Zooming is necessary. Proper zooming helps many to shoot pictures. Carrying lens with DSLR is a quite tedious job but one can easily carry a mobile.
I only find two practical uses of the periscope zoom cameras i.e. clicking the image of moon or the images of birds. Yes it is a niche feature, but sure is interesting. 👍

Periscope zoom is useful in stadiums, where you are sitting in a distance but want to click picture of the player. Or let's say you are in the convocation ceremony and want to take a picture of the special moment.
More practical when we are in the long gallery style classroom and want to take a snapshot of what professor is writing on the board.

According to my personal views , I love this zoom feature , currently I am using s20fe 5g and I widely use this zoom feature, like in moon photography, for clear view of far object, for flex also😜 Previously I had realme 6 pro , which was have 20x zoom....so I love telephoto lence camera setup 🙏🌚
That moon photograph has layer of AI generated picture and it's not the actual or accurate image

It's very usefull in mountains and jungles for photography, especially in the Himalayas upto 40x hybrid zoom...you can clearly see and capture the mesmerising snowy picks, vivid wildlifes...though it would not be good as dslr but decent enough to capture the moment and post in social networking sites...egar to see 20x optical zoom in next samsung flagship...

I switched from samsung to iqoo phone, now i am realising the importance of call recording, it's a good feature to have in a smartphone. Really missing it, will be switching back to samsung in a year or less.
Soon iqoo will release an update where you will get iqoo dialer instead of Google dialer....this has already done in vivo x80 series
No need to return, Samsung will remove call recording with an smol update.

Optical zoom is best for portrait photography and also helps in video recording of any concert from a long distance. I am using Samsung S21fe, it is very nice than many of the smartphone for the above mentioned things. Though it is below average for gamers.
I like to capture animals , when you get close to them their natural behaviour changed or they moved away from the location ,
So in that type of cases I like to have a good zooming camera or lens ,
10x or 30x mechanical zoom are so good ,
I don't relie on degital zoom
Currently I'm using iphone 13 pro ,
It's good , I like the video processing and other stuff , it's so close to a good camera setup ,
I use Google pixel latest smartphone , they good in photography but not in videography compare to iphone
Night mode are a little better then Iphone in some cases ,
But the depth , sharpness and colors are good in both
I like soft experience of both smartphone in the OS ,
But I like IOS a little better then Android ,,
