Yes, Dreadnought's are the warships, specifically early 20th century Battleships. The HMS Dreadnought was the first of the kind, and all of this type of ship became known as Dreadnoughts. They played a large part in the WWI Battle of Jutland in 1916, between the Germans and the British Royal Navy. This is from the newest album, The War to End All Wars. All songs are WWI related. Same album as Christmas Truce.
This is my favourite song from the latest album, for me it's one of the best Sabaton songs (it's in my top 10). The guitarist's name you couldn't remember is Tommy Johansson (also did the solo for this song) and he's also lead singer and songwriter for Majestica. Edit: Sabaton has 2 lead guitarists, 2nd is Chris Rörland and he is equally as talented, you should check out songs Valley of Death and Hellfighters to hear his guitarwork, he's amazing. He's also fantastic graphic designer
HMS dreadnought was truly revolutionary for its time where back then people couldn’t go wherever they wanted, it took time and resources and the old iron cladd warships were just too slow and impractical for a global spanning empire, and so when HMS dreadnought was first launched she blew away the competition literally over night, carrying five twin twelve inch cannons with a further firing capacity of eight guns in total in nearly in any direction vs the atypical single or double turreted iron cladds, 27 deck guns for close range engagements and five torpedo launchers, with a top speed of 21 knots( 24 MPH) which whilst yes is relatively slow, but was ludicrous speeds for not only a ship of her size and armaments, but far superior mobility and whilst yes there were ships similar to her called pre dreadnoughts, however none could match HMS dreadnought in terms of speed, firepower and armor, where most of the older ships fired six inch shells for example, USS texas had one 12inch turret and 4 6inch turrets a max armor thickness of about 7-13 inches vs the dreadnoughts 8-12 Plus HMS dreadnought was outfitted with at the time state of the art navigation and gunnery systems allowing for increased accuracy at much longer rangers, much like that guy who has the longer arms😂, allowing HMS Dreadnought to engage far outside of other pre dreadnought era weapons and if hit would be heavily punished for it. HOWEVER the HMS dreadnought did have some massive problems Firstly it’s price tag costing the British taxpayers £1,785,683 in 1907 where at the time, where a pound was equivalent to a hundred pounds today, so one modern pound would be equivalent to a hundred bucks. Adding the fact that she was new and untested made it difficult to repair or maintain her, since again she was using state of the art technology (at the time) and so had a few mechanical and even structural problems due to poor quality materials or just shoddy craftsmanship. And considering that the British had 22 of these bloody things, and a further thirteen during 1914, in contrast. Imagine if the US were to build 35 US super carriers as well as other types of warships, and again due to being a new type of ship, the navy had no idea on what to do with her in terms of naval doctrines, and not only that but due to being prior 2001, health and safety was just a joke and so, during the battle of Jutland one dreadnought would be destroyed by a single shot and the reasons why was because, in order to win, you have to outshoot you’re opponent and so rather than use the elevators to bring ammunition and powder bags which individual would be the twice the size and weight of a sand bag, and so in order to speed up the shooting process, ammunition and powder bags would be carried from their magazines to the guns all the while powder bags full of a highly reactive substance was left lying in the hallway, and so when a shell hit the ship and caused an explosion, a massive chain reaction would start, where ignited powder bags would go off, inside the corridors of the ship, and because they wanted move the bags and ammunition as fast as possible to the guns, they left the bulkhead doors wide open, allowing for a nurturer chain reaction to occur, literally blowing the ship from the inside out.
As someone has said in the comments, the Dreadnoughts were the World War I battleship. But did you know there is still one on display in Houston? The USS Texas is open to the public so if you ever are down that way go and see her and you will see why "The Dreadnoughts dread nothing at all".
Well, currently she’s in dry dock in Galveston for at least the next year or so undergoing very heavy and very much needed restoration to her Hull. But yes, she’s not only a dreadnought. But the last dreadnought…in the world.
@@dadwhatsfordinner The dreadnoughts were so much better in every way than any previous ship, that battleships became classified as either pre- or post-dreadnought ships. Pretty much all battlesships after these ones followed similar design philosophies for most of the 20th century.
The ship in the artwork is the Texas in her WW2 configuration. The Texas was also used in WW2 where it was one of the ships firing on German positions on D-Day as artillery support. The Texas's captain even ordered the ship to almost ground itself to fire further inland.
Sabaton has so much music, and they do not shy away from the difficult subjects. finall solution is about the death camps during ww2. Inmate 4859 about a polish soldier that infiltrated Auschwitz to report back what the Nasi did here. To hell and back is about PTSD and drug addiction that retugning soldiers struggling with. then they can be singing avbout 220men holding thousands (resist and bite) how about a female taking her brothers place in the front (Lady of the dark) getting discovered and persuade the powers that be to let her continuing to fight, becoming a celebrated hero in a elite unit.... almost Mulan like twist. (edited song name)
The Dreadnought changed battleships. We now have two classes, Pre-Dreadnought and Post. That was how influential the design has been. Every Battleship built after 1906 has basically been the same layout for their guns. Big accurate main guns, hitting targets miles away rather than coming closer and peppering each other with multiple guns.
For terminology, "beat" or "rhythm" works for drums. A repeated melody or pattern with any instrument is usually called a "riff", and then of course you have a "solo" when one of the band members gets to let loose and show off for a minute
In regards to Sabaton's music and the way it flows. They are a Power Metal band. Power Metal (and Symphonic Metal) has a strong leaning toward epic storytelling both with the lyrics and the music.
Nice video man, I dont really understand your intro, its a bit weird imo, but who am I to judge, the reaction was great! Ive recommended this before, but I cant really recommend it enough: Please do "The Final Solution" at some point. Its an extremely powerful Song and Video that also gives some additional information in the video itself. Ive seen other people react to it already and everyones reaction was priceless and unique.
Haha. My intro is because this is normally a cooking channel. I make meals for my wife and kids. My daughter came up with my channel name. My kids ask me everyday “Dad what’s for dinner?” The “check out the white shoes” is a quote from Martin Lawrence tv show. I say it all the time to goof around with my kids. It doesn’t really make sense without context haha. I’ve thought about changing it but I just left it for now. I reacted to the final solution. I plan on uploading it soon.
The Drednought's were a British design Battleship and the first one that was made was HMS DREADNOUGHT that was the fastest, biggest and most powerful Battleship in the world at that time. The Royal Navy had the most amount of Dreadnought Battleship's in the world with Germany coming in second but with a lot less Dreadnought Battleship's than Britain. 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

my college happens to be next to one of the last surviving ships from that battle which is HMS Caroline a light cruiser

i would give it, hmm, top top 5 at the least
@@ryannelson3220 I agree, but the trouble is that I have at least 10 songs in my top 5 😂

Mostly correct, except the Texas mounts 10 x 14"/45 caliber guns.

I would definitely recommend the song Carolus Rex. Be careful when you go to react as there is a Swedish version as well as an English version.
This is my 2nd favorite song off this album, my first being Christmas Truce. So happy they did both in concert
I bet it was epic!

You can't go wrong with this band, I think you'd like their video for "Soldier of Heaven" off the same album
Coming soon! I recorded a reaction to it. Like and subscribe for more!

Thanks for the terminology. I find myself at a loss for the correct “lingo” when trying to describe the music. Thanks!
The ship you see in the video is USS Texas which is the last surviving Dreadnought in existance and is currently now in Drydock being repaired.
Really tasty solo from Tommy.

If you want to try something very powerful, try Sparta, it literally makes you go threw walls
The dreadnought like the tank is one of the best British war inventions as it changed battlefield technology even too this day
