I was lucky enough to meet Bernie once and he is a lovely bloke. Could listen to him all night telling his funny stories. And he has so many stories to tell.
I can vividly remember seeing the early Bernie Marsden & Micky Moody incarnation of Whitesnake a few times at the old Hammersmith Odeon, including for the recording of 'Live in the heart of the city'. Great gigs & great live band too.
I listen to all these different interviews Bernie does. I've heard the same stories over again and it never bores me. A guitar legend and absolute gent.
Vividly remember recording the PAL ‘sight & sound in concert’ gig on a cheap cassette recorder with the microphone up against the TV speaker when it was first shown; treasured that cassette for many years. Such a shame it was a short-lived band
Greatly looking forward to reading Bernie's book. What a smashing bloke and a wonderful guitar player. Whitesnake were never the same band without him.
That 'first Strat in the UK' actually belonged to Cliff. There's a clip of him on here from not that long ago setting the record straight on that one...
I heard that Hank wanted what James Burton played. They assumed that he played a Strat, because it was the most expensive, rather than the Telecaster that he actually played.
scary coincidence - watching this and just as they talk about "here we go again' I read that Tawny Kitean (the girl in the video and ex-Mrs Coverdale) has died

It's a great book and as someone who was brought up in the Bucks area Bernie was, and is, a musical hero.
Had Bernie's solo song called Sad Clown on a favourite mix cassette - one of my favourites. Thanks Bernie!!
A cracking guest and a lovely man too. Buy that book and give him another hit.
Super show , book ordered. Spookily Tawny Kitaen, she who loved to drape herself across Jags in the “Here I Go Again” vid has just dropped dead at 59😱

Excellent. When he was in Whitesnake they were good. When he wasn’t they were shit.

For a second, I thought to myself “wow, Brian Setzer of The Stray Cats must be struggling to get an appointment at the barbers!”
You lot know Needsy?
