Honestly, my favorite part is the entire video. Paramount, Disney, HBO, Hollywood, etc. can put put out 10-15 episodes every year or two for tens of millions of dollars and I’d rather watch videos of real life adventures like this with real people doing real things than anything else! Love your videos, thank you and I hope you can keep them coming!
Wow, incredibly beautiful! Oh, I have been caught in a flash flood in the desert once. We weren't expecting rain, either. We had to hike through two miles of flooded terrain that turned to mud instantly. Each and every step we took had 5 lbs of mud! It was brutal.

Hola Señor, I’ve been watching your amazing videos for long time, this time Paradise Cyn got my attention, I’m a Mexican photographer living in LA for 25 years, that part of the Canyon is just naturally aesthetically Beautiful, what a place ! Thanks for your amazing content .
Hi! I've been watching your videos for a while now, and I love the adventures you go on, like these. I can't do any scrambling, but I can still go on these trips because of you. Thank you!!
Truly Awsome tribute to your dad. I got misty eyed! My dad is slowing down with medical issues, and you brought me back to our outdoor days. Thank you!
It's always great to hike slot canyons. It's tough for cameras to give a good feel but I thought you did a great job. I enjoyed your commentary too. Thanks for taking us along.
If that is a radiator cap on your shower water heater, look at the label; it should be marked at some pressure, typically 15 PSI or so. You hear it venting because you put a higher pressure in the tube, and it is releasing the excess. Good video! You go into wonderful places, that I will never get to myself, and I really appreciate your sharing the adventure. Looking forward to the next adventure.
I'm one of those pitiful folks who puts on a parka when it hits 55 Fahrenheit. Heights scare me, too, yet I can't get enough of seeing your treks. Props on keeping on. Happy trails for the rest of your great adventures.
So I'm in the process of converting my suv into a camping setup as well, this is the lifestyle that I want as I near my 30's. And it's crazy to think that watching this video gives me total anxiety, HOWEVER being able to push myself to go do these things makes me excited. I hate living in Florida because I don't get much of this unless I travel bit but I need my vehicle prepared. Dude. Thank you, you've been a huge encouragement for me.

Thanks for watching! I think the nerves are normal. Once you do it a few times, it'll definitely get easier! And yes, shorter shakedown trips are super helpful 👍
I started solo camping in my late 40's and doing it in a car gives you an extra layer of safety. I traveled across Canada summer before last on my own, there was anxiety but it was really great
Although you had more glitches in this one than usual, you still managed to make an interesting, visually stunning video. Without glitches we, the audience, forget how much work goes into putting together a top RUclips piece! Thank you.
We hiked in Bull Valley Gorge maybe 20 years ago. There was not snow but it was very muddy in the bottom, sink to your knee kind of mud. As I recall we walked downstream from the bridge, down into the canyon, the upstream to the bridge. I think you and Michael Kelsey might be on a level above the normal hiker. If I make an athletic event out of it I can sometimes come close to his times, but he is notorious for being very fast and getting over obstacles that turn back the normal experienced hiker. It's common for radiator caps to be limited to about 16 psi. If your tank is full of water there isn't much room for pressurized air and as you use the water the pressure will drop quickly. If the tank is maybe half full of water then you have more room for pressurized water and it would maintain pressure against the water longer.
So neat to hear how you decided to find that spot: a picture in a book. Similarly I now seek new places I learn about…but often from RUclipsrs like yourself!!
I love all of your videos.....but this one was .... pretty freakin awesome. These slot canyons are creepy, amazing, beautiful, scary. The truck was definitely sad but pretty amazing in the sense of it all. Don't you worry about snakes being down in there? Or is that not a thing? Thank you for all that you do Tristen. I do not ever see myself doing something like this but thanks to you.........I can experience this via your videos. Keep up the good work !!!!
Aha! Foresty Forest in an SUV with no dog and no cooking! Thanks for taking us along; I'm watching while I sew the binding on a quilt while it's raining in Montana.
It's so great that you showed the climb out when retrieving your camera, good for beginners to ensure they can climb back out before deciding to climb down.
Always; going in is optional, getting out is mandatory. J.T.N.P. SAR. Rescued a lot of people that got into that sort of situation. Good job, as always. Way cool slot! (18 psi radiator cap!)
I can relate to seeing a picture and the thought of, “Yes, I want to go there and be in that spot. Smell the air, take in the sounds, and enjoy the moments of seeing it live”. Your Cosmic Ashtray vid was definitely one that introduced a previously unknown place to me and I thought, “yep, have to go see that!”
Great hero shot near the logs. The shots showing the vertical perspective underneath the car crash were also cool. What a neat place to explore, thanks for the video.
You show the reality of having a YT channel , by having to set a scene up but also having to go back up for the camera lol nd I love the way you explain as your doing it, instead of talking for minutes in the beginning of the video. Plus his advice also is worth watching, so thanks for keepn it real .
2 yrs ago while in a photo workshop, we were heading into Leprechaun Canyon in UT and met a guy coming out. It was Michael Kelsey. I got a quick selfie with him as I’ve always been in awe of his skills and have many of his books.
I was just at Grosvenor Arch in mid march. IT was easy going around the formation to the right if you face the arch and then a non technical climb to view the arches looking down from the backside. Some amazing views from up there and I spent a most enjoyable time exploring up there !
We just want to say hello and wish you all the best. We really love your videos, it‘s a wonderful way to be in that beautiful landscape again without having to travel to the USA, which is a long way from Switzerland. 🙂🙂🙂
Those slot canyons were SO COOL!!! And massive! The ominous one.....I was saying to myself, I hope he walks in there! Great episode. I can't wait to explore a slot canyon someday.
Nice video! I have been to that area a few times. Last year hiked down Bull Valley Gorge to the Paria river, then back up Willis Slot Canyon. The bridge at Bull valley is fairly new, just the past few years. Before that, the crossing was just like dirt over a culvert or something, with no side rails. It was scary!!!
Ooh, that slot canyon looked like it had teeth and was ready to chew you up and spit you out! And ah, yes, MIcheal Kelsey. We have four of his books. Amazing resource to lots of off the beaten path hikes. But be prepared to go rugged and be able to route find. Not for beginners. Great rewards if you go out there with a sense of exploring and adventure. Just listen to your "little voice" and bail out when it feels uncomfortable. Great vid as always!
Radiator caps are tricky. When you first set them in the hole and tighten it, you've only put half way on. You then have to press down and tighten it more. If you look from the side, you can see where the 'stops' are, to know its on completely. The spring in the cap is pretty firm to press down.
WOW that was amazing! I’m afraid of heights ,those videos didn’t bother me but this video oh my gosh, super scary , I know I would never get myself to do something like that ,I’m glad you did because I loved watching you brave this particular adventure thank you
What amazes me is you dedication to showing the trek, by filming yourself, and then retrieving your camera. You must almost double the miles you travel.
Loved the slot canyon hike. The fact that you didn't plan thoroughly for the hike, e.g. where to descend and whether you would be able to climb back out made your video a little suspenseful. Maybe next time you can film a cliffhanger (pun intended) and leave us sitting on the edge of our seats. 😀 Can't wait for your next adventure! Thanks, Tristan!
Your comments re the gruesome deaths next to the bridge reminds me of one visit to Antelope Slot Canyon near Page in Arizona. I'm an oldtimer Englishman who took a friend down this famous slot canyon mid September 2003.We paid an extortionate fee being on Navajo lands. A plaque at the entrance stated that eleven people died down there on 12 August 1997 in a flash flood. Two were never found. A beautiful canyon but a shadow was still hanging over the place.
HI TRISTAN 👋 THAT'S PRETTY COOL 😎 THANK YOU 🙏 STILL REALLY DIFFERENT & HOPEFULLY THE WEATHER PERSONAL ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE WEATHER THERE ! BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 THANK YOU 🙏
Another beautiful exploration. One more for the bucket list. The cave was very cool. I imagine that reflected light from the massive cave entry makes its way to the greenery to keep them going. The fact that the city strip is visible is extra cool. Might have to get into one of the tall buildings in Vegas & search for the cave vis telescope, for kicks. Regarding the slot canyon, it is equally impressive that besides the logs/trees, there are some impressively large boulders hanging on overhead in a few areas as well. And, Good Lord, that last boulder was as big as a house!!
verry good video. i love watching you youngans going into all the canions. at this time i watch 3 of you men. i love the indian Ruins. Blessings to you. Old lady near okla city, oklahoma.
Words that I have never heard put together before: "Pure slot canyon experience". Beautiful video! Seeing the truck wedged in the canyon was really eerie. Really enjoyable to see this video - thank you, Tristan!
I'm planning a 7 day hiking adventure in the Grand Staircase Escalante in late April this year. I've enjoyed your videos of Utah. I won't be in this particular slot canyon, but I'm excited to explore other ones.
I have watched 2 of your videos today and they are both things that I have done out of Kelsey's book. I find a lot of other RUclipsr's use it too. It's pretty great. I came up Skutumpah road the other direction and did a couple other slot canyons too that day, then stayed exactly at the campsite you stayed at in the same spot. The rock formations in the distance I think are the outskirts of Bryce. I love that part of Utah. Have you been to yellow rock/red top? Just down the road from Grosvener Arch. There's another narrow canyon at a place I call candyland, others call it Cock's Comb. Then further down is Brigham Plains road and yellow rock and Hackberry canyon. Take your 4x4. Brigham Plains road goes straight up the cliff, and over the top down a wash in a canyon on the other side and out by the road to the toadstools.
Incase someone hasn't already mentioned, Radiator caps are rated by PSI & that cap should say it's rating stamp into it. You likely just have a bad cap gasket or need a higher PSI cap. Super cool canyons!
I am glad you have a guardian angel that watches over you when you’re down there by yourself and I’m also glad that you always let people know exactly where you are. That is a beautiful slot canyon, a little bit intimidating but beautiful. I love your SUV riding your Tenkara addict and your Tenkara yarn company. Thanks
Another good video, Tristan. I've seen many slots, but never heard of Paradise. Kelsey is an amazing resource. Love the slots along Skutumpah Rd, Lick Wash and Willis Creek in addition to Bull Valley Gorge.
Amazing slot canyons and your footage if spectacular. Thanks for going the extra mile (literally) with the hiking scenes. I enjoy your commentary as well.
I can't even imagine the job of extracting the men from that truck. I mean... I'm assuming they did. 😬 The first canyon seems like an enjoyable little adventure though. Kind of like Cathedral Gorge in northern Arizona in that you have multiple levels to get around... but narrower.
Thanks again Tristan for another amazing video share with us. I feel like I’m climbing with you and catch myself holding my breath or grunting every now and then as we climb a difficult terrain. The Truck was very eerie and had a real solitude moment. Love Slot Canyons and the beautiful texture and designs of the rock. We have a gorgeous Country that holds splendid landscape within its boundaries. Thank you
I've watched you traverse some pretty tricky terrain knowing you had to go back to fetch your camera but nothing has given me the willies more than crossing that barbed wire fence.
a couple years ago we went to that area, walked a different slot canyon and on another day did the road to Grosvenor, decided to continue on that road north and it ends up at Kodachrome and you can go around to pinks sands from there, such a cool trip, yours looks awesome too
I can appreciate a videographers desire for that smooth stable shot. And I understand that if we're watching this you clearly made it out and home again "in one piece". As a viewer though I often like the unsteady pov shots, whether on the head or chest or in hand, because it's relieving to know that you aren't climbing the dangerous parts twice. I would have trouble hiking that one time and you are doing it almost twice to get those amazing shots. Kudos. They are amazing shots. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not knockin' a thing. Your shots are awesome!
I was there last summer (2021) to hike Willis Creek Slot and to see the truck in Bull Gorge. If you continued down Bull Gorge (east) past the truck you will come to Willis Creek slot and then turn back to the parking lot for Willis Creek. When you were on the bridge you were only a mile from Willis Creek. Both slots are very worth while.
Good vid, as usual. But the BEST part of this vid, anyway, is that I am sitting at a BEAUTIFUL campsite in northern N.M., heading to Canyonlands. I am travelling around in my 2012 Suby Outback. I first learned of the idea of “rv’ing in my Suby about 4 yrs ago from you, and it is finally happening! It was a ROUGH start from Arkansas going through Oklahoma and Texas….wind has been horrific, so much so that I stayed twice at a motel. But then today, I quite accidentally found this wonderful campsite and the wind is even doable. It is sooo nice to be watching your vid in this scenario!!! 👌🏻😊
Very cool! Glad you found the log jam you were looking for. We enjoyed Lower Antelope Canyon in January, so this slot canyon was neat to see and bring back our slot canyon memories. Nice double arch too! This one was full of interesting places. Thanks!
Thanks, I enjoyed the video. I have been through Spooky, Peek a Boo, a little bit of Buckskin and I tried to make it to Harris once but feel a little short of the canyon. I love that area.
Loved the video, the slots, the slickrock and the gorgeous pinyon/juniper against the blue sky. Have loved this landscape since I was 20 years old and I admire your creativity with the shower! If it wasn't for those darned southern Utah winds, showers would be much more enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing your older videos.

Same, probably 80% of what I watch is RUclips original content. Way more pure and interesting, imo.
Mee too , I dont own a Tv , these are so much better
I did the RUclips trial of no ads for $15 mo and it’s great. It’s 80% of my watching now.
This is a thousand times better than broadcast TV

I find it anazing that these trees can grow on rock, with luttle moisture or soik!
I have seen these trees grow in crazy positions. Ice plants covering dunes at beaches.

The lighting down in this slot canyon is really amazing!
Definitely worth a second watch of this video!

You are so correct. A good compass. Not junk from Walmart.
Your photo and pose looks better than the guide book's. Southern Utah is crazy beautiful!

I didn’t really get the scope of the canyon until that distance shot of you walking away from camera, with the canyon walls towering above. Well done!

If that is a radiator cap on your shower water heater, look at the label; it should be marked at some pressure, typically 15 PSI or so. You hear it venting because you put a higher pressure in the tube, and it is releasing the excess.

There are formations like this at Niagra Glenn near Niagara Falls Canada. Not as extensive. But cool. Thank you for showing this. 🌞🇨🇦
What a beautiful canyon. Thx for sharing.
I agree. My short legs would not have managed.
a couple years ago we went to that area, walked a different slot canyon and on another day did the road to Grosvenor, decided to continue on that road north and it ends up at Kodachrome and you can go around to pinks sands from there, such a cool trip, yours looks awesome too
What a treat! Thank you SO much!
Tristan, WoW, another interesting video. The slot canyons are amazing!
Thanks Essie!
that place looked awesome , a cave with fresh air and skylights
Yikes it gives me goose bumps
Tristen great slot video good thing you are slim to navigate the narrows.
We have a solar shower in a bag. My husband built a small pallet to stand on, so our feet don't get muddy. Great video. Nancy
I have a couple of the solar bag showers too. They work fine, but I haven't found anything that I love yet. Thanks for watching!
Thoroughly enjoyed the Slot Canyons video, too scary for me to do but wonderful to go with you. Thankyou🙏
Beautiful canyons, I love the way the trees& stones stuck between the walls.Man I don't like the narrow canyons. Great work.Love All We Meet Today.
Slot canyons are my favorite!! Especially when they are apart of a trail that you didn't expect to run across!
Nice video and i even learned a new word. Cairn! I always had called them a pile of rocks.
That works too! 😁
Ha ha .. that works too ..
Very cool! Glad you found the log jam you were looking for. We enjoyed Lower Antelope Canyon in January, so this slot canyon was neat to see and bring back our slot canyon memories. Nice double arch too! This one was full of interesting places. Thanks!
This is an amazing video. Thank you so much for posting.
Thanks again for the interesting hike!
Fantastic! 👏 A friend told me about the Bull Gorge and the truck. This video gave a great prospective on the slot canyons. 👍
Excellent adventure.
Incredible!
Really interesting, rarely visited slot canyons. Thanks
