That's the worst part of this, and they're the only people I've seen react in this way. Killing Vic was the moment we all see that Oz is pretty much irredeemable, and that he'll stop at nothing to be on top and will literally fuck over anyone to get there. That's the moment that Colin Farrell referenced before the show began imo, when he said that people would despise Oz by the end. Sofia going back to Arkham? That's simply a case of 2 villains clashing and one coming out on top. She wasn't a good person either, so being more emotional over that than Vic is mental to me. Plus the fact that she's just in Arkham and her story likely isn't over. Meanwhile Vic never even got a chance
Not everything needs an unexpected or subversive ending. Sometimes it's ok to do the "predictable" thing and just deliver it exceptionally well. Which is what this show did. And they're clearly not done with Sofia's story. Let em cook and enjoy the ride
Is Maple okay? I get that she didn't care for the ending, but I didn't expect such a vehement reaction. I felt like Arianna really enjoyed the show but didn't want to piss off Maple by disagreeing with her hot takes. Just my two cents.
Agreed. Maple comes off as heated by the ending but then it seems like she just kind of disagreed with how it ended. I also don't think that's the end for this viral, now beloved, character so who knows where her story will go.
@@chucks9205 i would not say bullied at all. Maple just spoke out her feelings but definitely felt some kind of way about it that might have made Ariana feel uncomfortable about disagreeing with her. That's not bullying.
They got too emotional invested for the woman cause they're women 😂. They stated last episode they wanted Sophia to win over Oz even tho they're both horrible people. But since Sofia is a women it's more tolerable for them
@@sensaiuriah5440 sounds about right… lol the show is literally called penguin. The crazy part is how unpredictable it was being the type of show it is, a story about the villain where they don’t turn him into a anti-hero/ good guy because it’s about him especially after all the Sony-verse spider-man villain movies. It’s a very non-conventional villain story for today’s standards but it was a tragedy so in terms of that maybe it was predictable.
No disrespect but the rant at the end feels like hot air cause the worst thing that could happen to Sofia did happen to her by the person she hates the most. Arkham was her hell so Oz sending her back there after she genuinely believed she had hurt him and was about to be free from him and the city as she wanted was the worst thing that could be done to her imo. It makes Oswald’s line of “you’re going to hell” so much more impactful and sick cause he knows he’s broken her again and she cannot do anything.
Usually adore these two and their reactions, but maple is a complete letdown through this. Arianna seemed to get it, until the rant went off the rails and seemed to fold.
You aren't supposed to FEEL for Oz Maple, he's a freaking EVIL bad guy. Not everything needs to be a redemptive "feel for the bad guy" story. You're actually upset that it DIDN'T do the predictable thing.
Colin Farrell literally said before the show started, that people were gonna despise the Penguin by the end - and that's pretty much how it finished up. It was a TV show where he was the main character but also a villain - we can appreciate the character and how they got where they are, but we're not supposed to *like* him as a person. The purpose of this show was to flesh out his character, establish him as a bigger threat and player for when Batman 2 comes around, and to really drive home what he's willing to do to win - so the show succeeded on all fronts there imo
I think it's worth noting that in classical "tragedies" the ending isn't usually SHOCKING, but instead is *INEVITABLE.* Many tragic endings are outcomes you can see coming, but the characters are powerless to save themselves from it. And it's that sense of being inescapable that makes the ending so tragic. The ending to this show feels like it's playing into that classic trope, rather than trying to surprise the audience.
It was predictable that his mom knew the whole time? It was predictable that oz would keep his mom alive in her vegetative state when she made him promise he wouldn’t? It was predictable that Sofia wouldn’t die? It was predictable that Vic would die? Obviously it became predictable within the episode when they build it up to make logical sense. I thought the finale was fantastic, im surprised y’all didn’t enjoy it. And even if you did predict the ending doesn’t mean it wasn’t well made and smart and interesting no? It sounds like the only problem you have is with Sofia ending up back at Arkham, which was honestly very poetic because now she isn’t innocent in the slightest as opposed to the first time she was at Arkham. I don’t know where else you wanted her to end up, it was either there or dead, and it’s still open ended because now Dr Rush is there again and she got a letter from cat-woman. I think it sounds like the only disappointment you have isn’t really from the story telling but just the fact that Sofia lost. Which is fair cause we all stand with Sofia the goat Saying sofias character was wasted makes no sense. She was the cause of everything. She is the reason that Penguin has nothing left, she’s the only one who truly got to the penguin. She made him lose the only thing he had left. Yea the penguin won, but did he really? Yea Sofia lost but did she really? She got her revenge on everyone she planned on getting revenge on
Honestly your thought-out and reasoned comment is more than their reactions to this episode deserve. You can pretty much boil it all down to them being pissy that their fav girlboss didn't walk off into the sunset as the victor. To call the writing of this show poor and to say Sofia's character was wasted is absolutely ludicrous. That performance and the writing of her is being widely praised by everyone else, and Millioti will be in contention for all the awards. But nah, she didn't slay quite as much in this episode as the girls here would like - so a 1/10 episode, would not recommend /s
@@user-wb3qe6pv1uexactly!!!! People just want the swerve for swerve sake. Not knowing that conventional story telling is what actually makes the swerve actually matter when it happens
So glad I came to the comments. Maple's visceral hate of this finale is beyond weird. I was in awe of the writers for this show from beginning to end. They didn't wuss out and make the Penguin into a misunderstood villain and they didn't subvert the narrative by making the female character into the main character. They let the Penguin win in the way you would expect a psychopath like the Penguin to win, because it is what makes the most narrative sense when the show is called The Penguin! And then that last shot shot with the bat signal was just just chef's kiss, because Batman is the hero of this story even though he wasn't in it. I say bravo to this show for having the cojones to tell the story as it should be told and not give into the girlboss mob. Halle-freaking-lujah!
a classic example of reactors only seeing what they want to see and ignoring everything else. Imagine watching Episode 4 and not recognizing that being sent to back to Arkham is a fate worse than death for Sofia. They say there should have been a "bigger punishment" for Sofia -- what punishment would have been BIGGER for Sofia's character???
Omg Maple learn how to broaden your horizons. The storyline is not over. Its been announced that the show is supposed to pick up where it left off in The Batman sequel.
It seems like maple isn’t a fan of good writing and storytelling when her favorite character doesn’t prevail in the end. Well get over it. This show was perfect.
What the heck did you want for the ending? A musical number! They put the hangman away for later, Set up Oz for his mayoral run and threw Catwoman in the mix! Nah, Hangman being loose, Powerless and alone sounds boring.
Just because Sofia didn’t have the ending that you personally what have liked, doesn’t mean it’s badly written. Quite the opposite actually. Sorry, you’re way off with this.
Continually listening to Maple talk just makes it sound like her girl-boss crush this entire season not winning is why she's upset. Saying whatever to the show being about The Penguin, and being upset that the Penguin wins at the end is hypocritical to saying this show is predictable. That's what 99% of all great shows are. It just depends on how they get there which is what makes it a great show which this show is. But instead if it being the good guy it builds up the bad guy FOR the good guy in the future. AND its not like they just ignored her character at the end, they foreshadowed her return to get revenge on Oz.
Lmao @the temper tantrum because the character they liked didnt get a happy ending. Also if you know anything about the comics nothing about this version of The Hangman is "predictable". Also they didnt "build up" Sofia's character. She was always just a tool to drive Oswalds story.
For some odd reason it seems Maple is iust mad that her favorite character lost 😂 or that she wanted some kind of better, more grandiose outcome for her. And that really is not what this show is about, thankfully.
I love Sofia and thought the writing was perfect! Having Sofia just leave Gotham would not make sense to me or killing her off and it sucks that she's back in Arkham again but they literally showed us that there is still hope for her with the letter from Selina. I thought they'd be excited with possibility of that badass duo but guess not lol too predictable apparently.
The perfect ending and you still aren't happy. Come on girls, putting her back in Arkham was the cruelest thing he could do. He is the bad guy after all. And Sofia deserved it. Remember what she did to her niece? And she still has hope with the Dr and Selina. Killing Vic was not planned by the Penguin in my view. But it was his final break from humanity, brought about by his mother rejecting him earlier in the episode. It was when Oz finally disappearred and the Penguin emerges fully formed. As i say, in my view the ending is perfect. The whole series shows us Oz's backstory. We now understand why he is the way he is and why he does the things he does. Why he thinks he isn't a bad guy at all, but the hero in his own fantasy world. All the redeeming traits in Oz's character were taken away from us on the last two episodes. We had been for a lot of the time, at least partially routing for an absolute monster. And we might feel aggrieved the writers so cleverly lead us up the garden path. In my view it should be a standing ovation for all involved.
Ari is a good friend, letting Maple waffle at the end 😂 they loved a character that’s expendable. In the end Oz used her as a pawn just like he used everyone else. It’s not The Sofia, it’s The Penguin
your not suposed to be happy that he won....he's a villian? Its made within the limitations of being a setup for the batman 2. Her going back to arkham is literally the worst thing for her.
The best part about this show? It's a show about villains.... And they actually let them all be villains. They didn't write a "morally conflicted" criminal that you eventually cheer for. Just bad people being bad people. And yeesh.... the discussion after this bordered on braindead. Came across as nothing more than salty that Sofia lost in a show that wasn't about her to begin with. Yes. You are the only one.
A show doesn't always need to be shocking and subverting expectations to be good. Execution matters. The show is supposed to be a setup for THE BATMAN 2. Sofia might team up with catwoman to takedown Oz.
Oddly similar to the Walter White fanboys they detested lol. Butt hurt because your favorite terrible person lost. What a joke. Love the performance and all but I didn’t watch this for Sofia.
I like how they highlighted how Oz never truly cared about his mom. He believes he does, would’ve passed a lie detector test…but he didn’t. He loved what she meant to him but not her. Keeping her alive against her wishes just to make himself feel better is diabolical
Sofia "losing" is predictable in the sense that all archetypal stories are predictable, but that doesn't make it bad. She lost because she underestimated Oswald. She threw off all the chains holding her back to her family by killing them, and then the chains tying her to the gangster life by relinquishing control of her empire and even burning down her house. She had a full character arc of leaving everything holding her back behind and being free, except for one fatal flaw, and that was holding onto her hatred for Oswald. If she had just allowed the Triads to kill Oswald when they caught him, then she would have never "lost". She could have just got on the plane and flew away, but she waited for Oswald to be brought to her so she could do something to him herself. The only thing holding her back was a desire for vengeance which blinded her, and made her underestimate Oswald one last time, which gave Oswald the opportunity to take advantage of her desire to kill him herself, and kill the Triad leader along with Sofia's protection. It's a classic story of someone being blinded by their hatred, and their hatred causing them to self-destruct. We saw the same thing with Gus Fring in breaking bad, where if he had just let his henchmen kill Hector, he would have lived, but his desire for vengeance blinded him and made him underestimate Hector, which gave Hector and Walt the opportunity to get him close enough to blow him up. In the same way, Sofia "loses" to Oswald and ending up in Arkham is her ultimate punishment for it. Full circle. Her story's theme is essentially: "If you allow yourself to be blinded by vengeance and hatred, you will end up in the very place you never wanted to be". Oswald killing Vic then leads to him finally becoming The Penguin, which you can say is predictable, but since they set it up and the fact that we all already know Penguin is a villain, and this is his origin story, him killing Vic was the thing that made sense. It had to happen for him to become The Penguin.
The thing everyone misses because she’s a girl Sofia is just as bad as penguin but oz just shows his evil more she distroyed herself killed so many more then him she’s not the hero but the oz is absolutely the villain
Not sure why you're upset that you weren't surprised by the ending. They hinted at all of the things at the end. They were hinting that Oz would kill Vic since they first met during the first episode. We all knew that was coming. Whether we liked him doing that is another thing. They also heavily hinted that oz was in love with his mother as well. Don't be mad that you saw it coming, because they wanted for you to see it coming. It just means that you're smart and read the hints.
This is the problem with your final take: you desire for something unpredictable and unexpected. This is a major flaw in the modern viewers and with modern tv and film. They abandon logical arcs in hopes to "wow" audiences and suppress their predicted expectations. For example, this is where GoT went really wrong and crushed fans...as well as so many other series. It's just as intelligent and more effective and more emotionally real when the book closes and you're like, "Yep. That makes total sense!" Hollywood needs to stop trying to show off their scholarly minds and just give character and story arcs their proper closure. This ending was the perfect ribbon on the gift that was this entire series.
Maple's reaction feels like a distillation of everything wrong with modern "mystery box" writing, and the idea that a TV show needs to shock and surprise you every step of the way. That's how you end up with once great shows landing in a garbage fire, like Game of Thrones. This show is a tragedy and it ends badly for everybody, title character included, because Oz achieving his dream leaves him alone. The only people left in his life are a comatose mother who hates him and a call girl who knows he's a monster, and will be looking for a way to get back at him. Sometimes a story wrapping up the way you expect it to is the whole point. Nobody reading "Where The Wild Things Are" is disappointed that Max returns home to a contended life, because a boy growing up is what the story is about. The Penguin is almost a reverse of WTWTA, because Oz is the boy who never grew up and gets lost on the island. I understand that Maple got very invested in Sophia, but the idea that she should have risen like a phoenix and left Gotham or whatever is silly on the face of it. Even Vic, seemingly a good kid at heart, made bad choices every step of the way and didn't get out while he had the chance. Everybody in this story gets what they deserve and what they deserve is a hell of their own making.
For those who didn't see their reply below, this is the ending that Maple & Arianna would have preferred: "@Diegesis 6 hours ago We had actually thought of the previous episode where she is originally arrested and think it would have been interesting for OZ to have recreated the same scenario because the environment was set - instead of leaving her on the side of the road. She could have seen the lights come on behind the car. He avoided eye contact with her the first time she was arrested and he was sheepish. They could of just laid it on thicker and she could have experienced this arrest with more awareness that OZ was truly doing it to her this time a further punishment for trusting him! Using the mirror and her in the back seat of the car. Kinda brining it back to where it started for her!"
And this is my reply to that original post: "This HAS to be written by Arianna. With all due respect, Arianna, you can't honestly expect us to believe that Maple's entire rant at the end would have been avoided if the director and writers had made these relatively minor stylistic changes. Maple said the finale made her feel like she "wasted her time watching the series" but these stylistic changes would not have changed the actual substance of Sofia's storyline in any meaningful way. I have to call "BS" on this explanation, respectfully"
Does Maple realize the show was about The Penguin and not Sofia? Of course, she wasn't going to get what she wanted. This wasn't her show to thrive in. And more than that, this arc is supposed to lead into the next Batman movie. Subverting an expected ending isn't necessary for creating a compelling narrative. Just like knowing that Batman will come out on top as the hero won't make people any less interested in watching the story unfold.
I think the problem is that you think Arkham is nothing to Sofia when it's the worst that could have happened to her, she would rather have died. I don't know why but you were like 100% invested in her character but not the others which is probably what the comments "guys...it's called the penguin" are about.
Whether it was intentional or not I don't know, but a touch I loved about Penguin was the way he repeats 'MAH, MAH, MAH', which with that accent sounds like a subtle nod to the old penguin squawking of Danny DeVito and Burgess Meredith in the older incarnations of the character
I think maples rant about it’s obvious is kind of the point a bit. So often at the end of a lot things in people’s lives they are made aware or have the chance to face what makes them do these unhealthy patterns of behavior and break the cycle. And they don’t, and face the consequences. ie sophia could have left Gotham for Italy but nobody said anything then because the need to hit back was too much
IT WAS A PERFECT ENDING. EVERYOONE KNOWS ON EPISODE 1 THAT HE'S GONNA KILL VIC. IF HE DIDN'T THEN HE WOULDN'T BE THE PENGUIN THAT EVERYONE KNOWS HIM TO BE. THERE AINT GONNA BE A SEASON 2 COZ THIS SERIES IS A SET UP FOR BATMAN 2.
Oz sends Sofia to hell, he keeps his mother in a living hell she explicitly asked him not to, and he kills Victor and tosses his ID(with *thick accent* his NAAAAMMMEEEE) into the river. Aside from offing Vic, the other two dying would've been more predictable. Maple mentioned in an earlier react that she liked how more stories are exploring female rage, and given her reaction to this outcome for Sofia, I think there are more personal reasons she was invested in that character getting a better ending. Gotta find a different place to channel your rage than through fictional characters who are likely to lose based on the mechanics of the story and the franchise it's a part of.
As usual. I still remember them ranting like lunatics in the first episode of Shogun about something which wasn't even happening in the story and as a result missing the entire setup to the story.
Maple basically hated it cause her girl boss didn't make it to freedom even tho she's a killer 😂. Ari should've never quieted down her own opinion just because maple can't get out her feelings and think logical
It really is confusing to hear a reactor say, "I could have just envisioned that in my brain and saved myself an hour...". I mean granted people watch people sleep on the internet so folks will watch anything... but I don't think it would be really entertaining to watch people imagine stories. Especially ones that are as incredibly well made, well written and DAMN the acting in this show was incredible. Arianna definitely appreciated the show and whatever pissed Maple off clearly overshadowed Arianna's appreciation. Way off base. I could have just envisioned this reaction in my brain and saved myself 40 ish minutes. ;)
Seems like Maple doesn't understand titles. It's called The Penguin, Not The Hangman. I love Sofia too, but everybody on the planet knows and understands she wasn't going to win in the end. Maple needs to take a chill pill. Good on Arianna for calmly talking about the finale and show. Even though she was dealing with Maple's ridiculousness.
Maple absolutely ruined this reaction. She didn't get the ending she wanted so she throws a tantrum. If The Penquin had been a woman and Sofia's character had been male, Maple would have LOVED the ending.
The finale is one hell of a gut punch. What Oz did was unforgettable and unforgivable. Its true what Oz said to Vic: "Sometimes, family can make you strong, but sometimes it can make you weak. I can't let that happen again, kid, not this time, not ever."
i don't understand maple's take, especially when watching Better Call Saul at the same time whilst knowing already exactly how it ends and liking it, its about the journey not the expectations. Hangman being sent back to arkham is a tragedy, tis a fate worse than death to her, its poetic, being sent back to arkham is the twist, killing her would have been cheap, sending her back to arkham, her worst nightmare, is the extra twist of the knife, the subversion of expectations i didn't see coming.
This show is called The Penguin not The Hangman/ The Falcone / The Gigante they were setting up him to be a irredeemable villain and in that they succeeded completely.
I've never seen a group of reactors seem to completely misinterpret almost every show they watch more than these two. At some point I'm going to consider whether this is trolling. At this rate it's a reasonable thought.
Once women get emotionally all logic goes out the window 😂. This was the most simple show to pay attention to. But that got side tracked cause they loved the girl boss
LMFAOOO they missed the whole point of the show by being so salty that they criticized everything at the end of it🤣🤣 the amount of salt in that reaction is enough to feed a family of 10 🤣🤣🤣
You are almost exactly like the Walter White lovers you claimed to disdain. Pissy because a D rate villain didn’t win in someone else’s show. Look I get it. The actress for Sofia is attractive. But like, audiences are here to see The Penguin be The Penguin. Sorry, not sorry.
I truly don't understand that it's a fate worse than death. That was the whole reason they showed you everything in Arkham, let it sink in how terrible that is! Please tell me how you would have written a better ending? You wanted Penguin to die, & Sophia to ride off into the sunset? to act like it wasn't smart because you had grasp of what was going to happen, is wild!
@@busfare5660She kinda did after she got out of arkham. She could have chosen to leave that life, but she stayed because she wanted revenge (which I'm not blaming her).

eeeeh, i don't get the rant at the end, maybe they wanted Sofia to win lmao. if the penguin spared Vick at the end, and Sofia escaped or won, and the penguin didn't get what he wanted it, would be extremely boring don't you think. what you failed to interpret Maple is that even if you know that oz will kill Vick and Sofia probably, while getting what he waned by the end, it's all about the execution, what people loved about the ending and raving about it, is precisely because of the execution and acting, it wasn't about how unpredictable it was. oh and a small the thing i noticed, Arianna seemed to LOVE the ending but instantly switched when Maple HATED it. but for each their own i personally think the ending was a masterpiece and one of the best episodes in television period.
i didnt find this predictable...at all.....we really didnt know if sofia or vic would leave the episode alive and if so, what state theyd be in... they couldve easily killed sofia and kept vic alive and no one wouldve thought any different. its just how they chose to end the series....id understand if maple is mad because the penguin won but shes mad about the storywriting which is wild to me....and not caring that vic died because u thought that was gonna happen seems a bit silly. its still heartbreaking, especially with how it happens.
I found this reaction channel because of the show Penguin. Was going to start watching their Breaking Bad reactions next but the young lady name Maple made me not want to now. Oh well.
Yeah you can skip that boss. They do nothing but hate on Walt which makes them miss some crucial moments but at the same time thirst over Gus which makes no sense as they're both equally evil characters
Oh no do NOT watch the breaking bad ones if you didn’t like this one. Most of the time they’re missing crucial details because they’re too busy ranting about Walt being too “ragebaity” (meanwhile they call Gus “daddy” when he does more evil things lol)

maples want a Sofia hilightreal of her wearing different dresses, she doesn't care about the show, you can see every time Sofia is on screen she will describe everything thing shes wearing but when Oz is on screen it's just this mommy boy, and how weird he is. Not saying Oz isn't wide we know that but there is more and that's what the damn show is trying to show you, why ay oz is weird, and what will make him even more bizarre. But Maple just wants a Sofia runway show. even after watching 8 ep, they can only rant about Sofia for 10 min straight come on girls do better even if oz wasn't yours fav give the fans something to talk about him and how he has changed from his look to his mindset, we all loved Sofia but it feels like you guys have lost the plot.
I think we need ask maple if she likes Oz. Her answer will most definitely be no. But that's the whole point of the show. People despise Oz for what he did which in turn makes a fucking fantastic villain. Instead of just a few scenes in a movie or tv show, we get an entire season of why we shouldn't root for this guy and be happy we have a good guy fighting him.
i love how everybody is hating penguin after he kills vic. like this whole show we have seen a fake penguin with some kind of morals. the penguin we go to see at the end kiliing vic is the real penguin. i have waited whole show for them to show the real penguin and not this fake kind moral one. him killing vic is perfect. exacly the way penguin are, he dont give a crap about anyone. penguin is on the most ruthless villians in movie history. perfect ending, season 2 or in the new batman movie. we will get the ruthless penguin and i cant wait
Its a weird complaint honestly. Its a show about the penguin but like the actor that plays vic said reading the scripts he is way worse than we thought. People kind of saw where oz was coming from and almost rooted for him until we kept unraveling his story. You brought up joker film that movie gave to much sympathy for that character this show did it right. And it is subverting our expectations cause up until now comic villains were way to sympathetic where im like oh hes just misunderstood. Here we see him be a true piece of human trash he is evil. Im glad shes alive tho shes great!

Soooooo... I liked it. Why do I feel like Maple is going to kick open my door and yell at me the moment I click "comment"? I'm scared. Well, here goes...

No, I’d say she was just trying to make something good out of a very myopic viewpoint from Maple.
"Predictable"??? were we watching the same show? Did they know the show isn't called "Sofia" or "hangman"??
They got too emotional invested for the woman cause they're women 😂. They stated last episode they wanted Sophia to win over Oz even tho they're both horrible people. But since Sofia is a women it's more tolerable for them
@@sensaiuriah5440 sounds about right…
lol the show is literally called penguin.
This is the greatest example of having a hot take just to have a hot take😭
Some people think that simply being different = being intelligent
No disrespect but the rant at the end feels like hot air cause the worst thing that could happen to Sofia did happen to her by the person she hates the most. Arkham was her hell so Oz sending her back there after she genuinely believed she had hurt him and was about to be free from him and the city as she wanted was the worst thing that could be done to her imo. It makes Oswald’s line of “you’re going to hell” so much more impactful and sick cause he knows he’s broken her again and she cannot do anything.
Yall just mad sofia lost
BINGO!
Usually adore these two and their reactions, but maple is a complete letdown through this. Arianna seemed to get it, until the rant went off the rails and seemed to fold.
I was kind of confused with her reaction honestly. I love Sofia but it's not her show also she could've ended up like Vic lol.
I love this comment, totally agree 🙃
This is the comment, you get it.
Which is fair cause we all stand with Sofia the goat
Saying sofias character was wasted makes no sense. She was the cause of everything. She is the reason that Penguin has nothing left, she’s the only one who truly got to the penguin. She made him lose the only thing he had left. Yea the penguin won, but did he really? Yea Sofia lost but did she really? She got her revenge on everyone she planned on getting revenge on
Plus, the stories not over yet. This is building to the next film
Agreed
wait they didnt like it? im about to watch. how!?!?!?
Honestly your thought-out and reasoned comment is more than their reactions to this episode deserve. You can pretty much boil it all down to them being pissy that their fav girlboss didn't walk off into the sunset as the victor. To call the writing of this show poor and to say Sofia's character was wasted is absolutely ludicrous. That performance and the writing of her is being widely praised by everyone else, and Millioti will be in contention for all the awards.
But nah, she didn't slay quite as much in this episode as the girls here would like - so a 1/10 episode, would not recommend /s

Halle-freaking-lujah!
the series is about the rise of the penguin, not the hangman. everyone knew he was gonna win, the series is about who he is.😆

They provided no better alternative idea to this ending, so I can't take their critiques seriously
The show is called The penguin for a reason…this might be your goofiest mental breakdown yet 😂😂😂
If you’re mad about Sofia, I mean she’s just in Arkham. She can get outta there easy.
Yeah with Selina sending her letters I doubt she'll be trapped there long
People escape every other day from that place
What the heck did you want for the ending? A musical number! They put the hangman away for later, Set up Oz for his mayoral run and threw Catwoman in the mix! Nah, Hangman being loose, Powerless and alone sounds boring.
Just because Sofia didn’t have the ending that you personally what have liked, doesn’t mean it’s badly written. Quite the opposite actually. Sorry, you’re way off with this.
Maple always has the bad takes. lol
Sofia might team up with catwoman to takedown Oz.
lol, they're mad because the show didn't end on a girl boss moment. 😂
Basically.
Mad me laugh so hard. So glad they didn’t get what they wanted
Kinda sad how transparent Maple's reaction is.
Found the misogynist
Damn, and Maple used to be my favorite. But she got too fangirly about Sofia that she took her tragic ending personally.
The thing everyone misses because she’s a girl Sofia is just as bad as penguin but oz just shows his evil more she distroyed herself killed so many more then him she’s not the hero but the oz is absolutely the villain
seems like a certain character didn't get a good ending yall lmao. Solid show but yikes they were salty.
Waaayyyyy offffffff...
That makes total sense!"
Hollywood needs to stop trying to show off their scholarly minds and just give character and story arcs their proper closure. This ending was the perfect ribbon on the gift that was this entire series.
And by "Hollywood" you mean what, exactly?
@@Philbert-s2c Hollywood
Everybody in this story gets what they deserve and what they deserve is a hell of their own making.
the thing is, the show did shock and surprise us, it just didn't do it in the way she wanted.
Lol what an awful take from maple
Penguin in a top hat and tails, Maple too busy humble bragging about being in a Rolls Royce
For those who didn't see their reply below, this is the ending that Maple & Arianna would have preferred:
"@Diegesis
We had actually thought of the previous episode where she is originally arrested and think it would have been interesting for OZ to have recreated the same scenario because the environment was set - instead of leaving her on the side of the road.
Maples rant was horrible. The ending was amazing
I think maples rant about it’s obvious is kind of the point a bit. So often at the end of a lot things in people’s lives they are made aware or have the chance to face what makes them do these unhealthy patterns of behavior and break the cycle. And they don’t, and face the consequences. ie sophia could have left Gotham for Italy but nobody said anything then because the need to hit back was too much
And there’s the reason why i stopped watching u guys 😂

Its true what Oz said to Vic:
"Sometimes, family can make you strong, but sometimes it can make you weak. I can't let that happen again, kid, not this time, not ever."
Ya, Oz learned all the wrong lessons. And Vic learned the truth. . .Just too late
i don't understand maple's take, especially when watching Better Call Saul at the same time whilst knowing already exactly how it ends and liking it, its about the journey not the expectations.

You brought up joker film that movie gave to much sympathy for that character this show did it right. And it is subverting our expectations cause up until now comic villains were way to sympathetic where im like oh hes just misunderstood. Here we see him be a true piece of human trash he is evil. And thats refreshing we shouldnt be looking up to someone like Oz. To many people looked up to joker weirdly. Sofia i actually thought was gonna be offed but no shes back to her hell. Im glad shes alive tho shes great!
L take from maple, just because you know where the story ends up doesn’t mean there’s no meaning in the story or depth or beauty, thats like refusing to look at a sunset cause you’ve already seen one, or refusing to go on a road trip bc you know the destination in advance lolol
Wow! No tears at all for Vic huh? You two are ice cold.
I wouldn't say all that. Not everyone needs to cry to be sad. I was sad about his death and I didn't cry.
@@SalikCollins That comment was figurative, not literal. They were not in any way sympathetic.
@@aperson4640 From what the comments say she was more upset about Sophia's fate than Vics fate.
@@aperson4640 Vic's death broke me ngl. One of the saddest deaths of a character ever. Kid was too real.
They were too pissed off at what Oz did to Sofia to care about poor Vic.
Thank god I read the comments before watching lol makes sense tho
Soooooo... I liked it. Why do I feel like Maple is going to kick open my door and yell at me the moment I click "comment"? I'm scared. Well, here goes...
That's silly considering that is ALWAYS rhe other way around. You can see it here. They're getting far more hate for simply not having the same feelings as the commenters did and talking about them.
@@ericmicke4130 I was purposefully being silly. I hate when reactors clearly feel obligated to echo the feelings of their viewers in some sort of masturbatory echo chamber. That being said, Maple was HEATED and disagreeing with her truly felt like I was in trouble.
Maple, why you so mad 😂?
Girlboss lost
Unfortunately, it seems pretty clear to me they fell into the girl boss trap. Sofia is not a good person. Sofia is NOT a girl boss. She's not yas queen. She's a villain. She's not as bad as Oz, but the show REALLY goes out of it's way to paint her as AWFUL, and Maple just... Didn't want to see it.
Nah, she is a girl boss and a villain. But mainly she's the show's antagonist, so it shouldn't be surprising she doesn't win.
@@LeVidocq She's NOT a girl boss. She's a mass murderer who tries to fricking gaslight a child exactly like her father did to her. She's what happens if instead of saving Selina's soul in The Batman she goes full vengeance villain.
Wait, you're telling me the girl on the left who speaks with vocal fry and says "like" every other word didn't like the ending of The Penguin? Well speaking of predictable 😂 with all due respect and very little offense intended but who didn't see that coming?
oh lord this sucked to watch
This is 100% not the end of Sofia’s story!
Lol it will proably be all solved and continue the story in the batman part 2.
Very disappointed in you two. I gave you far too much credit
Why?
Just their opinion dude. It’s not that serious
They really thought Sofia was gonna win the war. Lol.
It's literally called the Penguin.
@ they didn’t think that, they wanted it. Arianna even predicts Sofia was gonna get sent back to Arkham. Sofia winning would be a less predictable outcome.
