Nexplanon has been pretty great for the 2 1/2 years that I’ve had it and it hasn’t ever failed me. One of the biggest cons I’d say is that it makes my period so so irregular, and I get the 2 weeks period thing and it is soooooooooooooo annoying and hoping it subsided ( but hasn’t yet so)
I got mine a couple months ago and considered taking it out because I couldn't get wet during sex and I was super insecure about it but I need to stay on bc because I have a daughter. But it's starting to even out except for the period thing
Omg I’ve been researching to see if anybody else has that same problem as me. I can’t seem to get wet anymore but I wasn’t sure if it was because of the birth control. I got mine only a month ago but those this really get better?
Hi, I have been on nexplanon from 2018 and like between last month and this week I had two periods about three weeks apart, is it normal and what should I do?
When my Nexplanon was moving into the third year of me having it, I started experiencing different symptoms and a change in my cycle. I’ve had two periods in a month on Nexplanon before, but it’s different for everyone on it. I would see how your next few months turn out, and if you’re consistently having more than one period a month, talk to your gynecologist and see if they think it’s normal or if they have any reccomendations
Not that I’ve been able to tell! I had very minor acne problems before going on it, and they haven’t really changed since then. My best friend’s dermatologist is recommending she get it taken out to see if that helps her acne, but everyone is different! Talk to your doctor/dermatologist to see what is best for you
Athena Euber I didn’t see any difference really in my weight being on it. That being said, I’ve weighed the same thing since my freshman year of high school (about 8 years now) and tend to only fluctuate 5-10 pounds. It is definitely a possible side effect (most birth controls have weight gain as a side effect) but you can’t really tell until you have it put in whether you will have weight gain as a side effect or not
If you have a regular periods (like me) it’s completely normal. Your body is just going through stages of feeling pregnant, and that’s the most common side effect from what I read online. I had my period for only a month and then it was gone a few weeks later, and I had no period in 2 months

I don’t have insurance, so how do I get birth control?
Trang Le my insurance didn’t cover my Nexplanon, it only covered the pill form. I ended up paying out of pocket.
Check out any clinics like Planned Parenthood
I would go to Planned Parenthood, thats the only clinic near me that does it anyways so it works out.
Did you have any acne problems from it?

Yes
Does it make you gain weight?! I feel like every video says you gain weight and I’m worried about that?

Tiger Spirit when starting any new brith controls, that happens. I had a period for 64 days :(
Did you gain any weight?
I didn't, but that's definitely a possible side-effect of most birth controls
