@@Bitt3rSteel I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Greater Finland and wouldn't have minded a bit more talk about mechanics/details. Well done! Just one question: What do you think would have gone differently if Germany hadn't claimed the pocket of Soviet land in the south?
Did you know that U.S. threatened to declare war against Finland if Finland were to advance beyond certain railroad in the continuation War? That is why Finland's push against Soviets was stopped. Finland took more land than they previously had before Winter War and they planned using the extra land in the contract for peace so that they would get back the land they lost in the Winter War... That peace treaty was never done since Soviets never surrendered. Pushing back the fins and winning the Winter War...with great losses... So I wouldn't say the allied forces to declare war on you wasn't that surprising and was totally historically accurate (On the state the world had changed in game - if you know what I mean).
So, after pretty much following this guide, and using Barbarossa and the latest patch by 09/19/2022, I ended up at war with the Soviets and I found out some things: 1- If you build up your army like the guide specifies, the Soviets won't actually attack you because between their lines and yours there's a lot of ground that's basically a "no-mans-land" where supply is almost unexistent, both for you and for them, so beware if you counterattack. You can use this to your advantage in Northern Finland, but be aware of going too far and getting divisions encircled. 2- If you feel you have enough good divisions, you can actually make a push towards Petrozavodsk to cut the railway towards Murmansk and at the same time take the supply hub for you. 3- While all this is happening, you'll be better off improving relations with Germany, Italy and Japan (and for that matter, everyone who's willing to give you some stuff) in order to be able to hold the line and counterattack the Soviets when the Germans invade, especially to compensate every truck and train you lose because of Soviet bombing (use armored trains maybe?) 4. Just in case, recruit some garrisons for your ports (10w with artillery and engineers will do just fine), in case the Soviets decide to naval invade Helsinki or any other port. A couple of coastal forts will also be of help to disuade the Soviets from invading you that way. Frontline divisions I used 9-1 (9 infantry-1 artillery) with engineers, maintenance, and support artillery and anti-air. 4- I used three collaboration governments in the USSR (remember to us localized training agencies to avoid your spies getting caught all the time). For some reason, though, I still had to reduce their victory points to 20% in order to cap them. I still got the compliance benefits though, and I was able to flank the Romanians and the Germans for control of most of the territory east of Moscow and Stalingrad. 5- If you have some spare mills, build Transport Planes. It's literally impossible to advance your frontlines without them after taking Leningrad (you can take it pretty much at the start of the war) and without military access from the Germans (I actually don't know if your supply vehicles can use Supply Hubs taken by a "neutral" faction; so be aware of it when you push the Soviets past Velikiye Luki and before you get to Rzhev and Moscow. 6- Despite evertyhing I explained so far, achievement didn't fire for me, so I'm about to backstab the Germans while holding off the Japanese because they declared on the East Indies after I capped the USSR. I even managed to cap the Soviets with the most warscore, even surpassing the Germans and Romanians, but I couldn't capture Moscow even though I took part in the battle to capture the city, so maybe achievement didn't fire because of it. If anyone can help me with what to do next, I'd really appreciate it.
That last happens when you wall up real high, one dude player as Luxemburg and maked lvl 10 fortifications and the germans avoided him until he went out xD
Well that was MISERABLE. Without access to Amsterdam, moustache man stalled out in Belgium and never set foot in France. Without the Blitzkrieg ever succeeding, Barbarossa never happened. This meant I had to fight and beat the Soviets alone. In 1948, with 20+ million dead Russians, countless encirclements, millions of captured guns, tanks, and cannons, and many, many hours of my life I'm never getting back, it's over. It's Finnished. Thanks as always for the videos!
Great video, but I found out that on the current patch, you usually have to allow the Netherlands to remain free so Germany can get around the Maginot effectively.
Guys I think bittersteel made the achievement before the achievement was released... It doesnt trigger that way.(at least in my game) The guide is brilliant but the two and a half hour it took me to destroy the axis were completely wasted. There is a much faster way. Step 1: Follow the guide and crush the soviets Step 2: In the peacedeal take only Leningrad and press end. Step 3: Release Leningrad as free and immediately justify on them Step 4 : Crush them again Step 5 : Profit Save yourself time and the huge amount of cancer I got from this achievement. Thanks Paradox for making me lose my sanity
FYI: The wiki states that you just have to capitualte the USSR and take Moscow, while also having over 15% war participation. Got the achievement in 1942, thanks!
Nice guide! I used it to get the achievement. It gave it to me straight after the peace conference (I led the conference as I had the most war score and did not puppet the Soviet Union).
Bro great intro 10/10, i recommend you make more of those when making longer guides in order to get that refreshing comedy before all of the suffering and eye cancer whenever the AI makes peace deals.
This was the last achievement I needed to get. Thank you for the set up. However on my game Germany never broke through Belgium and was stalled for years so they never invaded the Soviets. I was able to take Leningrad early in the war which helped me induce a lot of casualties early, so when my counter attack started I had an easier time cleaning out Finland. But I did have to beat the Soviets on my own. And did
If you wait to do military youth (or the communist one) until after you flip ideologies, you get a very nice boost to party popularity which means higher stability. Well worth waiting for because of the bonuses linked to stability.
I think the UK did like with historical focuses Home Defense and did then a alternative focus i think its called Benelux Intervention or just Dutch Intervention There also focuses in the branch like Scandinavian Intervention etc. that give the UK once requirements are complete a war goal against those following nations once the UK complete the focus. The UK can only do these focus once the following nation(s) has/have over 30% brown party or over 30% red party support which the AI doesn't do normally so I think the AI did a bit of an alternate scenario.
@@artunozsoy well the thing is UK ai is so dumb that you can naval invade at the start of the war. I usually caputlate Uk faster than France with Schlaffen plan

So, after pretty much following this guide, and using Barbarossa and the latest patch by 09/19/2022, I ended up at war with the Soviets and I found out some things:
1- If you build up your army like the guide specifies, the Soviets won't actually attack you because between their lines and yours there's a lot of ground that's basically a "no-mans-land" where supply is almost unexistent, both for you and for them, so beware if you counterattack. You can use this to your advantage in Northern Finland, but be aware of going too far and getting divisions encircled.
2- If you feel you have enough good divisions, you can actually make a push towards Petrozavodsk to cut the railway towards Murmansk and at the same time take the supply hub for you.
3- While all this is happening, you'll be better off improving relations with Germany, Italy and Japan (and for that matter, everyone who's willing to give you some stuff) in order to be able to hold the line and counterattack the Soviets when the Germans invade, especially to compensate every truck and train you lose because of Soviet bombing (use armored trains maybe?)
If anyone can help me with what to do next, I'd really appreciate it.
everybody gangsta till the allies declare war on their allies
1-hour long video woot woooooooooot
In my game, the Soviet Union and Germany went weird. Germany couldn't get past Belgium and the Soviets straight up just refused to attack my defenses.
That last happens when you wall up real high, one dude player as Luxemburg and maked lvl 10 fortifications and the germans avoided him until he went out xD
:o 35:32 "Karjala takaisin!", you took that saying to the next level.
“toad anti air”
Well that was MISERABLE.
Without access to Amsterdam, moustache man stalled out in Belgium and never set foot in France. Without the Blitzkrieg ever succeeding, Barbarossa never happened. This meant I had to fight and beat the Soviets alone.
In 1948, with 20+ million dead Russians, countless encirclements, millions of captured guns, tanks, and cannons, and many, many hours of my life I'm never getting back, it's over.
It's Finnished.
Thanks as always for the videos!
That was very Perkele of you. I enjoyed this a lot. Thanks from Finland!
You can hear the soul get sucked out of steel's body with every ally that declared on him
Great video, but I found out that on the current patch, you usually have to allow the Netherlands to remain free so Germany can get around the Maginot effectively.
Thank you for your sacrifice in making this video
7:33 "Correct ideology" ah but of course lol.
Guys I think bittersteel made the achievement before the achievement was released... It doesnt trigger that way.(at least in my game) The guide is brilliant but the two and a half hour it took me to destroy the axis were completely wasted. There is a much faster way.
Step 1: Follow the guide and crush the soviets
Step 2: In the peacedeal take only Leningrad and press end.
Step 3: Release Leningrad as free and immediately justify on them
Step 4 : Crush them again
Step 5 : Profit
Save yourself time and the huge amount of cancer I got from this achievement. Thanks Paradox for making me lose my sanity
FYI: The wiki states that you just have to capitualte the USSR and take Moscow, while also having over 15% war participation. Got the achievement in 1942, thanks!
Would love to see an updated guide for no step back!
Really useful if you share your button inputs as with "Shift-Excercise so they stop when they're lvl3"
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the guide! Only had to use your defence strategy + indonesia strategy, but anyways thanks to this I got the achievement on first try.
HOW DARE YOU TAKE NETHERLANDS REAL ESTATE - OK good play greetings from Dutchman
Nice guide! I used it to get the achievement. It gave it to me straight after the peace conference (I led the conference as I had the most war score and did not puppet the Soviet Union).
Great work. I did it thanks to you. Lost maybe around 2-300k casualties, but Soviet over 5 millions from me alone XD
Russian Empire: W... Who are you?
Greater Finnland: i'm you, but better
Can’t wait to see the videos on the new dlc
Damned. Never thought taking Dutch East Indies 😂
And Carl Gustav Mannerheim & Kyösti Kallio didn't seem to think about that either (IRL) 😂
Thanks for making these great guides👍
Bro great intro 10/10, i recommend you make more of those when making longer guides in order to get that refreshing comedy before all of the suffering and eye cancer whenever the AI makes peace deals.
Perkele! What a beautiful idea.
Okay, Sir.... *Finnish Him!*
i love how he kept on calling Leningrad Stalingrad over and over again.
And did
This was entertaining. Good job
Can We Just Take A Moment to appreciate the Casualties this Guy Gives and The Amount of Casualties This Guy Takes
The infantry soldiers running when sped up! 🤣😂
The taxed tank division. Yay.

Mannerheim already made us proud RIP our great leader ❤
When you want to win, hire a finn.
All RUclipsrs re: Finland: "You cannot hold the whole front line against the Russia."
Me: lol, yes you can.
Lmao I’ve been waiting for this
:)
Im finnish
If you wait to do military youth (or the communist one) until after you flip ideologies, you get a very nice boost to party popularity which means higher stability. Well worth waiting for because of the bonuses linked to stability.
I am a little sad the Tordenskjold achievement didn't win, but honestly, I would have been genuinely surprised if it did.
I think the UK did like with historical focuses Home Defense and did then a alternative focus i think its called Benelux Intervention or just Dutch Intervention
There also focuses in the branch like Scandinavian Intervention etc. that give the UK once requirements are complete a war goal against those following nations once the UK complete the focus. The UK can only do these focus once the following nation(s) has/have over 30% brown party or over 30% red party support which the AI doesn't do normally so I think the AI did a bit of an alternate scenario.
I have waited this so long
Great video thank you!
This video got a cameo on TommyKay’s Twitch and RUclips VOD channel
That's pretty cool!
RUclipsr' challenge is a bigger threat to Netherland than German

What is name that music because i need it
"I am scared for the algorithm" so lets call them the brown party. These days brown is also very scary to say hehe
Battlecry next :):):) ? please THANK you:D and great job man you are the best :D
Thank you, I've been waiting this for long a time the achievement introduced. Also can you do the "Our Other Place in the Sun"?
Its not that hard unlike others. Just caputulate The Allies and get the UK's caribean islands.
@@bltsevdallarfanclub641 It's pretty hard me to do that, as you guess I'm a noob at HOI
@@artunozsoy well the thing is UK ai is so dumb that you can naval invade at the start of the war. I usually caputlate Uk faster than France with Schlaffen plan
@@bltsevdallarfanclub641 thank you
@@artunozsoy the secret is to not guarentee poland
My Germany literally couldn't get 1 tile into Belgium and Italy was being Italy, so I had to get on Soviet Union 1v1
there is an amazing GFX mod for 3D models of units for many countries ( including finland ) called M2 Total or M3 Total ( mod was relunched ) and its great if you ever get bored of the same plain boring vanilla models, it also adds plenty of new models for special forces and has variations depending of the weapons year tech, its great you should try it.

Lol
"The Brown Ideology" hahahah
i just love watching people from other countrys trying to speak our monster of a language
Russia: I fear no country, buthose that THINGS, they scare me.
Finland: -Farmers
What was the reason for not making the nordic union as Finland and using them? Or does that void the achievement being a totally different faction even if you start as Finland?
I wanted to avoid fighting the allies early game since I was on the clock with the USSR. So I chose to steam the DEI for manpower instead. After the Allies stabbed me in the back, I ate Norway and Denmark, but by that time I was so tired of it all, I couldn't bring myself to fighting Sweden as well...I just wanted it to end :p
Oh yes. "The Finnish Indies"
Finally Pog moment
When you flipped to the browns, you said "More stability gone" but you gained 1 stability lol
GLORY TO THE EMPIRE OF FINLAND?!?!?!
Bitt3rSteel: Cotrects himself after naming a river incorrectly
Leningrad (who was called Stalingrad and never corrected, twice): Am I a joke to you?
Love Finland from Italy 🇮🇹❤️🇫🇮
