  • The primary fight songs of Missouri, usually played back to back and connected with a cheer, "Every True Son" and "Fight Tigers" are two songs that every Mizzou fan knows. "Every True Son's" origins are unknown, yet the melody was based on a British army song called "It's A Long Way to Tipperary", while "Fight Tigers" was created by Robert Karsch and Donald MacKay in 1946.
    Some recordings on RUclips have "Fight Tigers" played once, but this is the pregame version, where the "Tigers, go!" chant can be heard, followed by the band playing the song again.
    And with that, enjoy these tunes played by the "Big M of the Midwest", known as Marching Mizzou!

    LYRICS
    Every True Son:
    Every true son, so happy hearted,
    Skies above us are blue,
    There's a spirit so deep within us,
    Old Missouri here's to you (rah rah!);
    When the band plays the Tiger war song,
    And when the fray is through,
    We will tramp, tramp, tramp, around the columns,
    With a cheer, for Old Mizzou!
    CHANT:
    Hooray! Hurrah! Mizzou! Mizzou!
    Hooray! Hurrah! Mizzou! Mizzou!
    Hooray! Hurrah! And a bully for Old Mizzou!
    Rah! Rah! Rah! Rah!
    Mizzou-rah! Mizzou-rah! Mizzou-rah!
    Tigers!
    Fight Tigers:
    Fight, Tigers, fight for Old Mizzou,
    Right behind you, everyone is with you,
    Break the line and follow down the field,
    And you'll be, on the top, upon the top;
    Fight, Tigers, you will always win,
    Proudly keep the colors flying skyward,
    In the end we'll win the victory,
    So Tigers, fight for Old Mizzou!
    T-I-G-E-R-S! Tigers, go!
    [repeat "Fight Tigers"]
