So now for rage tank best allies for passives would be lex and superman? Kind of annoying we cant feed allies into eachother, eventually we are going to have like 10+ allies just collecting dust after a lot of money being invested into them as they keep releasing more
agreed. seems like a money grab tbh. it takes way too much to invest into an ally and majority become useless once a better one drops, i'm running SM and bmwl on my tank with the nubia heal as the main ally. i have no intention of switching again.
yea the devs knew how to keep making money with allies compared to artifacts. Even though you don't need seals for allies you spend way more not being able to fortify and the catalyst cost is way higher
@@ObsidianChill That's because the people who would put in cash to max out their allies have mostly done so already, or if they have a new toon know enough to sit on their Nth Metal and catalysts to until double XP weeks which happen more and more frequently. Two of my three mains have all their artifacts at 200, and the other one has his at 200/200/184. There's no imperative for me to waste Nth metal on single XP weeks anymore. Allies is just a reaction to players getting wise to how artifacts work.

This is kind of a crazy notion, but I don't think I'm wrong either; do you think DCUO is trying to phase out the Controller role? Here's my argument: 1. The last artifact that specifically benefited trolls was Grimbor's Chains. 2. Other than Cyborg's passive power regeneration role (while big for trolls, applies to everyone else,) what ally specifically benefits trolls? 3. Before I took a hiatus in May, you weren't seeing a lot of controllers on raids let alone alerts because as a controller, you had to be very good to offset the passive buff for running without a troll as well as the shortfall in damage. 4. It's been almost a year since allies were a thing, and no ally is throwing buffs or debuffs. If they were going to do it, they would have done so by now.
The devs just don't know what to do with the controller role. It's been the same argument since Spytle, they don't want controllers just to be batteries, but they take away the hard stuns and change all the breakout profiles so adds breakout right away and get immunity which interferes with the tanks. Prec DPS barely need a controller, might powers have long channels or finishers in alot of rotations so their power drain is minimal. The only thing the controller is useful for now is just debuffs and player buffs so the dps don't have to use cog/tetra etc. It's really sad what the role has turned into.
@@Jeefren97 right now the only variation with the controller role is behind artifacts which isn't right. I would start with making debuffs mean something, adding enrage timers if something isn't debuffed and have adds that can clear debuffs so you can't just pop and forget about it for 12s while you art swap. I would have controller abilities that would buff different abilities. One troll power could buff health or prec or might etc and have long cooldowns so the troll would have to pick the right moments to buff the group to have the biggest impact. I would also bring POT back because auto pot is ridiculous
@@Jeefren97 Hopefully remember that Hard Light, Quantum, Munitions and Mental (Gadgets is just for goons,) are not just viable powers for DPS. Some players enjoy doing support roles.
As a Fire tank main, Lex Ally is phenomenal. These buffs work well for us. It’s a must for any Fire Tank worth their salt. SM ally damage absorption is nice, but not as much a necessity compared to Lex stat buff since Fire has a damage absorption shield.
seems like the first passive would benefit earth the most since you get the 15% defense increase as well as another bonus defense from the 65% dom defense bonus. personally i wouldn't run it just because i'm contempt with my loadout but mainly because they dropped the SM ally so recently and i'm not keen on paying for another ally/upgrades.
they didn't want the reliance on just the time powers to be used with time bomb and wanted the "space" side of the tree more useful so they significantly handicapped time bomb which made it so players could explore other rotations and then focus on the power interactions
@@ObsidianChill I'll admit that I don't like the changes they did to Singularity and Gravity Bomb. Singularity was a burst power and wasn't that much weaker than gravity Bomb if I recall correctly. It seems they changed it's power interaction as well. Both powers seem a good amount weaker than what I remember.
ok cool at least I know now not to waste my time getting the breakout passive. Ok so control resistance doesnt work at all anymore I'm sure everyone loves being trapped and using a group breakout and your stance changes MAKES SO MUCH SENSE what exactly is the problem with making the general mechanics work. I cant use my tank because taunting doesnt work for more than 1 sec, breakouts are basically useless, my power troll is rendered obsolete even though Its my favorite play style, half the roles are broken just happens to be everything I like. This game is just a useless boring piece of trash now and I've been playing it since it came out its too bad all my progress is a waste I have 6 characters maxed out with double there cr in sp just depressing.

yes, you can save allies to your armories now. I think they broke inspecting other players allies though

Lex is certainly a 100% tank focused ally. No other role can reliably get stunned to breakout or drop their health below 50% consistently.
