I was thinking the SAME thing, mostly because I'd like to see what the real difference is in some ancient McGregor stuff and today's $700 whizbang new stuff.
Ah, the nostalgic sound of the that MacGregor Nicklaus Air Draw! Music to my ears 🤣 I would, and I'm pretty sure others would, love to see the numbers from the GC4! Great fun guys, thank you!
Just wanted to thank you Pete, your love of golf and the enjoyment you get from it. It's made me pick up my clubs for the 1st time in 20 years and I'm loving it. Thank you mate. Love your work and your channel.
Played course Ben Hogan practiced on before The Open at St Andrews , can't remember name . Also was granted temporary honorary membership of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club during week of our visit . This allowed us entry to clubhouse for drinks in evening and to socialize with other members . Tip Anderson was my caddie for that week and his legendary status attracted hundreds of spectators at every course we played .
Pete using a set of clubs worth less than a box of pro v 1’s and still plays well, just goes to show that lessons are better for your game than any shiny new club, 👍.
Unless the shiny new clubs are such a large step up from your 25 yr old clubs they inspire you to take some lessons and start playing again! Played about 45 rounds last year after a 3 year lay off, became determined to learn the rotational golf swing this time around to eliminate lower back pain. Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks?
Been playing my whole, life, father still holds records on 20+ courses in America, and I completely agree… However, ya can’t fault people for wanting shiny & new clubs. I, myself, like them too.
While I don’t necessarily disagree with you, I will just add that newer clubs tend to give you more confidence. With a better mindset, you tend to play better. I have also noticed that my newer driver goes 20 yards farther and is much more forgiving than my old one (TaylorMade R7 Quad vs M2). This advantage off the tee has helped give me the confidence to lower my scores.
@@rb0412: Yes, but so does fixing one's swing & ball striking bolster one's confidence, in-fact it boosts ones confidence MORE and in a REAL way-skill Vs. supernatural belief that a club can be magic. It's odd that you presented that as a valid argument while at the same time people all over these responses are CONSTANTLY saying, "[insert influencer's name here] is so good that they can shoot under par with cheap/ old/ damaged, etc... clubs". It's EVERYWHERE in influencers videos... ESPECIALLY when they shoot with clubs that are 10+ years old. Confidence in clubs performing is merely witchcraft, when the REALITY is that someone with a proper & consistent swing can play as good & hit as far with old clubs as they can new...
My first introduction to Kieran, enjoyed the banter. I played in similar conditions here in Oregon yesterday. Luckily I didn’t have cameras following me!
So much fun, in such a horrible situation. LMAO, great golfing adventure. I mean, Wind, Rain, and Freezing weather, you guys had a smile the whole time. Such troopers. Kudo's
Watched this video wrapped in a heated blanket, drinking a steaming cup of hot chocolate with my heating on full blast and still felt the cold coming through. Well done fellas... all in the name of great content. 👍🏼
Thanks Pete! Brilliant video and took me back.. my first ever set over 40 years ago was a set of the same pro masters in the same bag my dad got me from a fella in the pub, brought a tear to my eye and a lovely memory in my mind.
Kudos for going out in that weather, maybe skiing clothes might have been order of the day. Great to see Kieran out again. Good to see the charity shop challenge again, it shows you can play golf on the cheap.
Ahhh, takes me back to my junior days in Lancashire thinning bladed irons in the freezing cold dressed like the Michelin Man. That was a great video. Credit to you both for braving that weather for our entertainment! Great work team.
This is a brilliant video idea. Proper RUclips. I pop into my charity shops pretty much bi-weekly to pick up some bargain golf clubs and have a play with them. I either donate them back or chuck em on eBay for 99p bid 😅
Pete, that was the one of the funniest challenges I’ve ever seen. Please, please, please come up with more content like that in the future. Pure class mate!
Great to watch and hats off to you both for braving those conditions. Think you should do a review on that driver Pete, compared to some of the new ones just launched and even put it in your bag!
The lengths they will go for our viewing pleasure 😂 Best of luck with your arthritis in the morning from that weather . driver sounded like ice rolling around in a metal tumbler lol
Watched your old charity shop video last night, one of my favourite videos you have ever done. Could not have clicked on this faster when I seen it post
Cool scene there on the 11th hole, where you signed the guy's cap. Liked the behind the scenes stuff also. 3rd place isn't that bad considering the golfers that where in the competition, seems like putting was issue for several groups that night.
Guys !!! What a great idea for a video ! Loved it and also brave boys in that weather, I’ve always said true great players can knock round with anything .
That was a fun watch. Well done chaps for playing in those conditions. I felt cold watching it. Super play from you Pete as well. Karen was a good sport too!
Brilliant vid guys, the conditions made it even funnier, I would actually play in these conditions usually on my own when my playing partners cry off😂👍
You need to do a full review on your charity shop driver. It would be very interesting to find out what kind of numbers you get out of the Nicolas air draw driver. Great video keep up your great work.
Love this , was hesitating making the journey from London to borth to play my old home course at this time of year . This has convinced me there's no better place to be .
I was cold just watching that video. Horrendous conditions but still better than not playing!. Nice concept and just goes to show we could all probably play well with any clubs given a bit of time. Another great video Peter, keep 'em coming.
I find it very hard to believe that Kieran is playing off 4 after that display of "ball striking". 😄 🤣. Kieran, you should subscribe to the Swing Quest channel or even get some lessons from Peter Finch. You may or may not have heard of him.
Charity shop? I wonder are those the same as Thrift Stores or Salvation Army stores here in the states? This series / video is even more entertaining than the old Golfbidder Vids. Well done team Finch
Love the charity shop challenge, Try 18 diferent towns, charity shop challenge for 18 coarses in those towns taking on different players from those towns.
I think you have, in fact, done a course vlog very like this once. With Rick, Carly, and Hannah. Beards, Blondes, and Barbra, I think you called it. It was so windy you named a hurricane. It was awesome. LOL
"It must be 30 mph but with the windchill it feels like -2...". Glad to see that both Brits and Canadians use both metric and imperial in the same sentence 😁
You boys deserve 100k subscribers for going out in that & filming plus putting it out that was awful conditions would like to see a rematch in slightly better conditions. Will look forward to more of the boys taking Pete on more regular basis was good fun 🏌♂️⛳🤣🥶🌧❄
Pete if you and the lads need a different type of challenge, you should go big and come and play in Australia, where it's warm and typically sunny pretty much all year 😄 😎 Enjoyed the video and look forward to the next challenge. cheers
I've used a putter just like that one for a while. They're called Spalding Cash In putters and came out in the 30s. As a player that goes mostly off feel, I seem to do better with those than more modern blades or mallet putters.
Pete’s first chance to collect data on how far the clubs go and “there’s literally no point in me zapping it because I don’t know how far my clubs go” and after mentioning his opponents weakness “you just don’t plan ahead”. Brilliant.
I had a Nicklaus air drawer when I was a mid 20s handicapper.... It made me laugh when you joked about the head coming off, as my 1 lasting memory of that club was a tee shot where the head actually went further than my ball.... Good times.
I found a nice Odyssey Dual Force 550 with the Super Stroke grip and a Nike OZ T100 putter last time I went to Goodwill. I've found some amazing clubs there. I have a 1978 Cobra Baffler 5 wood and a TaylorMade metal 7 wood in my bag, both from Goodwill and all cost $2.49 each
I wouldn't knock THOSE clubs, Pete. 😁 Considering the conditions, your game was quite reasonable, same with Kieran. Please do more of these as I am a big fan of classic clubs. I have 9 sets myself.
I wanna see a full straight faced review of that driver. I want trackman stats!
Yes PLEASE....
I was thinking the SAME thing, mostly because I'd like to see what the real difference is in some ancient McGregor stuff and today's $700 whizbang new stuff.
Current in the bag driver vs. the thrift shop driver. Must see tv.
Me too!
Good to see Kieran has been to Rick for chipping lessons.
That's a double homicide right there.
Savagery
😂
Dude, you got a few likes. Well done. Didn’t need your life story.
@@thbemabu is the Tomcat on the prowl? Meow!
Ah, the nostalgic sound of the that MacGregor Nicklaus Air Draw! Music to my ears 🤣
I would, and I'm pretty sure others would, love to see the numbers from the GC4!
Great fun guys, thank you!
Regardless of the outcome, you both deserve kudos for braving those conditions. Just a joy to watch, thanks so much!
It was a tough round 😂
Love the fun that comes across in this video. Just two guys trying to make the best out of awful conditions is a top vibe.
Brilliant as always , can’t wait for the Nicklaus Driver review 😂
i'd like to see that too!
Yep get the review done as serious as the new releases
I have some Nicklaus irons in the garage. Great clubs for the money! Shape of that driver would be massively off-putting though!
This combo is bloody brilliant. I am 100% certain delerium has well and truly taken over, but it was a fantastic watch 😁
Just wanted to thank you Pete, your love of golf and the enjoyment you get from it. It's made me pick up my clubs for the 1st time in 20 years and I'm loving it. Thank you mate. Love your work and your channel.

Well Peter you'd never see Sheilds out there on a day like that, smiling and laughing to boot. Good clean fun.

this was so much fun to watch guys.. I definitely want to see more of these videos.
More to come!
I genuinely laughed multiple times during this video. Those conditions were brutal and you still found a way to have a laugh I love it.
In just miserable conditions, you guys laughed threw the entire match. That’s awesome

Props to you all for playing in that awful weather. You both kept such a great attitude about it.
@1:36...........I fitted that sign about 10 years ago. I remember being worried that balcony wall would fall over as I drilled the top half.
2 mates having a laugh in crap conditions on a great course... cheers lads.
Great to watch and hats off to you both for braving those conditions. Think you should do a review on that driver Pete, compared to some of the new ones just launched and even put it in your bag!
The Niklowse driver , is a beauty 😍
I think Kieran needs a recount on his handicap 🤭🤣🤣

Awesome! Thank you!
The starwars insert quite possible the best thing I’ve seen on this channel. Got a genuine belly laugh from me 😂.
Cool scene there on the 11th hole, where you signed the guy's cap. Liked the behind the scenes stuff also. 3rd place isn't that bad considering the golfers that where in the competition, seems like putting was issue for several groups that night.
This continues to be my favourite golf channel - wonderful stuff gents 👏🏼
This is the stuff we love to see from golf channels!!
Love you too are doing a British version of Stacked Golf ! Perfect timing!
Guys !!! What a great idea for a video ! Loved it and also brave boys in that weather, I’ve always said true great players can knock round with anything .
I jus can’t get over the sound off that driver 😂
I loved this video. Two buddies having a frozen fun fest. LOL🤣
Gotta do this the next time im overseas. Imagine all the cool old stuff that never made it to the states. Great video!
Wilmslow..... You've absolutely smashed it there 🤣🤣🤣🤣 lends a 10er laaaaa
That was a fun watch. Well done chaps for playing in those conditions. I felt cold watching it. Super play from you Pete as well. Karen was a good sport too!
Ya know what Pete, I do want to see more videos of you beating this chopper! LoL.
Really entertaining film. Goes to show that Peter Finch is actually pretty handy with the golf bats.

That looked cccccccoooooollldddd, MAD😂😂 nice one Pete
Who is signing Kierans golf cards??? 🤣🤣 All seriousness sod playing in that
Fantastic video - really enjoyed that, ‘it’s the archer, not the arrow’ - 100% agree
Absolutely
I was cold just watching that video. Horrendous conditions but still better than not playing!. Nice concept and just goes to show we could all probably play well with any clubs given a bit of time. Another great video Peter, keep 'em coming.
@peterfinchgolf1- Hi Peter, Thanks for replying as you are obviously a busy man. Can you explain what it means when you reply with 'Giveaway'?
Definitely need more of those videos!!! 😂⛳️
I find it very hard to believe that Kieran is playing off 4 after that display of "ball striking". 😄 🤣. Kieran, you should subscribe to the Swing Quest channel or even get some lessons from Peter Finch. You may or may not have heard of him.
I love these videos Peter. I remember one you did a few yrs ago one of my favourite ever RUclips videos
What a smooth swing on the young man lol. It’s great seeing your stomping grounds Pete
I want to live life with the same joy as Kieran on the golf course.
Just shows what a good golfer Peter is.
Not sure about that but thanks 😂
One of the best RUclips videos ever Pete
Charity shop? I wonder are those the same as Thrift Stores or Salvation Army stores here in the states? This series / video is even more entertaining than the old Golfbidder Vids. Well done team Finch

50km wind and -2 wind chill !!!!!
Yeah, in Alberta we call that Tuesday
That wedge better make it into the build my bag testing this season Pete!😉😂
A little stacked golf UK-style!
Would have liked to have seen Pete hit all clubs on the simulator before picking the bag!
Formby Ladies great course..👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome video like always..👏🏻👏🏻
Went uni here Pete! Bought my first set of clubs at Sue Ryder and half my wardrobe from the charity shops in the area!
Enjoyed this, certainly think Kieran is very watchable too
Nice fun video. Thanks.
Pork-day esque show from Mulsey. Still the 🐐
You boys deserve 100k subscribers for going out in that & filming plus putting it out that was awful conditions would like to see a rematch in slightly better conditions. Will look forward to more of the boys taking Pete on more regular basis was good fun 🏌♂️⛳🤣🥶🌧❄
Great match between the old and used clubs. Formby Ladies Golf Club is a gem.
Pete if you and the lads need a different type of challenge, you should go big and come and play in Australia, where it's warm and typically sunny pretty much all year 😄 😎 Enjoyed the video and look forward to the next challenge. cheers
Thanks guys! Very entertaining!
Perfect idea: Peter and Rick S. Get 1 bag of charity clubs between the 2 of them and play a round! i.e. they use the same charity clubs
You are crazy. I'm here in 35 degree heat and this made me cold. Hope you had a hot meal and a beer after that haha.
No way Kieran is a 4 handicap. 😂😂 finchy smashing it as always though
Kudos for even getting as many holes in as you did. I would have simply said “Nah, maybe tomorrow”. 🍻

Congrats for roughing it out in the cold conditions. Cudos!
Okay, the Star Wars reference got me
😂😂😂
This video was hilarious with the weather. Great video and play Peter!!
Totally agree about greenkeepers specially in this weather.
I love playing my old charity shop clubs they make you have to have a good swing.
12:20 You guys are absolutely mad!! I’m hate the term I’m about to use, but I’m totally here for it! It’s all for the content, right? Haha
Pete playing with the famous sausage on a stick putter !
Pete are you all mad playing in those conditions, fair play though laugh a minute, quality well done
I had a Nicklaus air drawer when I was a mid 20s handicapper.... It made me laugh when you joked about the head coming off, as my 1 lasting memory of that club was a tee shot where the head actually went further than my ball....

Gotta love a nice day out in the NWest. Two hat Pete, nice. :)
Got to make this a series
I wouldn't knock THOSE clubs, Pete. 😁 Considering the conditions, your game was quite reasonable, same with Kieran. Please do more of these as I am a big fan of classic clubs. I have 9 sets myself.
More love for the Jack Nicklaus driver.
The Jack... Nic-Klaus Driver according to Pete😂
Loved this video looked like you had so much fun! Even with those conditions 😂
That town looks awesome
I couldn’t believe you chose that putter over the other one but now I see why 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Such a great and funny video guys 😂
Enjoyed it a lot
