      Well heres a non spoiler. Most of the game's updates was done editing the ini file. In otherwords a text like file to bump the 480p to 1280p , remap buttons, and ever else. Because, anyone can edit a ini file nintendo should be selling skyward sword for around $20 unless the music was remastered. The art was redrawn. An new effects were made.
      Because, non of that was done . The game is straight up a wii port on a bad wii emulator nintendo made. Comparing it to the dolphin emulator. Sshd is a bad port .

      @Avinash Anand "most complex dungeons"
      That goes for Majora's Mask. Finishing the Stone Tower Temple felt like i was an architect. It was insanely hard combined with the Great Bay temple and the time management.
      Then, i replayed each dungeon each time in the 3 day cycle, they are that good with the difficulty.

    • @saricubra2867
      @saricubra2867 2 года назад

      @Avinash Anand Well, the straight insanity of switching upside down the Stone Tower Temple and solving each puzzle while doing this, at the same time remembering the location of each puzzle, i also was finding the Stray Fairies...

      I think Breath of the Wild has a great motivator, you’re told to save the princess and go destroy Gannon like 2 minutes into the game. The castle sits right in the center of the map so you can see it from almost anywhere, constantly reminding you what the real goal is while you explore to become more powerful.

    Technically perfect parries will also leave you with unscathed shields in Breath of the Wild. You can confirm this by equipping a new shield and performing a perfect parry. It will still have the sparkles next to it on the item select screen indicating it’s still considered brand new and undamaged.

      BUT-- I'll totally forgive you if you do a video just on the Silent Realms. 😁
      Ok, Ok, I forgive you anyway 'cause this video was awesome regardless and you're really cool people. But do it 'cause it would be great--please? I mean, hey, there's at least 15 minutes of material there. In addition to just discussing the emotional impact they have on you (probably the best part), there's a legit controversy to discuss regarding whether the one-hit-start-from-scratch penalty is too harsh/frustrating/time-consuming or a necessary part of the horror. And can or should other games learn from any of that?

    Skyward Sword was the first time I was able to play a game when it was released. Video games in Brazil aren't cheap and my family never had the money to buy them while they were still current. It was crazy to be able to experience Zelda SS with everyone else and I was in disbelief when I saw everyone saying it was bad online. I really enjoyed it and looking back I think it was all because of the dungeons and the writing. Dungeons were really fun and gimmicky and 2011 was when my English skills were starting to take off. It might be nostalgia speaking, but it is definitely in my top 3 Zelda games (I even have its Master Sword tattooed on my arm).

People give Fi a hard time because she’s constantly telling us of things we already knew, but I don’t mind it sometimes. Fi being there reminds me that all of the adventuring and danger that I traverse through, I’m not going through it alone. Plus she gives battle advice, which to my knowledge has never been done in a Zelda game before. In short, I LOVE Skyward Sword!

    I'm so grateful for the HD remake, because if it wasn't for it I would've never beat Skyward Sword. I got to the first dungeon on the original and hated the motion controls so much I gave up on the game. I'm glad they offered button controls because now I love the game; its one of the best 3D Zeldas IMO.

    Gr8 video, I especially agree with your point on 3 areas not being enough. When I played it again, I was surprised the majority of the game was spent in familiar areas. It's not how I remembered it. It took me a long time to beat it when it came out, but only a few days on my recent play-through. It felt way shorter to me

    Skyward Sword & Twilight Princess - sure they're not technically perfect games-I'm told-but damnit, they were such a significant part of my younger years. And even till this day, that feeling has not diminished one bit. Zelda games just whisk me away to a fantasy world and give me a break from the uglier parts of real life.
    Anyway, awesome video! Awesome narration, natural perfectly timed cuts, smooth transitions, simple but appealing graphics, succinct but knowledge-heavy expositions, etc. etc. I actually had to rewatch sections before I even finished watching the whole thing, just because I enjoyed it so much. Overall, the presentation sets it apart from all other Zelda/game essay videos, in a good way!

      @@Snugboy Ahhhh. Ok, that makes sense. And I absolutely agree, this is by far the most lovable Zelda😻. Although speaking of Twilight Princess, I've also come to appreciate a Zelda that can be compassionate and noble and have a NON-romantic relationship with Link. Or Ocarina where it's more vague. It just happens that in addition to Skyward having you identify with the hero that is smitten with her, Zelda is so beautifully fleshed out in this one and so central to the plot.

    Brilliant video as always man. I agree with you on the story. Playing through it again solidified it as my favorite story of any Zelda game. I have to say I had the opposite reaction to the dungeons though 🤣. I felt that the dungeon exploration was fun for most of them but not many of the bosses were fun for me and most were repeated which was dreadful. But that is a fundamentally subjective opinion. It's why I like BotW more. I also really enjoyed your focus on the small changes. I don't think that was talked about enough in the marketing but it does help the game a lot. Keep up the great work man it's always a joy to sit a watch any video you upload

    I'm glad someone else thinks BotW's dungeons and story were handled poorly. The dungeons were my most favorite part of Zelda games, along with the soundtrack and story. BotW heavily lacked good dungeons (1/4th of the shrines were tests of strength, not to mention the freebie shrines and "dungeons" were all super linear and boring). The story was basically almost nonexistent and I couldn't really care that much about the champions or Zelda since it was just collecting memories of the past out of context. Also, there were very few heavy hitter songs, as most of it was ambient (which makes sense for the game but still sucks cuz it gives us less iconic songs).
    I really hope they fix these changes with BotW 2 but I doubt they will, given how highly rated BotW is. Such a shame.

    Another aspect about the music that is quite interesting and few people seem to notice is that every track in the game affects the harp in some way. If you play the harp well enough in any area the strumming of the harp will eventually begin to mimic that area’s sound font ever so slightly such that if you are into the music in this game makes it worthwhile to revisit every area to see how the harp augments each track individually.

    • @Snugboy

      Yo what??? Is this true?? I’ve never noticed this 🤯

    • @tinyguy9398
      @tinyguy9398 2 года назад +2

      It’s very subtle and you will only notice it once you’ve played the harp in multiple places as its the harp that changes it’s tonal color more so than the main track so you would need to hear it in multiple locations to establish a baseline. Also, you need to play the harp in sweeping motions following the general tempo (not beat) of the track for it to take effect.

      Cool! Let me know how it works out! I have replayed this game many times and this honestly was the first times I even noticed it. So honestly I had to do a double take. It could be that I never noticed it because in previous iterations of the game I hate the harp. But once I realized you could play the harp while running around (not too dissimilar to how you can run around and cut grass in Twilight Princess) I would just start strumming the harp while running around in the second 2/3 of the game to give my hand something to do during the backtracking and that’s when I noticed and said, “wait a minute!”, lol 🙂
