Its psychedelic imagery and audio-visual tour de force captured the spirit of a generation and became an instant benchmark of avant-garde cinema. A fantasy of surfers living in three unspoiled lands and playing in natures oceans, Morning of the Earth tells the story of a group of friends exploring the measures of all things beautiful: searching for virgin waves in Bali, Hawaii and Australia, shaping their own surfboards, building their own homes and living off the land in harmony with nature. Thanks! I saw this at the Pix Theatre in Geelong when it came out, after a surf on the West Coast somewhere. Magic times and magnificent movie! I eventually surfed at Ulu Watu in the late 70s, with only THREE other guys out, one of them Jeff Hakman.
Just found a VHS copy in a street book exchange in Redfern! Couldn't believe my luck! Got home, put it on, some Philistime had recorded SBS news over the entire tape.
Glad it was remastered recently.
From a time when waves weren't a thing to be conquered, but become part of. Brighton Town Hall, Melbourne, Australia was where I saw this; from a time that I didn't appreciate just how good things were. But we never do......
True that....I'm appreciating it now instead.

The Golden Age of living! Not like this basket-case of life today. People are too damn obsessed with buying crap than chilling and relaxing, looking around and smelling the roses. I'm glad I got to live back there.

That wasn't California mate it was filmed in Australia, Bali and the North shore. Morning of the Earth is an Australian classic film and soundtrack.
For the very beginning of that sure looked like up north when I was a kid I guess everybody just had it pretty good in them days, less people everybody lived on the farm surf was right there most everybody got along

Too right, the world was a much better place back in the day, but Straya was definitely Gods own country, but they're doin it pretty tough up in Queensland and New South Wales at the moment, been pissin' down for two weeks. South east Q' land and northern NSW are pretty much completely submerged. It's gonna take possibly months to clean up and already billions of AUD in damages. If it ain't bushfires or droughts or heatwaves it's bloody flooding rains. But we all love it , wouldn't live anywhere else.😁. Hang Loose brother.🤙🤘✌👍
