Firstly , condolences for the loss of your uncle. Always enjoyed your videos , but as an all rounder , brilliant to see you Grayling fishing with Simon. They are stunning creatures , usually found in beautiful locations. Congratulations on all of your cracking specimens , but that 3.2 was just incredible !! Great film Mark . Loved it.
At 26:00 when you talk about a fish you never forget losing....ive never lost a big carp so far..touch wood but i never forget this 1 fish in my whole life i was on loch tay around 8 years old fishing for brownies with a swingfeeder and i cast in a slack bit of water and the rod took off out of my hands and bouncing across the rocks i was running and leaping and somehow i got a hold back on the rod, the fish wasnt stopping for nothing...it set off like a steamtrain into the depths and i ended up running out of line before the inevitable... SNAP! by then my dad was stood next to me and we looked at each other...i could of cried. i think it was a big ferrox or a salmon :'( over 20years ago i will never forget it!
Whatever you do don’t ever stop the carp life series, it always picks me up! Condolences to you and the family about your uncle, RUclips family is always here for you ❤️
25:45 Yeah I know that feeling, lost an enormous rudd at the net after years of struggling to find anything bigger than palm size down in the south west, I still remember watching it hang in the water for a moment after the hook pinged before righting itself and slipping silently back to the depths. Heartbreaking stuff but I'm glad you got your second chance, very well done
Im enjoying this series so much, the things mark says sometimes are just perfect, "you're such a victim" had me creasing though the best all time Mark Pitchers quote would be imo: "Im just here for a super cheeky quick overnighter, or as i call them; an overnighter"
Congratulations with your one year old Carplife. 🎊🎉🎈🎁🎉🎊🎁🎉👌👍💪 Keep on going, they are funny, educated, emotional great to watch. Well done Sir Pitchers!!! Also great filming 👌👍
Excellent video as usual Mark, expect nothing less. Happy birthday Carp life!🥳 Them grayling are something else would love a crack at them. Keep up the good work.
Sorry for your loss mate but congrats on a year of RUclips that is for the year we have seen so far it’s been brilliant thank you for sharing it with us most down to earth guy in the carp scene
Great video mark.Love the carp life and the challenge videos.Sorry for your loss.Shoutout from south-africa :D.Used a lot of your tips here and got some nice results. Thanks and keep it up
Nice 1 on your pb grayling and thank you for taking a few minutes for a chat with me yesterday at East Delph, Good man, hope to book a tuition with you soon. Tight lines mate.
Refreshing to see a ‘carp angler’ fish for and appreciate other species. That grayling was awesome Mark; good angling at a difficult time. Like you I like to mix it up a little but I suppose I too had a match fishing background which I think helps. Crazy really, but despite fishing for and catching big carp, pike, barbel etc. my favourite species is the humble dace. Yet to catch a 1lb specimen, been close at 15 1/2oz, but keep trying. Really enjoy your diary videos so keep up the good work. Regards 👍
The Grayling the lady of the stream beautiful fish always fished for them in the winter love catching them never had the luck to catch one over 3 but will always keep trying
Mark brother! I couldn’t find you at the show but when I did the missus was complaining about wearing heels, and there was a line to meet you. Wish I’d have just said hello 👊 sorry about your uncle buddy.
Great viewing Mark and those grayling were awesome 👏 Sorry to hear about your Uncle mate - a tough one to get your head around I am sure. Look forward to the next instalment! (And - how crap was Alex at the high pour challenge?!!)
Hiya mark top watch again,well done on you’re grayling fishing hope you had a kilt on in jock land😂 nice to see you doing something different. Sorry to hear about you’re uncle chin up dude 👍🏻 maybe he will send you down a new pb carp this year aswell as the pb grayling sent from above 🙏🏻 I got my pb 29lb 15oz common on my dads anniversary last year. Was made up with the fish but also had a tinge of sadness with it because my dad is no longer here fishing with me. Top kettle accuracy aswell and don’t be feeling swans nose bollocks 😂 Happy 1st birthday carp life hope there’s many more to come. All the best mate JC {
What make centrepin do you use and have you ever used it for carp fishing in the margins? I've got a pin and it's one of my fave ways to catch a carp. Would make a good challenge, catch a 20lb carp on the pin 👍👍💪💪
I have the JW Youngs BJ Lightweight. I’ve never used it for carp fishing, it seems like such a delicate lightweight bit of kit, I don’t want to subject it to any abuse! 😄
@@MarkPitchers fair enough! I've got the TFGear centrepin, maybe not such a piece of precision engineering but still a lovely bit of kit. It's a real buzz trying to contain the runs of even a small carp on it! Thanks for your reply... That's carpy 👍
Too right Dave. I'd go crazy if I just fished for Carp 4 days a week 12 months of the year; it's nice to have a break from the norm and recharge my batteries! Plus I do think fishing for other species makes you a better angler. There's so many different tactics and approaches that can be adapted and developed for other species. This year I really want to catch a big tench, eel, and Rudd too.
I'll allow the Rudd video ! : ) It's my 2nd favourite species. Big Rudd are very impressive creatures. But i'll give the Tench and Eel Life vids a miss.Oh and 10/10 for your high pour skills. If they ever make that an Olympic sport, you'll be the bookies favourite for Gold.

Try the river Brownie in Durham one of the best grayling rivers in Europe. The dutch grayling society have an annual trip there its that good.
Hi Mark. How do you rate the acolyte plus rod for your trotting? have you had many hookpulls whilst playing grayling? cheers
Sorry for your loss Mark
