    We need ElectroBoom to rectify this.
    Why I think it's fake: at 3:25 he brings the lamp close and only after a second it comes on then goes off before he moves it away. I suggest he is powering it from another source and turning it on / off.

    That is so cool, YES it works, I'm a Ham operator, X Military. Now what you do is change it up a little, If you add an antennae to the top of the coil say 100ft out in the air then put a small xmas lamp on the primary where the battery was... The objective is to tune in to the 60 cycle energy that is everywhere visavee the power companies. you might need a little parallel capacitance on the coil to get to the 60 cycle range and start to receive the radiant power.

      Really does work. My dad knew of a farmer in the 1930's whose house was under high lines. The guy put up many loops of wire in the attic and got free electricity until the power company found out and moved the lines. Makes you wonder how much we are getting cooked when they are near our own houses.

    Let me just say that I agree with you 100% when you say that water is an untapped power source. If we could just find a way to fuse protium(just like the sun does, but much, much, much faster) efficiently, one gram of water would be plenty enough to provide five megawatt-hours. Fusion power isn't even dangerous like fission is, and it's kinetic outcome is far greater. If we could find a way to fuse hydrogen-1 and recover just 20% of the energy for further fusion, the ocean will provide all the power we will ever need.

    Because the battery has a high internal resistance, when the switch is turned on, the base-emitter junction is forward biased, the transistor's CE junction conducts charging the inductor. The inductor charges with a linear current till saturation at which point it presents a short circuit across the battery terminals thus effectively dropping the entire battery voltage across its own internal resistance. The battery voltage thus drops rapidly removing the base-emitter junction forward bias and switching the transistor off. Then the process is repeated until the battery dies. The inductor current thus becomes a repetitive ramp-up followed by a sharp cutoff back to zero. The periodic magnetic field produced by excitation of the primary inductor induces a current to flow in the secondary that is inversely proportional to the ratio of turns of the secondary divided by the primary. The voltage produced across the secondary is similarly multiplied by the same quantity.

    This is not a fake and in fact does work. I built mine and it initially did not work. To get it to work I found my primary was wired backwards. So for anyone that is having problems the first thing to try is to reverse the primary connections. No need to rewind it. Just swap connections. Also I know a couple of electrical engineers that have made real tesla coils and they did confirm the circuit. I got mine to work and you can too. Just make sure you have everything else exactly as outlined in the video. It works!!!!

    • @drrernat77

      It´s easier to call it fake or the Indian guy a dumb. When I was a kid, I built all kinds of circuits. I had a soldering iron and tools, no Gameboy or smartphone. If a circuit does not work from the start, read, think or just try. People who scream loudest here are probably not even able to change a light bulb. If a device is broken, they´d rather replace it instead of only trying to repair it.

    @statonra 6 лет назад +1

    I've built an actual working Tesla coil of my own design. What you have here is at best a radio transmitter with a high electric field strength. It is not a Tesla coil in the usual sense. A tesla coil has a slow oscillator where a charge is slowly built up in a capacitor, usually to hundreds or thousands of volts. Not NINE volts! Then this charge is discharged into the primary coil, usually with a spark gap, which forms an LC tank that oscillates at a specific frequency and high power. Usually, this frequency is tuned (by adjusting the capacitor) to the same frequency as the secondary coil (which effectively has a capacitor at every turn of the coil; between each winding. I see no LC tank in the primary circuit. I see no tuning of the capacitor. I see no sparks jumping off. To make the radio oscillator work better, I would use a turn or two of a separate coil, and decouple it from DC using a small capacitor. It does seem a little suspicious that your light bulbs turn on and off suddenly, instead of gradually getting brighter as you approach. And that we never see the potential wiring to the bulbs while they're lit.

  • @drogersnm

    S. Kumar, that's probably a lot of fun to play with! I'm 74, but just may build some of your projects to play with. With a 3-turns primary coil and a 256-turns secondary coil, using a 9-volt battery, looks like you would be getting close to 768 volts (nominal) out of your high-voltage transformer. Lights those fluorescent lights pretty well, anyway. COOL! If you get ambitious later and increase the turns ratio of your transformer (where the time-consuming part of building this is), you might get some cool sparks from that little 9-volt battery. Of course, you can also shock the crap out of yourself if you accidentally touch the transformer output wires. : >) Fun stuff! Keep up the good work, man.

      Sounds like you could answer a Q for me, por favor? The Dome/Sphere at the top, is it physically connected to the 256 turn coil, and if so, is it by only one end, (top most end), or by both, (top most and bottom) ends, or is it an induction sort of transfer? Also, is it required that the Sphere is of a thin foil element, in this case aluminum for ease of available foil I'm presuming, or could it be substituted with a solid steel ball, as in a pin ball? If it can be substituted with a solid sphere, does it make a difference if the element is ferrous or non-ferrous? Thanks much!!!

    • @drogersnm
      @drogersnm 6 лет назад +7

      Mason, I'm a retired mechanical engineer -- not electrical or electronic engineer -- so I hesitate to comment in detail on a project I have not personally built and where I am not an expert in the technology. However, the top of the secondary coil (coil 2) is connected to the metal dome on top -- this is the high voltage connection. The sphere on top can be solid or hollow, but best not to have sharp edges (round them) that tend to leak high voltage -- if there is a hole in the bottom . This is not so important at 768 volts, though. At 20,000 volts, it would be. Anyway, you can see the high voltage connection to the sphere in the video -- a small "U-shaped" loop of wire on the right side of the top of the 256-turn high voltage coil that connects to the sphere on top.
      One thing I question (remember, I have not built this project or looked up the transistor characteristics, so it's just a theoretical question), is the high voltage connection to the switching leg of the transistor (lower end of high voltage coil to center connection of transistor). Seems like 768 volts is a pretty high voltage to put on a transistor. Maybe it works with a "2N 2222A" transistor -- I haven't looked up the characteristics of that particular transistor. Anyway, be careful with the high voltage if you build the project.

      Fair enough, that actually answers and helps my understanding a lot. I'm a stone & tile mason by trade and so only recently have I acquired a thirst for knowledge in electricity and other sciences. It's incredibly fascinating and, honestly, a little irritating for me personally that I have essentially ignored so much knowledge over my years. Not anymore though, the T.V. is off for good, and the Mind is switched on, also for good, literally. haha.
      As far as my understanding of transistors goes, I believe the one he is using is made to switch on at the gate once a minimum of 5 volts+ is pushed to it, then it opens, and seeing as how he is only using 9 volts, and multiplying voltage in one direction from the 9 volt supply, rather than from a 120, or other, then I presume that transistor to be appropriate. I am just a greenhorn at this stuff though so that's an absolute presumption.
      Anyhow, thanks for the reply, it's very much appreciated!!

      When power is applied, there is a current developed in the primary, this induces a current in the secondary. Any current developed in the secondary is fed back into the transistor's base causing it to turn off, interrupting the current flow to the primary. (this cycle repeats )
      For what it's worth, this is why other builders have mentioned that they had to reverse the primary connections to make it work. If the phase is backwards, the transistor will not turn off.

    • @seditt5146

      This whole thing is a hoax. A tesla coil does not work on DC power and a 9v battery doesn't generate enough power to power that light bulb. Even if it was AC power people forget that even a step up transformer doesn't change the power inputs or outputs. It only changes the relative voltage/amperage. Voltage up, current down or voltage down, current up. Power stays the same.

    • @seditt5146
      @seditt5146 6 лет назад +3

      That's not true at all , Tesla coils do indeed work off of DC power and would not work on AC input. They Generate AC from DC. Also the power to light that bulb is plenty in a 9volt since it works off of ionization. Tesla coils produce high voltages but extremely low amps. All that said, Yes this is a huge Hoax.

    There's some comments saying that you need ac for the thing to work. You don't need ac in the generally accepted sense- 50 or 60 Hz, being a sinusoidal variation of voltage over time. All you need is to switch the dc on and off. The on/off switching of dc current in the small (primary) coil will induce high voltage in the secondary coil. That means the transistor must be switching on and off to produce the continuous on/off current in the primary. The 2N2222A is a switching transistor. Not sure if the circuit will work, but I'll give it a try. Maybe the transistor is not man enough for the job and you need a different one. Make sure that you mount the transistor with the flat side up. S Kumar- please correct me if I'm wrong.

    • @psun256
      @psun256 5 лет назад

      Resonance. At high voltages, even dc and ac become like static electricity, hence the term electrostatic. It ”conducts” into the air, also it works because te massive coil is like a capacitor. Imagine a wave tank as a capacitor, and a pipe as a wire. Waves are generated from the water flowing back and forth. It works without a wave tank, but adding a tank helps to increase the resonating effect magnifying the power (the aluminum foil ball /torus is the capacitor /wave tank.)

    I've been playing a lot today. My 550 winds of secondary works best with 11 winds of primary. I experimented with resistance between the collector and the primary to stop the transistor from overheating and it worked at the expense of the tesla coil having less power. I finally used three transistors (all N2222s) and that worked well. Five of them works better and will most likely be my final design. Make one super N2222 out of 5 of them (bases together, emitters together, and collectors together). I still want to experiment with different resistance on the base to get more power. I'll post a video when I'm done. I also made a way cool top load modeled after Electroboom's. ruclips.net/video/L5E4NiP4hpM/видео.html

    • @paulbogdan4216
      @paulbogdan4216 7 лет назад

      Parallel. base to base. emitter to emitter. collector to collector. Iv'e tried this with bigger transistors and more power but there is not enough control at the base so I've given up on making the slayer more powerful and am starting to play with mofsets and mofset drivers. I'm starting with Steve Ward's designs.

    seems fairly weak but sufficiently demonstrates Wireless Energy Transmission, a Technology that was invented by Tesla but was never really ever used because the government found Edison's way to be more monetarily beneficial, but in the long run when you look at all the Millions of miles power lines that need to be laid down in order to bring you electricity, in reality Nikola Tesla's System was much more cost effective in bringing electricity to a wider number of people but the issue was you couldn't track how much energy was being used by people from the system because it was Free-Flowing Wireless Electricity, so ultimately the more advanced and cost effective system was turned down for a system that could track your power consumption rate
    personally that really pisses me off because again Human Progress was halted for a Artificially Generated Billet that has no real value outside what we as conscious beings determine it has, it appalls me to think about how much more advanced our world would be if Electricity wasn't restricted to the Higher Class of people when it was first invented, and how much time was wasted on manufacturing and hanging the above ground power-lines, laying the underground power-lines, maintaining broken power-lines, all the energy transformers, all these things weren't needed in Nikola Tesla's Vision because his idea was Wireless, think about how much copper is wasted in the production of high Voltage power-lines and how much time it took to put those things in place...

    • @scoreunder

      the most interesting part about Nikola Tesla's idea was the fact that he was going to tap into the earths massive gravitational field to power his towers so literally our orbit would give us power... the idea was century's beyond his time and ultimately the real secrets died with him
