I hate people say "blah blah inspired" when it's actually not, it doesn't mean it can't be similar in some ways, that's what happened with the Gilded Wolves, everyone was like "Six of crows inspired" and people rated it lower because it wasn't what they were expecting or because they thought it was stealing from Six of Crows which ??? Six of Crows wasn't the first heist book, it won't be the last and it certainly wasn't the best. Listen...you need to look up the new covers for Mirage and Court of Lions (the sequel I believe) because my jaw dropped, why didn't they just start with those covers instead of doing a cover change lol (I like the original but not as much as I love seeing POC on the covers) anyway, I read it last year and I really enjoyed it! Great recs!
My years' goal are to read more diversely and to read more retellings. I just added "A Forest of Thousand Lanterns" to my TBR. I'm very excited to start this one.
