'Nagaswarali'/ 28 Harikambhoji, Melakarta Janya in which the Sri Muthu Thandavar ( known as one among the Trinity of Tamil Music ... Muthuthandavar, Marimutha Pillai and Arunachala Kavirayar), had composed "Siva Chidambarame . No idea why this ragam has infrequent presence among songs that are sung in popular cutcheries despite with 10+ krities by various composers!!!Many get confused while identifying this symmetric ragam [ a pentatonic scale (audava-audava ragam) without R and N) as it sounds very similar to Bahudhari. The arohana of both are ragas are very similar. Just that Bahudhari has Nishadha on its structure, whereas Nagaswarali comes without 'Ni'. This song in Telugu with more sanskrit words praise Lord Vishnu along with his consort and his Vahana (Garuda).Let Vishnu ward off all difficulties.of those who sing or listen this song!!!!.Here, Vocalist Sandeep Narayan had encapsulated every phrase and nuance of the raga so beautifully. I would say, he should have enhanced the tempo little more while the ragam entails a high energized rendition.
Nice information. 🙏. Ah, but did you notice in the kalpana swaram added a few cheeky Rishabhams. (at around 8:35) 😏😀 ? I guess it is a little graha bedham into Hamsadhvani and swiftly back out.
