- The most romantic way to visit Cornwall, the atmospheric Night Riviera from Paddington to Penzance as seen through the eyes and told in the words of the passengers.
An unforgettable experience. Here's to the return of the sleeper and may it's mysteries keep unfolding...

Will share...what a glorious day it is today in Cornwall. Sun out, warm and the sea is crystal blue and sparkling
I am a huge fan of this service. The FGW staff are truly amazing and the journey is beautiful.
A brilliant and vital service. Lovely beds in the cabins and gets you there early
We finished our trip to Dubrovnik by coming home on the Night Train and it was a highlight of our voyage
Nigel Reed croatia shit?
As the Dawlish train line re-opens we celebrate with this fab film set aboard the Night Riviera train from Paddington to Penzance, the most romantic way to travel to Cornwall. Who has travelled on the Night Riviera? #loveCornwall ruclips.net/video/Mk5J9aF3KdQ/видео.html
took this service about 5 years ago. We left Paddington around 1145pm stopped at Reading and then again at Bristol Parkway I think, were we spent god knows how long.
The accommodation was basic to say the least - a most unedifying experience. Rolled in to Penzance around 7.30am. breakfast was something from the old travellers fayre stockroom, all this for the princely sum of £150 return- never again
This looks marvellous, a bit ould-fashioned and luxurous. Would love to try that sometimes. I've taken the train to Cornwall, but not at night.
What a brilliant clip
It’s me, 5 years on and I’m back
Would love to do that one day, thanks for sharing.
I just finished watching murder on the orient and booked this straight away. Closest thing I could find in a few minutes!
Oh to move heaven and earth to repair the line. To everyone who has sent me the classic bite out of where I once or twice parked the car when I lived in no 6 Sea Lawn Terrace Dawlish and went to sleep listening to the trains passing every night.
Wo betide the one who put the glasses back in the kitchen kissing on the shelf to have them rattle for every train!
Poetic but I have just realised just how shaky the ground is there!!!
I love trains hence the Steamsearcher.
David.
Ivybridge, Plymouth and Reading. Houses currently owned via mortgage!!!.

I wouldn't say it is romantic but it is still quite enjoyable
So romantic :D
Going on this tomorrow night! (Travelling towards London)
Really must do this. Train anorak
When my wife and I used it a few years ago the service was atrocious, pulled into London and the train staff just left everyone, no tea, coffee or anything else.
I would never ever use this service again and what's portrayed in the above is a pure fairytale and I mean a fairytale.
Haha i live in Tintagel that's so strange seeing a sign for Tintagel castle D:
I really like the idea including its presentation. The cost seems rather prohibitive, however.
agreed
I'd love to go on the Night Riviera. Could anyone tell me what it is like to go on it?
Would love to but the cost for a family of 4 of travelling would equate to the cost of our normal week long holiday, including accommodation, especially as we would have to travel to London first, costing another £60 or £70. I can see for 1 person, living in London, it may be a fun weekend trip, though.
+Sam Ellis As mum used to say, if you can't anything nice about something, don't say anything at all.
+spitfireale60 It isn't a mean comment though.
spitfireale60 oh shut up.
Likliklik I am tempted to go on it!
I like the background music... which one is it ??
Beautiful Dreamer by Stephen Foster
Beautiful dreamer,
Wake unto me
Starlight and dewdrops
Are awaiting thee
Sounds of the rude world
Heard in the day
Led by the moonlight
Have all passed away
Beautiful dreamer,
Queen of my song
List' while I woo thee
With soft melody
Gone are the cares of
Life's busy throng
Beautiful dreamer
Awake unto me
Beautiful dreamer,
Awake unto me SWEET DREAMS from San Francisco!!!!!!
Sure that's Ella Henderson off xfactor at 0:59?
Just confirms my idea that the UK needs the Chinese or Elon Musk to build bullet trains to major hubs--- Penzance, London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, York, Bristol, Brighton, Glascow, Aberdeen, Cambridge, Manchester, Inverness, Cardiff, Oxford.... There is no reason you shouldn't be able to go from London to Edinburgh in an hour by bullet train. >
wish I'd known about before I lost my husband it's not the same with only me and my son xx
GO you two....
I agree make the most of today and go with your son ! Enjoy right now while you still can, make the memories to last a lifetime x
