Are you judgmental?? 😬| How judging affects healing

- Let’s cut to the chase-we all judge other people. Ouch, right?
But what’s the big deal? How does judging affect healing?
My own journey with judging is extensive. So I’m not pointing fingers here. But God taught me that when I judge someone else, I’m defacing His creation. This is a person God made who He thinks is precious, and I’m vandalizing that beautiful soul.
In turn, the judgmental attitude comes back on you (and me!). For example, if I judge other women for being too girly or emotional, I’m devaluing my own femininity and the amazing way God made me. That puts up roadblocks for receiving God’s love. How? When you let down these barriers, like judging, God’s healing love can flow through your whole body.
What does judging look like?
Pride
Comparison
Inflating yourself
Fear over love
This topic isn’t easy, and I don’t mean to ruffle feathers. But part of growing with God is taking a hard look at these things, and then asking Jesus to reveal potential areas where you may be judging others.
As your heart softens to others, more and more of God’s love will pour through. And then you’ll be better equipped to love others more than you ever thought possible.
Oh, and you’ll heal in the process. Win-win.

I am with you Brea! God has brought me on a similar journey, especially in the arena of how I see other women. I had a history of a lot of "girl hurt" that I was holding onto. However, I have found deep freedom in this area. My world has truly opened up since I recognized this area of brokenness and brought it before God. I went from feeling so isolated and like an outsider to experiencing abundant and deep community--it is truly only God!

I’ve been putting up roadblocks! Yes! 100% I feel resistance when I think of putting my full trust in God most likely because I have been let down my male figures in my life.
Thank you so much. I always had a 'feeling' that I was somehow judging others; but couldn't grasp the reality of it. I believe I have been judging others about their health and fitness. About their ability to be spontaneous and just live each day to the full. There have been many times where I have watched many medical shows, always thinking that I was immersed in them because I liked the diagnosis and outcome aspects; but maybe I was just comparing myself with them, and thinking deep down that even though I've been so unwell, that I'm not as bad as them???
So glad it was helpful! It takes a lot of humility to set your pride aside and look for where you may be judging others. Continue to ask God about this and He will show up. Prayers!
