I can see the old man stance when striking. Almost a slouching stance but able to maneuver without too much movement.
He did mention that Sungkud means "old man stick" or "walking stick." Good to know since our body structure changes as we get older. Gotta adapt our stances and balances along the way.
Awesome! Thanks! Very interesting! I especially like the long stick!
Glad you like it! It's definitely different and very practical to learn. The Tapado system was meant to end things quick. Just like the word "tapos."
The Piga System looks very similar to a style made popular by the late SGM Angel Cabales in the States (Serrada). Would be interested in knowing more about the origins of the style. Maybe they both came from the same source. We also learned some Tapado from GM Mike Vasquez. Good stuff 👍🏼
We were thinking the same thing. I do agree that further research would be interesting to see where everything traces. Especially within the Visaya areas, it's really easy to jump from one island to the next. 45-60 min by air or a full day boat ride.
Thanks sir 🙏
You're welcome.
Pika, pika, pikachu😂😂
We were confused too when we were first heard it and thought the same thing. Then he said, "PI-GA".
