Thanks for the kind comment. It's much appreciated. I'll try to keep the videos coming! Regards dots for the whistle. I don't do them myself but here is a website that I have found helpful in the past - www.irish-folk-songs.com/tin-whistle.html I hope you find it useful. Happy New Year!

What sort of capo do you use to quickly switch between tunings

Ya, It's called a Quick Draw Capo. I made a short video about it and where you can get one - ruclips.net/video/YwWePqC4RoY/видео.html

Also could you do a vid on acceptable passing notes for chord progressions?

Ya I could give that a go. I'll put it on the to-do list 👍 It's another funny one because it would depend on how jazzy or off the rails you want to go. A lot of Trad purists would say for accompanists to strictly keep things as simple as possible so that the tune melody takes the lead role. Others prefer to experiment. But in this video the key is A minor. The 2nd chord in the key of A minor is B Diminished. If I had played that full B diminished chord it would have sounded pretty in your face. So that's why I just used the B note as a passing note. (So to link that up with the video where I'm acting as if we're in the key of D minor, that would mean the 2nd chord in the key of D minor is E diminished. I just used the E note as a passing note instead of playing that full E diminished chord.) Hope that helps! 😃

What would you recommend for a D-G-A tune progression?

Hi Daniel. Do you mean just that chord progression of D-G-A (1-4-5) or do you mean three separate tunes, one in D one in G and one in A? Either way it would kind of depend on the tunes and what type of feel you want to add. ie. the use of capo or not, if they are reels or jigs, slow or fast etc. I might try put together a lesson that goes through a whole set of tunes with key changes like that and give examples of some options. If it's just the D-G-A chord progression then there's a lot you could do with it, from dynamics with muting, picking instead of strumming, sliding into the chords, chord extensions etc. So If it's in the key of D that would be your 1 chord so you could make that a major 7th, you could also make the 4th a major 7th and then make the 5 chord a dominant 7th which would lead nicely back to the 1. Hope that helps a bit, it's tricky trying to type stuff out like this.

Hi, I play some finger style tunes and a bit of flat picking, but it's not my forte. I'm still working on it and enjoy learning.
