I am an alumni from the 2014 Man vs Machine show... our off days were sunday, monday, and wednesday, but every week day we had 2 hours of rehearsal during school hours due to our wind ensemble class. tuesday, thursday, and depending if there was a home football game was all 5-9 and we did both the setting up and tearing down of the practice which really meant our rehearsals were about 4-10. on saturdays occasionally we had an 11 hour practice with lunch and dinner both being an hour or so. The biggest "weak point" for us was the injuries and the people having to leave, in which case we had a person from our sister program at the middle school tag in a person, tarpon really likes to think about the future of the program more than anything else. There are no try outs, there are no huge budgets, and there is definitely no outstanding money just handed to us. All we have are great leaders and band parents who would work upwards of 50 hours a week just top build props, organize uniforms and plan for our success. Hard work is the simplest way to describe tarpons success, Ive probably stood outside of 20 grocery stores playing for fundraising money lol, and that goes for all of us.
How in the hell they get high school kids to perform like that and commit that much time during and after school
