Moprh (the ability) is busted ability in the right hands and in the right lineup. One of the things that your chat didn't seen to touch upon is that certain buffs will carry over when you go back into Morphling from the hero you transformed into. The most common example is Earthshaker. You remember shaker has the enchant totem ability right? That buffs his next attack to do 4x the attack? Morph to shaker, cast totem, switch back to Morphling. You will still retain the Enchant Totem buff BUT it now scales off Morphling's attack. Switch to full Agi and you're looking at one shotting most of the enemy team. Add in Aghanim Scepter, and now you're looking at a very mobile, tanky (remember the bonus 40% stat resist), high damage hero. The aghs is also pretty broken. You have to remember that its not just a self buff, its a STEAL. Cast it on an enemy carry and you are applying a huge 20% stat debuff on top of the 70 attack speed reduction on them.
yea and the best part about this is the Debuff is only dispellable by death. Which means the Debuff works like doom's ultimate doom lol. Also remember the Status resistance oyu steal is also affecting the targethero. Which means any disable on that hero is now 40& longer. With other items&abilities that give spellamp or status resistance reduction you can increase that insanely.
Yep, morph player needs to keep track of so much stuff. Morph cds, morphed hero cds, both health bars. Also if you transform into invoker, you need to keep track of what spells he has invoked. New morph is very skill intensive, argueably the hardest hero to master fully.
This game was a really good showing for how far your game sense has come! You made lots of good instinctual calls about when to back off, where to be, how to spend your time - it was awesome! Thanks as always Grubby, this series is so much fun :)
after 5000 hours of dota I consider morph to be the hardest hero to play. Micro skills can be aquired, infact visage is my most played hero, but there is so much to keep track of as morph and it's something that is entirely unique to him
It's just me that really loves Grubby's demo mode, but don't watch the games that much? I have to watch all heroes demo mode with him at least! I for sure can say I do watch most of the heroes demo mode but just a few entire games.
@@MittensOnly exactly, the games itself have some great moments as well. I'm just not as tolerant with new dota players as I should be. I need therapy :'(
@@bondedomao it's been really encouraging for players like me who have too intimidated to really give Dota a try. This series has inspired me to practice real hard and I'm beginning to feel competent at the game, it's been much fun :)
Yeah, I'm the same, I've been playing for 9 years now but can't be bothered to read patch notes for heroes I don't play, So I've actually discovered a few things about some heroes that I didn't know. I don't have the attention span to watch full games, but enjoy the clips.
yeah i watched maybe 1-2 games and all (i guess) demo modes, i just dont enjoy watching someone's 1k mmr gameplay. cant wait to see grubby reaching 3/4k tho
This hero is one of the hardest for Legacy Key Users (since the ultimate is R, and some heroes have R as their basic ability, so they need to left click ) Not only that, but you must memorize every hotkey of said copied hero as a Legacy Key user I envy you qwers hahaha (Chen and Lifestealer infested creep is more frustrating)
you use agi to chase enemies while they arent hitting you back and str to tank their hits, but dont let your str too low , they might turn around and 1 hit you all there is
Hey Grubby, one of the best tips I noticed. When you have heroes that have low cd burst aoe spell (waveform, carrion swarm and crystal nova). You hit every creep to a certain health then burst the group to farm faster and safer. This is good especially when pushing the side lanes.
16:00 the opposite.. you need to be low on str(hp pool) so you can use consumable to increase your maxhp% more.. Salve will heal for 400 hp, at low level, your hp would be around 500~600ish, effectively healing 80% compared to atleast 2k hp on full str, only healing 20%..
Just a tip for morph, laning stage and in general, you should always think about how much agility you can keep without dying, because agility gives you damage (its your primary attribute), armor and atk speed by sitting on high strength, Morph loses all of his killing potential
Hey Grub, I suggest that after learning aghanims and shard and talent, you also think who's the good ban or a counter for your hero before finding a match.
think about the thing you can build strength or agility primary items (OR BOTH) for their passive or active item component just because you can shift your attributes. The combination is totaly up to you
Morph is the hardest hero to play in my opinion (5000h+), requires ultimate creativity and reaction speed, based on your deep understanding of the game. Few pro players can really handle it in a real game honestly.
You should've early buy ethereal blade then use adaptive strike on the enemy supports you can 1 shot them completely. And don't focus on those tankers focus on the squishy heroes to kill.
the reason you dont see morphs r a lot is he just steals stats and swaps back. Most morphs are stronger in true form than any champ they can morph into as they snowball.
Oh man, but that was terrible to lion, he got your back through the whole game and the moment he needed you u left him, u should pay more attention to the map and chat
Sometimes, when a video is extra special, like a very anticipated hero or a coaching session, we'll change the order a bit to have it as the first video of the day, which tends to be recommanded more to viewers, but 90% of the time it's normal, in sequence A to Z ;) hope that's not too much of an inconvenience!
Ackshually the model of Morphling is not the water elemental from Archmage, but the Reef/Sea elemental creep on Naga tilesets with a ranged bash

the most US comment I've read
Grubby's Druggy

Eat, sleep, watch Grubby. Repeat.
facts.
Morph should be the epitome of his A to Z journey 😂😂😂
Mad respect to that lion, he managed the wave state so well.
just my pleb opinion but i think ever since they gave morphling this ulti, he has the highest skill ceiling in all of dota 2.

No, if you morph into other heroes, you can always morph back into morphling with that hero ulti legacy key. they fixed that bug long time ago

I used to play morphling well back in DotA1, Now I'm older ot just feels so taxing to do it well.. Maybe I should give it another try.
Ah yes now I can die in peace
Morph's ultimate is basically the final exam
Pro tip for noob morf: Don't up your 3rd skill until u have heart of tarasque.
22:49 - The Morphling Incident
22:50 Opps, all agi.
Morphing time!

lol i remember my first time playing morph, he made me feel i had no bussines in tis game
