I'd always wondered who played Raoul in Phantom and 14yrs after the movie's release, I find out it was him. Haven't been able to stop raving about this talented man. I'm his newest fan.

The cast of the movie "The phantom of the Opera" is brilliant. I just can't imagine other actor as Raul except Patrick. I think if Raul was real he would have Patrick's appearance.

i REALLY hope they have a movie sequel for 'Love Never Dies' with all the original actors/actresses from this movie, that would be AWESOME! The Best love story ever...Just my Opinion.
@EmilyGreene1984 I don't know if better is what I would say; considering the two's voices I would say they're both so different! Patrick has an amazing voice, and so does Gerry at that! Gerry has a rougher quality to his voice while Patrick's is softer. I think Patrck was perfect as Raoul, as was Gerry as the Phantom. If they did switch the roles, however, it would be quite interesting and good I think! You kinda have a point there....
i felt sad about the AWL's sequel because i first thought and imagined Patrick as who Raoul is in Love Never Dies it made me sad! because he is SOOOO charming in the movie... going back, imagining Gerard and Emmy ending up together, some how it's nice because they look together....

Gerard Butler brought raw emotion to the surface, both in his acting and singing, as the Phantom. Patrick Wilson was the perfect Rauol; perfect casting IMO.
in both phantom and love never dies he is a jerk.......dont think that i dont care but every hope and every care rests on you now=i love you but if you mess up we're all gonna die......why make her lie to you to save me=youre making the assumption she is gonna choose you...i would have chosen phantom...
I think LND is an abomination, but if you like it, I can see why it would change the original. When I see the movie, I'm influenced by the book and performances of the musical where Phantom is a murderer who terrorizes and abuses Christine to breaking point, and where Raoul is flawed, yes, but well-intentioned and devoted. It's tough when the 2004 movie had to cater to so many different versions. Christine's conflict about the plan is also partly out of loyalty to her angel of music and guilt over betraying his trust.
