonna look really nice
No kidding, Mike, using that saws all made me really nervous. You aren’t supposed to seal the bottom of a window because if water gets behind it there will be a place for it to drain out. Every builder does that.
Good job guy’s but I was wondering the same thing. I’ve watched many windows being put in and everyone of them always tapes the frame before adding the window. That way the bottom is sealed but not over the window at the bottom itself so if any water gets in there it can drain out. I’ve never seen anyone cover the outside of a window like that.
@@jacquelinewells7575 I have seen the inside of the window frame sealed with a butyl tape (black) for waterproofing and then the outside is sealed with the foil like tape or the butyl tape- think about the edges of the window’s frame, it trim was put right over it, all kinds of water could leak behind.
Ooh! Gumby, putting your hand near Mike with that saws all, now that’s being game! lol. Just thought of how the saw jumped when Mike first started. It’s good to see the good going round amongst framily, just love that stuff. Good work guys.
Hi Mike, Lyssa, Gary and Mary great job that is awesome. The boys will love it. That's so wonderful that you all help each other out like you do. Love it. Y'all can learn from each other. Have a great day and God Bless DD5 ❤
Mike here's a tip. Listen to your sawzall. When you hear it scream you are putting too much pressure on your blade. You could bow the blade and end up with a crooked cut.
Mike will learn so much from Gary. The window looks great. I love that you lol work together to make it happen too bad the rest of the world hasn’t figured that out. I’m so jealous of you all. Love you✌️🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are so right Lissa , That's what God's word says. (We do reap what we sow Galatians 6:7-9 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. ) Always love watch'in thanks for share'in God bless
I worked in the window and door industry for many years mainly in manufacturing but I also helped out the installers when they needed help. It’s hard work especially if you’re doing new construction and the framing is just a little bit off, hard work in the Arizona sun.
Hey Mike how you guys doing I hope you guys have a wonderful day I can be how you doing hi Gumby how you doing God bless you guy hi Alyssa how you doing
Your not supposed to tape the bottom of outside o the window just in water gets traps you should have taped the bottom seal before putting in the window just saying ask Gary
Question mike I seen you ask Gumby if there was anything else needed to do to the windows he said no but my question is did you use flashing under the windows to keep the wood from getting wet ? I didn’t see any of that
I'm glad Junktojems has come to help out. Thank you! Learning how to build out for windows is a great skill to have. You still have the rest of your home to build so it will come in handy.

How absolutely great that Gary is willing to show you how to do a valuable trade for when you need to do this again
Garys a good teacher
Nice window guys
Great job
I like how Gary explains the why behind his instructions, most important and helpful.
I just love how Gary always shows you why you do it this way… great teacher. 😊
Gumby is a jack of all trades. Terrific teacher to Mike! Window looks great!
You put tape on the top and sides of the window and not on the bottom, so if somehow water gets in it can drain out the bottom.
GREAT JOB TNANK YOU GUMBY FOR YOUR HELP GOD BLESS LOVE YOU ANNAMAY

The header for the window needs another 2x6 and half inch plywood in the middle of them
That's exactly what I did
Lol

The music detracted from the video. Very hard to hear what Gary and Mike were saying.
Sorry.
You were the only 1 who said that

Nice job, did you seal around the windows ?

Insulate and drywall. Almost
Your not supposed to tape the bottom of outside o the window just in water gets traps you should have taped the bottom seal before putting in the window just saying ask Gary
See if that vinyl window tilts in so you can clean it from the inside, I was in the vinyl window business for many years
I call them 'Flippy Dippy Windows' lol. I love mine, and will never own another home without them lol.

Never seen tape on the outside only under the window on the opening. That's different. Not saying it's wrong , just never seen it done this way.
