    I think the best way to do it is either Faatpass+ or go Universal's route and it's very expensive, but included in the Disney Deluxe/Villas hotels.

      I agree with the universal one. I’d say better fast pass thank fast pass plus because the need to walk around kept it limited and minimised the number of people in that queue 🙂

      A lot of people have talked about Disney's pay to skip the line service as if that was never on the table until it was introduced. However, I think that was always the plan. At some point Disney was always bound to bring in a system like Genie+. After all, Universal was charging their guests to skip the line years before Disney, but of course with Universal, there's not really much planning involved, that's why people are willing to pay more for Universal's Express Passes. Unfortunately, I don't see how Disney can make their system work the same way as Universal's without the risk of congestion. The reason it works for Universal, is because Universal doesn't get half the crowds as what Disney does. That's why Disney's has to be a reservation/planning system, because if they did it as just a walk up system, then they would create congestion

    While no priority queue service is good, the Legoland one is decent. Ride operators can shut the "reserve and ride" queue for 20 minutes so we can get through the people that are already in that queue. We also have a better split than disney, where 30% of priority queue is let onto each ride (roughly)

    The new Disney system also doesn't work for guests in the UK until you are in the USA which really sucks and all the decent rides as times will have been snagged days before 😭

      @sarah_marsden aye so far all they said was Canada is fine. But they’ll need to sort international quickly because they get A LOT of international guests who arguably need the fast track more since they can’t easily return.

    Disney $#ot itself in the foot by removing complimentary fast pass. Now there is no incentive for me to stay on property. Fast pass early access and Restaurant reservations were the only reason I stayed on property. And now I don’t even miss it. The hotels look like the cheapest Midwest holiday inns with the untheming that’s happened. So now, I save thousand by staying in a far superior resort just outside the bubble. I still get complimentary parking, shuttles, better pools, better golf, actual Room service (which most Disney resorts not longer have) and so much more. By saving that big stack of cash I can justify spending $$& Genie+ and Disney is getting a fraction of the $$$$$ I spend, because of their subpar service, resorts, and greed. In a nutshell, I’m saving a ton and skipping the line.

    My understanding of Premier Access at Disneyland Paris is its 75 euro but they throttle it to 1000 people which seems about right; around 5% of guests to a maximum of 10% should be on this system.

    • @coaster_dad
      @coaster_dad  15 дней назад

      Yeah and the cap coupled with a higher price will likely keep the main queue moving as there will be less people in fast pass. I’ve been to Paris many times but never used premier pass. 🙂

    would a better option be scrap them all and just charge a few extra quid on ticket price - surely people would be far happier knowing they wont get to front of the queue and then 20+ people slide in from and take their seats. New strap line for parks maybe 'Welcome To Our Park - But Don't Bother If You're Not Rich' ?

    Disney makes the service "cheap" so people basically see it as a required add-on to their park day. They reinforce that by making the ratios of Lightning lane to standby guests on rides very high. Some rides they take 20 LL guests to one standby guest.
    Many of us have experienced cast members holding up the standby queue to wait for LL guests to walk up.
    In short, Disney purposefully and maliciously makes the standby experience worse to make Genie+ seem like a required purchase.
    Which in my opinion is absolutely disgusting.

    • @coaster_dad
      @coaster_dad  15 дней назад +1

      I totally agree. And as I said when I went I felt obliged to get it to make sure I got on everything. Hence I think it’s too cheap and should either be scrapped or upped to universal price levels. But as you said it’s intentional so they won’t change it. 😔

    • @travelingfadlings
      @travelingfadlings 15 дней назад +1

      They also have removed a lot of street shows and entertainment around the park and have put things like character meet-and-greets behind a LL paywall. Things that used to be included in your base ticket and were alternatives to riding rides. They have narrowed most options to shopping, food, and rides to maximize the additional money people spend on top of the base ticket. They are really juicing the park for every nickel and dime they can to finance other failing arms of the business and it’s sad to watch.

    • @RoastBeefSandwich

      @@travelingfadlings They are starting to do better about character interactions. I am noticing MANY more characters around the parks in recent months. Long overdue! They do need to add more seating to the parks and bring back things like Streetmosphere at Studios.

    They want us to buy stuff... what they should do is have vendors selling in the queues. Disney, are you listening? Some attractions have built in spaces where you can set up a vendor. For others, carve out space in the rope maze for a walking vendor. Cold drink while you're stuck in the line on a hot day? Churros? Hats themed for the ride? Duh. Am i the first person to suggest this?

    We were there 2 years ago. We used Genie+ one day in Hollywood Studios and agree it was rubbish there and never bothered again.
    Universal queue times were SO much shorter than Disney with the odd exception. Hagrid Motorbike and Gringots were crazy unless you went first thing and Hulk was always busy first thing as its the first coaster you come to. But we walked on to Velocicoaster in half and hour every time we rode it. As long as you used the app and checked for short queue times there it was great.
    Disney was queue hell. I say get rid of fast passes and everyone queues. Its all fair. Admit it if your in line and someone jumps in front with a fast pass you instantly hate them 😂

      Genie is the only way to do Hollywood (if you do it right). We rope-dropped Rise AND Micky Minnie, then LL Slinky Dog. Three biggest rides done within an hour of park open. We then stacked our LLs and watched shows (in the shade) while we waited. We rerode our favorites, and I even single-ridered MF 5 times in an hour while my friend did Tower. I know that if everyone uses the LL or Fastpass system, it won't be as nice, but to say that it wasn't even worth it is misleading.
      Not everyone wants to min-max their vacation, which is great for those of us that do. If the cost is too much, pack your meals (especially snacks), reuse merch from past vacations, and buy Genie/LL with the money you save. Even if it's more expensive, it is worth it if you are there to do the most.
      And even with Genie at all 4 parks, we struggled to do everything we wanted to do at Animal, barely had time to eat, and pushed our bodies to the limit getting from one end of the park to the other to not miss our LL. I still have an injury from walking so much A MONTH AGO. In short, Disney is not fair, but it never will be. Figure out what kind of vacation you want do the research. Maybe Disney just isn't for you, and that's okay too!

    • @coaster_dad
      @coaster_dad  15 дней назад

      @athenagreen5390 yup that’s a good plan if you’re on site and have early access. If you don’t then it’s a nightmare 😔

      @@coaster_dad There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. As someone that hates the billionaires that run Disney, I still forked out the cash to skip the lines, and I'm not ashamed to say it. The cost of Genie+ is very small compared to the time saved. It's tough for families, but kids can't handle the the overwhelming nature of running around doing all the rides anyways. Spend another few months to save, if that is something that you know you will want.

    I think it should be higher so less people buy it. Similar to Universal. I know people who go to Universal and happily pay over $100 for the fast pass, and then come to Disney and complain about paying the $25. I feel like there’s a double standard and people judge Disney too harsh.

    • @coaster_dad
      @coaster_dad  16 дней назад

      I can see that

    • @InsanityGamer1
      @InsanityGamer1 15 дней назад

      I don't think there is a double standard exactly because while the Universal guest pays over $100 for their pass they have access to every ride in the park without planning at least once per day (unlimited times if using the 2nd tier of pass) While Disney has you pay around $25 but you have to plan what times for what rides and you (especially with the new system) will not be able to get on every ride. So its a value vs Money scenario, with people paying an extra 25-30 for Skip the line at Disney getting 1-3 skipped lines while Universal is over 100$ for almost all the rides. Also with Universal you can stay at their Premier hotels and get the Unlimited Express included for your whole party for free. Personally I prefer the Universal system, it still gives them money and the guests a option to skip the line, but its so high price value that a decent amount of people will not buy it so it does not effect the standby wait as much as Disney's skip the line does.

  • @elichouinard3850

    Its not too cheap. Youre paying to sit in a line. Everyone paid to go to the park, so everyone should be waiting in the same line. The fast pass system is broken.
