Marianne is incredible i cant understand why it wasn't given a second season
Very unlikeable lead character was the main problem, and the scary woman in the first episodes goes away too fast. It had a lot of potential but I had mixed vibes with a first season - could have gone good places in a 2nd though, for sure.

@@chriscze6153 I didn’t mind the lead being unlikeable (but I also love ‘Young Adult’ and they basically took that character and placed her in a horror story), but could see why others wouldn’t care for her.
I loved the series though, and wish it had gotten more attention. The fact of the matter is the lead had nothing to do with it-it just didn’t have the views to justify moving forward with another season.
The story was finished was it not? No need for a second season except to extend for cash. If there is no compelling narrative reason to continue, I'm fine with the series ending. I thought it was superb as presented.
Shout out for THE OA!! It is top 5 favorite TV show for me EVER!
"Dark" is a true original, and I'm so glad you put it at #1. Like "Twin Peaks" and "Lost" before it, "Dark" is in a category all its own. With every episode, I felt transported to another place (and time). Another show that's unfortunately not on Netflix (but I believe is on Britbox) is a wonderful show called "Life On Mars." For time-travel fans, it's a must. There was an American version that came out in 2008, but the British 2006 version is the one to catch. Thanks for another great list, Emma!
I never knew Annihilation was a Netflix original! We showed it at our local theaters when it came out. What a great list Emma. So many on here that I haven't watched, and even some I'd never heard of!! Thanks!

I didn't know before i wake is Flanagin!! I know what I am watching tonight! I think Midnight Mass might be my favorite thing I have ever seen. Hits so close to home if you grew up Catholic and are no longer religious....
Every time I think about midnight mass I get chills. That show really struck me to my core in a way that no other show on Netflix has.
Same, it’s stuck with me for an entire year.
I'm so happy Dark made #1 - it's one of my favorite TV shows ever. It is probably my favorite TV show since Twin Peaks. Simply incredible stuff, especially the first two seasons.

I just watched Cargo after seeing it on your list and it was so good! I definitely cried during it. Loved the direction they decided to take with it and making it feel so different amongst an already over-saturated subgenre

Dark had me bawling my eyes out!!!!!! Omg it’s a masterpiece and I thought Archive 81, Black Mirror, and 3 Body Problem was great but Dark put all of those together and made a brilliant and perfect masterpiece!!! Whoever wrote it deserves to have every single award that’s ever been given!! It makes me wish I could go back into time to start it over

#26 - Chambers. A little fun fact about me, I actually worked on all ten episodes of this Netflix original. The best part, meeting Ti West. My job, I pushed around a little cart with monitors that received feed from the cameras so the director could see what the cameras see

Absolutely amazing list! Mike Flanagan is one of my favourite horror directors working today, and although I love his shows to death, Dark is an undoubtedly winner here. Completely agree with you.
I love how mike flanagan's work are on the top 😅 but yea i totally agree with dark. Its a masterpiece. Best horror: the haunting of hill house and best scifi: Dark

I wasn’t expecting you to put Dark as your number one because I feel like that show never got the love it so deserves (at least not in the US) but I could not agree more! It had probably the most satisfying end of any show I’ve seen and, not to mention, for my favorite character, Claudia. I get something new out of the show every time I rewatch it.

I've seen & love All Mike Flanagan films & miniseries you listed, & some others, & loved Archive 81. I love & saw The Ritual 2x, & Glad u liked Calibre, I did too. I watched Recaps on YOU seas 1 & 2 & Just began seas 3; I want to see Chambers, maybe Ju-On Origins, If I'm up to being very Disturbed, & in 2019 I saw Dark season 1 & liked it, but didn't continue; so w/your High Praise of Dark, I plan to eventually rewatch season 1, and continue thru seasons 2 & 3.😊
Thank you for a great list. I actually expected Gerald's game to be number one for you. I need to finish watching dark. I kind of lost interest when the effective time travel happened, because time travels so rarely works out entertainingly for me. But I've heard enough good things about it I need to give it another try. Excellent video.
Just finished Dark and holly crap !! I literally had to pull up a dark family tree diagram over and over but I found myself completely emersed in the story and all the ways everything ties into everything else and all of the different paradoxes it was overwhelming at times but in a good way I haven't tried to figure out a show like this or had an interest in a show like this in awhile so thanks so much for the recommendation Emma your awesome. Im trying to watch more metflix original horror movies so this list is really welcome. I feel like only the most divisive Netflix horror movies actually get discussed
If you haven't yet, you should check out Ghul (2018). It's an Indian dystopian/monster/prison horror movie based on Arabic mythology. I think you'd also enjoy Paranormal (2020) which is an Egyptian Netflix horror series that is absolutely beautiful and bonkers from start to finish.

I absolutely loved The perfection - but I´m not sure I would recommend it. 😁 It was so dark and disgusting and had so many twists and turns. I totally get why you change your opinion about it - it's such a weird ride. I love it, though. 😃
