Just for future reference, the airport gives a horrible exchange rate on foreign currency. It's a lot easier to just get a regular credit card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees and use that the whole time (Bank of America and Capital One both have cards like that). Or it's cheaper to wait until you get off the plane, find an ATM, and just pull money out (they charge a flat fee of like $5 per time, so pull out as much money as you can at once).
Oh trust me, I definitely know that the airport has a horrible exchange rate. However, for this trip, I just didn't really have another option. The credit card I used for my last Europe trip had expired and I didn't realize it until a couple days before the trip and didn't have time to get a new one. I have a Discover card with no foreign transaction fees but it isn't accepted many places in Europe yet. I don't like to use ATMs abroad just for security reasons with my card and I didn't want to wait until I got to Europe to try to take out money just in case something went wrong and then I would end up screwed. Hopefully that makes sense! Usually I plan ahead better but I was so busy writing subs plans leading up to this trip that I literally didn't have time and had no other choice!
My sister goes to Barcelona every year and she never makes videos of her experiences. Thank you for sharing this because she taking my mom next week and I'm pretty jealous but it's nice to see what Barcelona is like since I've never "seen" the place😊

I love your candid view on the good, the bad and the ugly. All of your emotions are sooo typical. As long as you continue to try different strategies on how to improve behavior you will find that each year gets better. Your experience approach and ability to let some things go will make life much more bearable.

Similar bad service experiences from time to time, very different customer service scene in Europe. It's made me a lot more of an assertive person though! And an avid TripAdvisor reviewer lol. I hope you got the chance to try some tapas at another restaurant!

Just give me a room close to the adults only pool (I also work with kids), a balcony to sit out on, a Big screen TV, soaking tub, and room service... and I would be a happy girl.
