The MV actually shows that they shuts down the old blackpink. And the references are actually given to show that their old songs are shut down and this is the new era of BlackPink. Easter eggs are really given from the teaser.

Agree it is a changing of the guard if you will from the old to the new. The ending of this signifies that getting in the lift and going UP to a empty white room. Signifying they have progressed higher than were and now moving towards a new phase in their development. It is also a serious dig at their haters. Basically saying you can say what you like but we are here you are not does not matter what you say we are still better than you.
