Does adding the var/run/socker.docker line have any advantages? I want to know what features it adds to the container because you didn't explain what it actually does, and I also want to know what happens if I remove that line.
It provides access to the Docker socket in order to control and connect to containers. Without it you will lose the ability to manage containers via Homarr
I currently user Homer (not Homarr) and I find it confusing as to why the author of Homarr would choose such a name for this project that can easily be mistaken for another application that aims to achieve the same goal (and also has been around for quite some time)... 🤔🤔🤔
When I chose the name homarr i had no idea about other applications doing the same things, the purpose of the name is that Homard is lobster in France and it was Home + Arr* software
I just checked and homarr takes 6mb while not on the page, and ~80mb for every page you load, capping at 130mb for 4 instances (with Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Readarr, Docker, qBittorrent and Overseerr integrated) Most of it is the caching of the images in ram
Another great Ibracorp video! One question remains though: How to use the proxy socket in this docker compose? I have that issue with portainer as well, ever since the docker socket proxy config of traefik.
Docker proxy is not currently supported in Homarr, but the package I use to interact with containers can work with docker proxy so i could look into it if you want
Thanks for the vid! Is it possible to load this page on each new tab open ? it seems it's only possible to load a specific page on the startup of the browser. Any idea ?
Will deffenitly give that one a try. I really like Dashy and that one seemd quite potentious and superior to Dashy. I saw there also raspberry pi supported
I've been using Flame which is a fork of SUI mostly for my 'Dashboard', my only wish for it is that it had the calendar feature like Homarr to show what is coming down the line from Radarr and Sonarr without having to click into them and Auth. Otherwise it's practically perfect.
I really like what they're doing with Homarr but the lack of ability to put in custom fields containing bookmarks is a deal breaker for me. I'll be sticking with Flame for the foreseeable future
A year later and Homarr has got less user-friendly. The Docker integrations are there but the icons folder is empty, so you have to source your own icon for everything. The Add to Homarr option can't be used twice in a row without refreshing the page. I wouldn't call it progress.
Love the video, but I'm having issues setting it up on Unraid through the pre-made app in the appstore. The variable for the docker socket isn't allowing access to the docker.sock, I get this error: Docker integration failed Did you forget to mount the docker socket ? I set up the variable like this: /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock:ro
@@ajnart_ I've already tested that after I posted before. I tried removing :ro, and restarted the container. but it still reports the same error. The logs don't give anything of value either. Edit: Didn't realize it was you who commented

Need an option to move things.
Get rid of the red lobster icon for homarr 😭😭
Definitely prefer Organizr, but this is pretty cool!
Both are great apps!
Really nice alternative to Heimdall, might have to try this out! Thanks for the showcase !
I could be blind but the current version of Homarr doesnt have docker integration.

thanks for share , if it can show in one page like 'organizr' ,that will be usefull
What distro are you using?

Always glad to see new dockers to load :p. Thanks.
Did you see Fenrus ?
Great video. Would love to see you cover Dashy as well. Pretty similar video but they have widgets with stats from your server integrated.
I love dashy - it's very customizable, but I really hate the fact it's no. 1 RAM-consuming container for me... 400-500m for just a dashboard...

thabks!!! that could be amazing

Any idea ?
Homarr is bad
Excellent!
Thank you ✌️
I like it. And would like to know if the dev is working on enabling multiuser authentication. Not only the admin ?
I have now moved from Homer to this. Quite simply, excellent!
Heimdall is better looking though
How do you mount the docker socket when installing via unRAID?
yeah! also interested in that.
The unRAID community image is managed by someone other than me so I can't help you unfortunately
add the path /var/run/docker.sock for both host and container, set as read only
As Mike said, you map it to the exact same place you see in the video
@@IBRACORP Tried that. Didn't work. Is there any way you can integrate homerr the same way as other apps in Unraid with the docker-socket container?
can I change the port that it uses by default as 7575 is taken up already
Any way of setting it as the authentik home page ? :)
Fenrus worth a look ;)
We love Fenrus! And definitely is in the pipeline
I gotta add some more stuff to it first. FileFlows been keeping me too busy last few months hopefully a fenrus update soon
Will deffenitly give that one a try. I really like Dashy and that one seemd quite potentious and superior to Dashy. I saw there also raspberry pi supported
Really good option Fred
Homard means lobster in French btw.
Makes sense now thanks!
Hey hey
Organizr has been working fine for me
Great!
This is a very nice looking app. Will be using this going forward.
Glad you like it!
@@IBRACORP Thanks my man! Always putting in the works of the gods for us. Appreciate you.

What do you mean by that ? You can add an item without any integrations if that's what you're asking
Lol, what the hell does that mean...!?!???
See ya organizr 👎 hello homarr 👍
Also greets from Melb ✌️
Welcome aboard Cobba
Neat. We just need a Windows installer now.

The variable for the docker socket isn't allowing access to the docker.sock, I get this error:
Docker integration failed
Did you forget to mount the docker socket ?
I set up the variable like this:
/var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock:ro
I believe you need the write access to the socket, so you can remove containers. Removing the :ro at the end should fix the issue
@@ajnart_ I've already tested that after I posted before. I tried removing :ro, and restarted the container. but it still reports the same error.
The logs don't give anything of value either.

add a Path like this: imgur.com/ldiORUs set the read only in the access mode, not the path
Thank you Mike
