I love it when Steff sings, "I'm no longer a slave to fear, that was an old life..." That is precisely my testimony! I was more than just "anxious" or "cautious" or "fretful". I was in LITERAL bondage to fear! Severely depressed, couldn't leave the house, couldn't get out of bed and function in everyday life. I failed to complete my second year of Law School because of it and went from being a competent, intelligent, capable person into being a SLAVE to a spirit of bondage, heaviness, despair and utter hopelessness! THANK GOD for His Grace, His Mercy and His Love! By the power of the Holy Spirit, I have followed Bethel teachings, got a hold of your worship, joined a good Church, meditated on God's Word and can see my life being restored and myself being regenerated into the person God intended and created me to be! SO LONG, FAREWELL and I won't miss you Old Life of Slavery to Fear! I love Jonathan and Melissa Helser's part in writing and sharing this song! God Bless!

i know what you're saying because i've also had the same experiences, but thank God because he has shown us that it is just a lie from the enemy and that we are his sons and daughters
I fell the presence of God in me, in my room, what a beautiful song!! yes I'm a child of God!!!
Fear......phobias and anxiety is not only the residue left over from the trauma of alcoholic, drugged up parents, but it's also what has kept me from being a Christian used by God so much more than it turned out. This song speaks to me in a way I never saw before and yet is clear as the love of God. I give those fears to him this very moment, as I've failed on my own so miserably to defeat them. I'll play this song over and over in order to pave the path for the Spirit to do a miracle in my life. My deepest thanks for this song sung with emotion that brings me to tears.

What you've written is the very thing that sets Christianity apart and tells me God is real. To care for and pray for the betterment of someone else you don't even know in today's world is almost unheard of and yet people like you and I do it all the time as we seek to do Gods will and help others out.
I thank you so much for the words you wrote, and I don't doubt them for one second. I grew up so abused the courts took me out of that home, but still I try all I can to be what our Lord wants us to be and to seek our true home that awaits us in heaven. I don't think we can ever forget how we grew up and the wounds never truly heal, so that will always be a place of sadness for me, but I can do for others what wasn't done for me as well. One day, I'll see you there in heaven and I'll remember to hug and thank you for your kindness.

I remember when I first came across this song. A few days later when I was in a room on my own, I could hear this noise in the background. When I actually listened to the noise, I worked out it was me singing out loud "I'm no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God." Over and over again.

my actual only hope in life is to sing like this for God in a way that affects people like this. every time I watch her sing I tear up and you can just see her absolute love for God and how it fills her with JOY. It's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and she is just such a pure form of how our praise should look. I can't wait to start progressing with singing!

Ive struggled with rejection, doubt most of all fear for many years currently went through the fight of my life to get my life on track and over come my many insecurities bred through fear iv been so anxious the past few weeks grappling with this stronghold this is not my portion... I stumbeled on this song as iv been focusing on getting past my fears Iv met a great guy but fear has been messing up the relationship..... But this song has given me so much strength realised Love is beautiful im a child of God .....and His rescued me so I can Sing I am a child of God this is my song of deliverance I feel soo much liberty and love may God bless Steffany.... The church's sanctuary was built quite a few years ago, and the new sanctuary won't be built for a few years, and so we do the best we can do with our present facilities. We are excited about our future plans as we steward what we already have to the best we are able.
