How many coaches did they used to work with as minimum?

Hi Alycia, the shortest normal rake for a HST was seven coaches and two power cars. Virgin and Intercity did sometimes run rakes comprising of 5 or 6 coaches. However, both GWR and Scotrail are now running sets which include just 2 power cars and 5 coaches on a daily basis.
