Undergraduate studies last four years when you study full-time. State schools are sometimes free, but more often they simply cost less for in-state residents. Private schools generally have much higher tuition.
I’ve heard Bryn Mawr for a long time, but this is the first time seeing the campus. It looks very classy! It must be a very different experience to study in a liberal art/elite college. I’m very curious because all my schooling is always in large schools.
There are many international students here, Susan. There's also different forms of financial aid, depending on a family's needs. I don't think I would have done well in a big university!
English is my first language. I speak Russian. I have very limited knowledge of other languages, but I studied them enough to know how they work in general, so I can understand the challenges certain students face when learning English.
Your pronunciation is clear and nice! This vedios are good pactising materials! I have my school mates reunion every October, but this year i can not go because of the pandemic. I hope the covid-19 virus will vanish soon. Stay healthy!
Hello Miss Jennifer, I like these videos, I think the videos have been at this time for me. I would like u can make more videos on the streets , markets, airports,,
That is a very beautiful college you went to. . Once again I hear the story of an English teacher who mastered in a completely different subject. If I could go back in time and extend my education beyond college, then I'd like to study for my English Masters Degree. I'd also consider getting a degree in a media related subject and would like to be at A-level standard in at least two other languages. I see you had some Internet access during your college days. I must have a good few years on you then as the Internet hadn't been invented when I was at college. One could say back then that Bill Gates would've still been in short trousers and dinosaurs would have still roamed the Earth...Okay, there was a hyperbole in that last sentence: Bill Gates never wore short trousers.
Colleges have a whole department for lawn maintenance. Groundskeepers are busy keeping everything safe, clean, and beautiful. Sometimes the department is called the Grounds.
Hi Jennifer, I didn't have the chance to watch your live stream online. This is a very beautiful place to study at. The trees, buildings ,and atmosphere are so courageous so, I think that you were lucky, studying at this place. There're some new words in this video, sounding strange like alamnay or alamni or something like that, do we have to know these words? For me, I studied for 5 years at university after finishing high school, my major was material-engineering science. The place where I work, after graduation, doesn't match what I studied totally and I don't like it at all. I hope I'll be able to change it but my choices are so limited and my age is working against me. I'm 35 now and don't know if I can make a new start in this life.
The concept of continuing education is common in the U.S. You can enroll in college/university courses at any age. Getting a degree in the second half of your life isn't all that surprising nowadays. Wishing you all the best!
What really love about you is your kindness, Jenny you look happy and sparkle. I see in the background your alma mater, what kind of architecture is it? What period? I enjoyed a bunch your video, thanks so much.
It's a mix. The older buildings have Gothic characteristics, like spires, columns, and flying buttresses. There are small statures, gargoyles, etc. A lot of intricate stone work. www.brynmawr.edu/facilities/buildings

Hi Jennifer!

Hi madam
alumnus, alumna ,alumni ,in Latin there are declinations Alma Mater means nurturing mother
A few variations:
alumnus = usually a man I think
alumna = a woman
alum = could be either I think
alumni = the plural of "alumnus"
alumnae = the plural of "alumna"
@@Englishwithjennifer I wrote too short, that's right but alumn doesn't exist
@@Englishwithjennifer In Italy in same school we study Latin five years
