    Well said Chris. Nice to hear a fighter being so honest.

    • @JayJordanJuly

      But criminally cowardly. He ducked all the best fighters ... and was a 2nd rate “champion” on tv with a monacle!! disgraceful. There were so many great fighters at that time ... Eubank played it way too safe and clowned around like a mummer. It was very frustrating to watch. McCallum, Nunn, Graham, Tony.... there could have been some lovely fights there. Very sad to look back on that time and see the missed opportunities.

      @Stevey wevey: Can I ask your age Stevey? Were you around and watching boxing 20/30 years ago?

    • @JayJordanJuly
      @JayJordanJuly 3 года назад +1

      @Stevey wevey: It’s nice to know that there are other British boxing fans still tuned in. I’m 54 and watched the welter, middle & heavyweights with my grandad. It was a magical time and to remember Julian Jackson, Nigel Benn, Micheal Nunn and the others was a religious experience for me. The great thing about Benn was that he fought anyone. He didn’t care about the clowning; he was a warrior and could easily have been seriously hurt by the quality fighters he took on.
      Watching Eubank always made me want to shrink under my seat. Remember “marry me Karen!” ? Or the pimped out lorry he drove? A very embarrassing man who was more WWE than blood & guts fighter.
      My favourite fight of the time was Sibson/Hagler or even Hearns/Hagler because those guys didn’t duck fights.

    • @JayJordanJuly
      @JayJordanJuly 3 года назад

      @Stevey wevey: Sad isn’t it? We go back and watch champions from 20, 30 & 40 years ago because of the glass chinned, fight ducking hype trains in the sport today. I’m glad to know that you’re enjoying those older fights. Hagler/Hearns is my favourite but there are so many of Jackson, Nunn and Benn’s fights that are immortal. Mike McCallum was a beast at that time and Watson fought him.

    • @JayJordanJuly
      @JayJordanJuly 3 года назад

      @Stevey wevey : Benn McClellen was his best ever fight. I hadn’t rated him highly until that performance. He should have lost that fight but he just went beast mode. It was very rousing; even watching it today I’m impressed.

      @@ritchie-c8zhe wasn't overatted. Barrera wasn't a step up for him, Amir Khan beat Barrera. Nas had just got too big headed, he had left the Ingle Gym and became lazy, after falling into the hype and believing he was God after his head swelling up too much. Before that when he fought at the Ingle gym, there's no way he wouldve lost to Barrera. He wouldve knocked Barrera clean out and carried on beating the best if he hasn't allowed his head to get too big.
      He litterally stopped training after leaving Ingle. Brendan wouldn't take him back when Nas realised his mistake, because he had already said too much bad about Brendan when he left, because of money becoming his God. If you watch him in the Barrera fight, it's the only fight that he didnt jump overthe ring with his usual flip over the ring entrance. Because he litterally had no strength when entering the ring for the fight. He was in the sauna the whole night before the weight in trying to lose the last few pounds because of being overweight through becoming lazy and not training, he was a totally weaker different fighter. Its easy to think he lost after stepping up. But as I say, if you know how he had become totally lazy and a different fighter. And like I say, Khan beat Barrera, so Barrera wasn't any better than Nas was before his head swelled because Nas would've knocked Amir Khan out, had he carried on fighting at top level.
      Nas had already retired many top level world champions prior to losing to Barrera.
      As I say, just watch his ring entrance to Barrera, and youll be able to see how he couldnt do his usual flip, because he lotterally had no strength going into the fight. To say he had become so lazy and was so weak, he actually did quite well. As I say, if you look at it, knowing the fact, youll realise howhe'd have knocked barrera out had he not become lazy and had still been with the Ingle gym

    • @JohnJohnson-oz1yp

      He wasn't overatted, he'd already beaten plenty of world champions before fighting Barrera. He just stopped training after leaving the Ingle gym and his head swelling up, believing the hype that he was the best so didnt need to train and became lazy.
      He didnt even have qny strength when entering the ring for the Barrera fight, after being up all night in the sauna trying to lose the last few pound, the night before the weigh in, because of becoming so lazy and being overweight. Watch the ring entrance, and youll see how it isthe only fight that he didnt have the strength to do his usual right entrance of flipping himself over the ring. When you realise how weak he was going into that fight, its actually quite anazing how well he did to make it to the end against Barrera. But Barrera wasnt really a step up, it was him who had stepped down training. He tried to go back to the Ingle gym but Brendan wouldnt take him back because of the things he had said about him after money becoming his God. Immanuel Stuard himself said to Brendan Ingle a few nights before the Barrera fight how he wouldnt listen to him, and said to Brendan, "there's only you who can train Nas, he wont listen to me. He's become lazy and is telling me how to train him." Amir Kham beat Barrera. Nas wouldve knocked them both out at his best, had he carried on in the Ingle gym and not let his head get too big.

He completely out boxed Jackson and was so unfortunate to get caught late. And when Jackson caught you, you stayed caught for about a year after. His nickname was the Hawk but he had so much power it might as well have been, 'the end'. I've still never seen anyone hit harder p4p. I had him up against Brewer in his last fight and attempt but he was a lot older at that point. He never really got the opportunities because of the talent pool around him. I think Herol Graham used to frustrate his opponents so much with his unique style (he was a right-handed southpaw, by the way), that they'd get desperate to land punches, leave themselves open, and make mistakes. He was just seconds away from being the WBC Middleweight Champion of the World when he walked onto a Julain Jackson haymaker and was out like a light before hitting the canvas - Jackson was blind in one eye at the time caused by walking onto Herol's punches. He was winnning the Charles Brewer

      Eubank was very careful with his words.He said that he couldn't hit Herol, which doesn't mean that he wasn't as good, because he qualified it by saying that people would say he's not in my league. Although "if he wanted.", You could not hit Herrol (and I mean anyone(Benn said this, as well), when he was in a 12 round fight, having got all his options, would mean he would have to achieve a style in which to win the fight and 1 of his worst capabilities was "impulsivity" and "decision-mmaking".He would always make stupid decisions at points within fights, after dominating.
      He was also very unlucky in When he came upon the scene and within fights such as against the great Mike McCollum and Julian Jackson. He got the title fight, just before Eubank Watson and Benn, came on the scene, lost and went to the back of the queue.By the time he gained more traction, the Eubank Benn, Watson merry-go-round was already in full flow ahead of him.

      @88Burbank He talks about the warrior code, however he's being conditional. I respect Eubank Sr to the utmost. Benn I, Watson II, Thompson II, etc he fought through grave adversity, but warriors don't pick and chose. Herol was a beast and deserved a shot against Benn and Eubank. How is it that Frank Grant can beat Herol Graham and two of the biggest British boxing steered far from him? Cut the shit guys. He ducked James Toney( who disrespected Benn and Eubank), Roy Jones Jr., and Herol Graham. The only reason why I am on Eubank Sr. is how harsh he can be on certain boxers when his past isn't the cleanest.

      I've watched quite a few of Herol Graham's fights, and he DID get hit, only not often. He seemed to take the shot well when he did. 🥊
      But Julian Jackson hit him like a lorry. His power was in a different league to anyone else's who did manage to land one on Graham.

    Not my kind of boxer; a sad trend that I hope will eventually die away in the sport. Duckers, divers and moronic tv clowns. To my mind; boxing is about being a champion. Refusing to fight other boxers out of fear is irritatingly common.
    I never liked Benn but always respected the willingness to fight McCallum. Benn took on all comers and never ducked or dodged with bs excuses. For Eubank to finally admit his fear of Bomber Graham... that’s the tip of the iceberg. Nunn, Toney and many others were also looking for him and he never came forward. Clown bastard. I always hated him.

      Glad you made this point, because I've made it several times on the other videos, because people are always nut hugging Eubank, when they didn't watch him fight and weren't around at the time.
      He gets more credit than he deserves now because when he won the title against Benn, he deliberately only took on bums, after this, Fighting in his own backyard, in a boring style taking no risks(Barelly throwing punches in the fights). Then cherry picked Steve Collins, who he thought was, on the downturn, and made a mistake.Ever since then, the only challenges he took on, were because he was "forced into it", as he didn't have a title
      Nigel, On the other hand, took on allcomers, even when he had the title, Which was a rarity back then, even, but now it's non-existent

      @@Rowlph8888 Glad to see your comment Brother. Boxing is the king of combat sports and I very much appreciate speaking to those that study it objectively.
      For those of us that know boxing it’s essential to commentate accurately in order to save the soul of the sport. Razzmatazz is essential to keep money flowing and attract fighters into the craft; but we also have to weed out cowards and frauds.
      I’m still smarting over idiots like Eubank & Fraudly Harrison who bring the sport into disrepute.

      Benn didn’t want to take on Graham, just like Eubank didn’t. The difference is Benn would have fought him if Graham had a world title. Benn did consider it before he lost to Watson, but his advisor Ambrose Mendy wasn’t keen on the idea. Then again Eubank may have fought him after he beat Benn, and if Graham had beaten Jackson, but only if the money was right.

      @@BikSingh00 And yet… Julian Jackson went into that ring REGARDLESS. Lost every round but did the job.
      I give Benn a pass because he fought Macallum & McClelland. I have to respect that. Eubank will live in infamy for his limitless cowardice.
