Chanel isn’t the same brand since Karl passed. I purchased 2 bags since, one in 2020 and the other in 2021, both had issues... Meanwhile, my older bags are pristine. It’s rather disappointing but I will never buy a new bag from boutique again. The quality just isn’t there, idk what people are paying for anymore. I’m glad I started young and am mostly content with my collection. I only wish I purchased the classic flap with gold instead of silver hardware. Want to trade? I stopped buying Chanel bags long long ago. I remember checking out the handbags in their boutiques years ago and they all looked so cheaply made. For the price tag, they looked like the same material as the Michael Kors and Tory Burch. I rather use my hard earned money on other things.
I think you are referring to edge stitching? That is only found on the OOV (black and beige) classic flaps and certain other pieces. It is not on every classic flap esp not in the seasonal colors.
I was lucky with my 3 Chanel flaps, they good quality. However, I stopped buying Chanel 3 years ago and switched to Hermes. And it was the best decision! I love Hermes bags more than my Cartier and Van Cleef jewelry. Those bags are stunning!

I used to be a Chanel fanatic but now I am over the brand due to poor quality and price increases. My first ML flap was 1500 and my last jumbo was 5k (I still have five bags left after selling some). No way are these bags worth 10k+. BTW my GST is still in my closet collecting dust. It's a hard bag to wear since it's so boxy.

That’s the thing that puts me off about preloved. I don’t know who owned the bag. Were they dirty nasty or OCD like I am. As for Chanel, I keep hearing horror stories about the quality being really bad. Leather peeling, stitching being off. At those astronomical prices and the bad quality, I don’t see myself ever getting one.
