Some people have different way to 'translate' the smell 😅, some people their nose not same with everyone. Same goes to coriander, some people hate the smell and taste. But most of people love it❤
Musang king and black thorn are super sweet and bitter put together plus stronger aftertaste. They are for the pro and durian lovers. But for people who 1st timer or not the fan but want to try it, definitely go for white flesh durian like kampung one which usually has sweet creamy vanilla esque taste . I think there is also Capri , which has thicker white flesh durian. Then going up for D24 , IOI and Red prawn . The sweetness will gradually increase from that list and sometimes it has caramel esque aftertaste. Also bear in mind, brighter the yellow flesh , more sulfur in it and make your body hotter . So drink plenty of water after eating. Sometimes people get fever or sore throat
If you wanna try don't start with MK or any Pricey durian. try the basic durian its really sweet and creamy. im not a durian eater but i know that at least. i never eat MK just normal durian sometimes.

actually some people haven't had good durian. my hk friend said she didn't like durian and when she went to Thailand she loved it. had it everyday. I'm guessing because it was more fresh in Thailand it tasted better.
Kudos to Ari for having the courage to try again. And to Joshua for not giving up on 'forcing' her 🤭 But the problem with loving durian is you can't get them anytime you want. Once the season is over, nothing can cure your craving until it's back in season 😢

Oooh, Durian is one of those foods taht you either love or hate, there's no middle ground ! As a Taiwanese, it's one of my favorite (you should try it as ice cream, it's shockingly good), but I can understand why so many people can't get past its smell.
Malaysian here. When you like it it smells good, when you don't like it, it smells bad. It's as simple as that. When I used to like durian it smelled nice but then suddenly hated it and it smlled bad but after 10+ years I'm not hating the smell so eating it again starting with milder flavour ones.
That's the best part about durians, the different types taste different! Mustang King is probably one of the "mildest" flavour profile for me. There are others like D24, 101, using merah that have stronger flavour profiles (for me).

Durian is the god fruit. I luv Durian. Tasted so don good. It has so many health benefits. Here are a few examples. It possess anti-cancer properties. And it also slow down your aging. There are some people that ate this quite often, they were in their 60 but they look like there were in their 20ish. Now, that is unbelievable!
Japanese have very strong aversion to any food with slightly strong smells, so props to her for trying it again after hating the first. I also feel conflicted about people hating what I love, but durian price is high enough already 😂
just like a King everyone have different opinion, this is why Durian is the King of fruits, nobody can describe the taste that they felt everyone is different even the durian lover themselves will argue with another durian lover on how the durian taste because no one can describe the same taste.
I’m Malaysian. In my 40+ years of existence, I only ate this fruit one time. My Mom secretly bought a few and said I *had to* eat it before going overseas for my studies… I still shudder when I think of it 😅
I don’t know about the way other countries eat durian. But in Thailand, we usually eat it when it isn’t fully ripe which make it easier to eat since the smell won’t be that pungent. Maybe it’s better to try that!

durian types can range from really bitter to really sweet, you just gotta pick the right one. starters should try the sweet ones and progress to the bitter ones but most malaysians get used to the bitter taste right away. most people dislike durian cuz they just tag along their expert durian friends and head straight to the bitter ones.
It's not smelly. It's not widely available in those areas where people have never smelled it before. ALSO a wonderful way to boost up its price for these types of antics. 🎉
