Boxing is the best sport in the planet.
So many champions have 1 or 2 defences before being vanquished and don't stay at the top. That's why Canelo is so incredible. He's been at the top for so long and barring 2 set backs ( arguarbly 3 with GGG) has proved his greatness without doubt. Guys like Paulie and Chris have to be respected for becoming world champions but they are guys that taste glory then get vanquished. Canelo just keeps producing, beating all shapes and styles and sizes. Incredible longevity really.

On a serious note and ignoring the nonsense on this channel....I haven't seen Berlanga demonstrate a level of IQ to outbox Canelo. However he has a possibility to get respect and put Canelo in a swing or get KOd situation but he has to catch Camelot clean and that's gonna be hard for him.....Canelo by KO in 5 or 6 rounds
GGG caught canelo clean, so did Bivol. If Berlanga trades with Canelo he will get hurt before Canelo does. He also does not have the Iq to outbox canelo. At least on the outside he can pick his moments because Canelo has lower output mid to long range and will try to walk him down. He loses this fight. Maybe he hears the last bell.

As a Puerto Rican from Guánica, PR, I want to say that Berlanga doesn't represent the island; he represents himself. This fight is not - I repeat, not - Puerto Rico vs. Mexico like the legendary Félix Trinidad did in the '90s, when he was beloved in Puerto Rico and worldwide. This is more about pride vs. an expert boxer. I agree with Teddy: Berlanga had time to grow but let his ego take control, and it's clearly showing. To be clear, I'm not saying Berlanga is a bad boxer - he's good, but there's room for improvement. For context, I trained at Gleason’s Gym in the '90s and have been in the ring, so I speak from experience. Best of luck to both men! I see a stoppage here in the early rounds.

Teddy,s answer is 😊perfect. Berlanga is an unknown. He’s never really been hit and had to respond to it. Canelo will push him to limits he’s never known before. Some get there and panic, and they resort to backing up and survival mode. Canelo will be looking for that and respond accordingly. This is why almost all of us who believe Canelo will win easily, are saying “ he’s not ready”. Let him fight Crawford first, that’s what he really needs. Crawford will destroy him and he’ll learn a lot from that.

How do you figure? Chris and Paulie at least are former champions while boxing gems is just an amateur boxing analyzer. I would agree Teddy rambles on too much but at least has helped train fighters like Tyson in his prime.

I'm speaking about their capacity, or care, to hone in on any given specifics/keys, and then articulate them. E.g. a shorter fighter needing to focus on double jabbing, so as to be able to more consistently close distance, or a slower fighter taking his feet with him while throwing combination to mitigate repeatedly falling just short of landing flush vs a quicker guy.
A few real life examples: Anthony Joshua should have never got caught up in extended exchanges with Andy Garcia- due to the major hand speed advantage Garcia had. If Joshua stayed out of those, he never would've lost to Garcia.
Or, during his comeback, had Foreman throw the uppercut 25 more times in lieu of a hook or overhand, he would've stopped Holyfield...
